Student Media at UCSC produces two main publications: City on a Hill Press (CHP) newspaper which has been in circulation since 1966; it covers campus news as well as local Santa Cruz issues. CHP has won numerous awards over the years including Best Newspaper from California College Media Association (CCMA). Additionally there's Fish Rap Live! which broadcasts live every Friday from 12-1pm PST on KZSC 88.1 FM radio station; it covers music reviews & interviews with artists/bands who perform locally around Santa Cruz County.

The CHP newspaper covers various topics ranging from politics & social justice issues affecting students' lives both on-campus & off-campus; arts & entertainment events happening around town; sports updates about our Banana Slugs teams competing against other universities across California State University system.

Fish Rap Live! radio show features interviews with musicians who perform locally around Santa Cruz County. The show also covers music reviews, album releases, and upcoming concerts in the area.
