I found Alexa Kazim of Atelier 616 Interiors, LLC through Houzz and after speaking to her briefly on the phone, I realized that she was exactly who I wanted to hire for my condo renovation. She was a very good listener and immediately understood my wants and needs. I was a bit apprehensive working with a designer at first because I was budget conscious but she quickly relieved my worries with her keen assessment of my concerns. I initially worked with her on a color consultation of the entire condo. She walked through the space and assessed the lighting and spatial area of the rooms. At that time, I had a new grandchild that was due to arrive in a few months and she told me about an ecofriendly paint that we should use. The colors that she suggested complemented each area perfectly and I receive such praise from visitors to my home. We then worked on redesigning my living room and dining room. I had a few paintings from my previous home that I loved but had a hard time trying to figure out what to do with them in my new condo. I was so happy when she came up with a design that incorporated my past with a new and fresh industrial look that I was looking for in my new home. Through this process, I have found that Alexa has been a constant professional as well as hard working, smart, creative, patient, funny, and just a pleasure to work with throughout. I still have a few more items to renovate in our condo, including a kitchen and a bath and I look forward to working with Alexa and using her vast knowledge of design concept to create my dream home.

my experience was wonderful; I had a "vision" and Alexa understood what I wanted and worked very hard to get me there- she had a true "eye:" for detail and a very solid understanding of the various art historical "movements" one of my rooms is Arts and Crafts while the other is Louis XVI and she "got" it all!!!!!!!!!! she is a true gem and I feel that way very sincerely in spite of our occasional bickering I highly recommend Alexa, she has enormous kindness and patience plus she is an unassuming "warehouse "of knowledge. Alexa was an absolute pleasure to work with! She was extremely consultative and quickly sought to understand my style and needs right from the start. She provided virtual consultations via FaceTime during the Covid-19 quarantine period and she didn t miss a beat! Our virtual meetings were very focused and just as effective as being in person. She was extremely flexible, speaking on nights and weekends, and helped me with paint, tile and lighting consultations, including some sourcing and sending samples. Now I ve got all the design elements I need to start the project as we come off of quarantine. I m so glad I found Alexa!
Alexa was spectacular on the multiple projects she's handled for us, at every phase: design, planning, budgeting, staffing, execution, and followup. She made tasteful suggestions in response to our ideas, and came back with other suggestions when we gave more input or changed our minds about things. She kept the projects on track, kept us informed, always responded promptly, and personally was always a total pleasure to deal with. And we couldn't be happier with the results. The most recent project took a more-or-less functional kitchen and turned it into an efficient and beautiful space to cook and just be in. We can't recommend her highly enough!
Alexa at Atelier 616 is the finest decorator I know. She took my jumble of a home and made it look polished, beautiful, and most importantly live-able. With 4 pets and 2 teenagers, it was important to me that we could live in and enjoy our space while still enjoying good, sophisticated design. My husband now says "Do whatever you want if Alexa says it's ok" which, if you knew my husband, would be enough said. I can't recommend her highly enough.
