I am currently a PN student at Stone Academy. Since my start here in June 2018, I can tell that things are steadily improving. The administration staff they have now is here for the students and provide lots of support. Things are truly getting better.

I have had a wonderful experience at Stone academy. The teachers, staff, and administrators are all readily available to help when help is needed. I have never been to a college or school where everyone cares so much and honestly wants you to succeed. I attended the CNA program and have continued on to the LPN. I have not been let down. Thank you to Mrs Mallon, Tara, Ms Benton, Dennis, Judy and everyone else who has helped me so much. You have all made this a wonderful learning experience for me

Going to Stone Academy in West Haven is the worst ...

Going to Stone Academy in West Haven is the worst thing I could have done. It is all about getting your money. There is only two instructors that really care about their students and its the two that you start the program with. All of the other instructors are there just for a paycheck. You have to basically teach yourself. You have to pay all that money just to teach yourself. Stone Academy in West Haven sets the students up for failure. Once they get your money its over. They want you to fail so you have to pay more money to repeat the classes. The bathrooms are always nasty, garbage cans are always full & running over and damaged ceilings. The instructors don't care if you fail or pass because they're getting their paycheck regardless. I would never EVER refer anyone to Stone Academy in West Haven the worst school EVER!!!!! It doesn't even deserve one star but it wouldn't let me post this review without clicking a star.

I have been in the LPN program since January 2017 , and I must say this program has to be the most unorganized and unprofessional school I have ever attended. They don't care about their student or the education we receive. I would NEVER recommend this school to anyone that wants to become a medical professional. I would honestly rate this school a half star due to the fact that they spell my name correctly.

Stone Academy in West Haven is one of the worst schools a person can recieve their education from. Students pay $33,000 and honestly the only good thing you get out of your money are the books because the teachers are worthless and they do not know anymore than the students do. They are unorganized and act as if their students are animals. A school's main priority should be their students and knowing if they are actually learning or not. Here, they do not care about that. They don't help you succeed. Honestly it's as if they want us to fail so they can take our money. They don't answer any questions we may have pertaining to the courses we take. Whenever you go to the LPN office, they act as if they are too good to deal with the problems that they are giving us. If you don't understand something, don't ask administration because they are too worried about treating you like your stupid and they'd rather sit on their a**es. The staff here is rude and consists of individuals who take power to their heads and treat everyone else like children. Do not attend stone academy in west haven and do not let your first visit fool you. They are nice until the money is in their hands. After that, you're broke and in your own.

Stone Academy has improved so much since the first day I started in Jan. 2018. We now have new administration for the LPN course and things are running more smoothly, organized and professional. My experience thus far has been exceptional and would recommend anyone serious about their education to come to Stone Academy to gain the necessary knowledge needed to further your career.

Worst experience in this school. They are unprofessional and very arrogant. My daughter went for the cna program and half her class couldnt test because of he say she say. Then as she proceeded to do the lpn she almost got jumped by five girls. And the school just told her she had to deal with it. Not the way you would expect such a highly spoken about school to react or even help. Smh never will i recommend anyone to go there.

This school is absolutely horrible , if i had known before i would have never wasted my time nor money. I ve called the department of education on them and they are supposed to be looking into the school. I hope something is done because they lack education . Believe me you will
Be leaving that school just as clueless as you did walking in there !!!!!

They make student overpay for a terrible education. They are nothing, but a bunch of liars and thieves. This is not a school its nothing, but a business all complete with false advertisement. I am currently under the process of MAKING SURE I DON'T PAY ONE PENNY TO THIS SCHOOL.. Funny how NO ONE THERE ANSWERS ANY EMAILS. But the second they need any info from for their numbers they contact you right away. NOTHING BUT A JOKE . Everyone from my graduating class, the one below me and before me are all still job less over a year later. 2 students out of 50 have jobs. JOKE! I wouldn't even rate this place with one star. I had to give it something in order to post

Thank you Stone Academy!!!! I passed my LPN Exit exam on February 8, 2019 on my first try.
This could not have been possible without the vision, support and encouragement of great leadership. The new LPN management team empowered and fostered progressive change within the past few months and resulted in the success of our cohort.
Nursing school is an overwhelming and challenging journey, which cultivates and transforms ones awareness to the value of providing care to a diverse population. The team instilled a positive mind set for the students to achieve milestones beyond what we believed was possible and aspired us to go out and do great things.
The past few months were the most challenging; without the hard work of our LPN mentors; their presence, teaching philosophy, inspirational words, and encouragement I would not be writing this.
Your voice and words resonate in our minds and have left footprints in our hearts.
Thank you for coming to Stone Academy and for believing in us, we are forever grateful.

