Historic Strand Movie Theatre..... Currently under ownership of the Ohio Wesleyan University, they have help renovations move along at the Strand. New seats in two theaters and yet it hasn't lost that hometown feel. Great place to take your family or date on the weekend or any other day of the week!
This is such an amazing Theater I just with my family to go see the Lion King and the service was amazing I definitely recommend !!

Great little local theater in Delaware Ohio showing new release movies. It's not as luxurious as the big theaters but we got 2 tickets 2 small popcorns and 2 drinks all for $18. That's a great deal! They usually have several movies to choose from and it's always a good time! Very unique experience! Afterwards be sure to eat at a local restaurant close by. Across the street from the theater is a great restaurant. Try it!
Easily the classiest place in Delaware and the staff is awesome, especially Abbey.
I don't know why this place has such good reviews but there isn't even a public restroom you can use during the movies. If you dare buy beverages from them you may want to bring your own toilet because this theatre is cruel and unusual. You've been warned.
Nice theater for the price, Very cheap, fairly clean considering it's a VERY old building, Needs some work here and there (some seats need fixed, trim, mostly cosmetics [UPDATE: Main theater now has all new chairs!] [UPDATE#2 Upstairs also has new chairs now!]). Not the nicest place, but I go here to watch most movies, only for big blockbusters will I go to the "big" theater. The owners are always expanding and fixing things up, but it will take time. If you want an average movie watching experience for a great price this is the place.
If you were ever a child in Delaware this is where you watched films. Remmeber how the old man would open up the projector room and show you how the machines worked? They've restored everything so it's nice, and put in comfy seats, and kept it low priced so you can bring all the kids and also still buy groceries in the same week. Excellent all the way around.
First movie with my daughter. Good price, nice atmosphere. Small updates but still makes it feel vintage.

We wanted to try out the Strand Theatre so we decided to take our two boys to see the new Star Wars movie. It was such a great experience! The popcorn was delicious, movie theater was clean as were the bathrooms. We will definitely be back!
Super awesome place. On the National Historic Buildings registry. One of the 10 oldest theatres in the USA. But modern accessibility and technology. First run films and throw backs. Very clean and well lit. Sensatory special showings. Gender neutral restrooms. Lobby with couches, concession stand, alcohol available. Kids booster seats and closed captioning available. Tickets $5 to $7. Street parking and lot across the street.

Love The Strand Theater in Delaware, Ohio! Unique old updated movie house in the heart of beautiful downtown Delaware. Newer comfort seating, great popcorn, good senior rates, and the classic wonder of the yesteryear movie experience in an updated atmosphere.
+100 yr old theatre, with restored and preserved interior. Seats aren't too stiff or soft, and the backs let you rock back a bit, if you're feelin antsy. Great atmosphere, and the consessions are modestly priced.
They also allow paranormal investigations at times.

I like supporting local businesses and this one is worth supporting. Nice to get a beer to drink with the movie. Speakers aren't the best, sometimes difficult to understand dialogue. Seats are comfortable and staff is Friendly.
This theater is clean with nice screens , comfortable seats, great sound, first run movies and super cheap prices! Catching a movie here and a meal at one of our amazing restaurants is a family treat that won't break the bank. One of the last great community theaters in operation. If movies are a part of your night this place is worth consideration.
Friendly staff, awesome popcorn, comfy seats.... My only complaint is that yoi cam hear every sound in the other theater. We were there for A Quiet Place so we didn't get the full experience of our movie.
This place is a classic! My favorite to see a movie in the Columbus metro - I always check to see what's playing here first. They have the best employees and volunteers, very reasonably priced snacks with a great selection and combo options. Seating, screens, and sound are all very nice. And tickets are cheaper than anywhere else. Grab a friend and check it out!
Lived in Delaware sense I was born the strande is a perfect theater. And excellent price's and staff. Yeah cinimak has 3d blah blah. But if you want a good priced clean well own hometown theatre this is for you!

Seats in balcony are horrible! You can also hear people downstairs because they have no doors to close. Go to a real movie theatre.

Can't get on line and let people know before they drive there? Marcus Cinema got our money today. Guess we will call ahead next time first, to make sure your open.

They got new seats in spring but I'm not seeing that in the balcony? I'd rather pay more $ and go sum where else do to seats. Bring your coat to sit on as a cushion and if you put your feet up bring another one for underneath back of knees..lol

Just went and saw Peter Rabbit with three kids and my amazing friend, and it was INCREDIBLE. Between the cheap tickets and not paying an arm and a leg on snacks, I am just reminded of how much I love local business here in Delaware!

Still the best place in Delaware county to go see a show. The prices are great and they have 3 different theaters. The concession have a nice variety and the popcorn is hot and good. A place you can afford to take the whole family.

Always a great value. Matinee is $5, perfect for a weekend movie with the family. Prices for soda and snacks are good too. Beer served everyday but Sunday. Located downtown so it's within walking distance to all the great restaurants. Perfect for a bite to eat and a movie. I never go anywhere else to see a movie. Hands down-this is the best bang for your buck.

it is a nice quaint theater. not a big fan of old style inside. mostly only shows family friendly movies and the screen is kinda small.
I was miserable the whole time. I took my little girl to see The Grinch, but I couldn't pay attention to the movie because it was so hot. They had the heat turned up so high that it was all that I could think about. I tried to get something to drink halfway through, but they closed everything down so I couldnt. I would never ever go back to this place. It is close to me but I will make the drive to Mill Run next time.

I love going to this theater instead of going to one of the bigger ones. The prices are cheaper and you get to see the same major movie Blockbusters. The concessions are well priced, the place is clean, and the staff is very friendly. I love the history of the theater and appreciate the group that continues to maintain it.
Went to see "It" last night. Chose this theater because, being a fan of Stephen King, i wanted the small town feel for this movie.
I keep forgetting why i don't always enjoy my experience here: the quality of sound. There are times when you can't quite make out what the actors are saying, and in bigger production movies, the sound quality is definitely off.
Side note: if you have a cold, please have the courtesy to not go to the theater. Last night, a lady sat right behind me that was, literally, sniffing every 20 seconds. I had to move my seat, but could still hear jer throughout the movie
We love the Strandt. Nothing beats their price! It s not crowded. A real family-friendly old fashioned movie theatre.
Been coming to the Strand since I was young. Even went to a sleepover party here once. Very vintage feel, cozy, very cool little theatre.