I give this this school a quarter of a star. I am a current student of stone academy West Haven and I have had the worst experience since I started my journey. I had a career as a Medical Assistant and i dropped my whole life so that I can try to further my career. From the time that we started, we have been getting the run around. We've started classes without books(failing test). The school does not communicate. The school Director is not aware of the lack of education and learning materials being provided. Teachers have discouraged us, telling us that we will never make it as nurses and that we kill people. Other teachers have told us that they don't have to teach us. The school expects to hand out books and for the students to self teach. I did not pay 32,000 to teach myself how to be a nurse. This is not comfortable for me because it makes me feel as if i cant trust nurses who graduate from this program. You Will not leave here with proper education, you will not learn everything that you need to. you will be discouraged by "leaders" everyday and they do not hide the fact that don't care. I will say there is literally a handful of staff who do care but they hold no power. Since I been at stone academy, their have been a numerous amount of teachers and learning staff members who quit their jobs. In regards to test and quizzes, the teachers don't take the time to go over our test with us so that we know what we got wrong and what we need to work harder on. Because of the shortage of teachers we now are stuck with the Lpn coordinator who is not much of a resource for a Med surge teacher. She was obviously thrown into the position and the whole program is failing in result to this. The school is aware that we are being told to teach ourselves 1 chapter, but we are being tested on something totally irrelevant.
The LPN director see's no problem with this and I as well as others have approached her about it over 5 times. The school seems to want to collect their money and look good for creditors. They have so much advertisement but they do not hold themselves to their own standards. If i am required to wear a uniform, show up on time, and everything else then I expect an education in return. This has been the worst experience and I've never been so depressed in my life. This was supposed to be a great experience and it is turned my life into a wreck. I work very hard day and night and manage to still go to school everyday knowing i am not receiving a proper education. This school needs better leaders and people who care about patient care and want nurses to graduate so that they can take good care of others.

I graduated from Stone Academy's LPN and my experience was a pleasant one. The instructors were helpful and showed a true interest in wanting students to succeed. Compared to LPN's that I've spoken to who have gone to other schools, Stone Academy's program teaches much more to prepare you for your career.

They botched my FAFSA/Registration resulting in them taking away my grants midway during my program. I was a full time A student & was unable to complete my program. I've asked them to send me all of my registration paperwork more than once and they still have failed to do so. They've been sketchy as hell. I know they restaffed their admission team so hopefully this won't happen to anyone again.

Stone was really rocky at first for me but at the end everything came together. I rate my experience at stone as lifes trials and errors which made me grow. I came into this organization with an idea of being a License Practical Nurse now I leave with knowledge and skills as LPN. There were and still are some great instructors at this school who gave me the tools and preparation needed for the start of my nursing career and I will definitely continue to use them to pave the way of the rest of my journey. Thanks for believing in me......

Since I started the LPN program last year, the start off was rough. The turnover rate for instructors was very high, and administration as well. I had multiple instructors for class and the clinical sites were bare minimum. As I went through the program it got worse before it got better. After one of the most recent administration changes, It has been improving. My biggest complaint was the lack of communication, but it has since been on point. The school is what you make of it, and if you want to learn you have to be willing to put the time into it. The day program is an accelerated program and isn't easy if you don't have the time for it. I think the school has potential to be great if it stays on the track it's on now. They are willing to work with you and really want to see everyone succeed, but I can't stress enough putting forth the effort to learn. A program like this is a quick foot in the door into the healthcare field if you're ready to dive into the books. I would not of recommended the school when I first started, but for the future incoming students, it is steadily getting better, and I have nothing but good things to say about some of the staff that works closely with the students.

I attended Stone Academy from early 2008 to until June 2009. I experienced discrimination prior to me taking the Medical Assistant test to enter the program. I was told my the individual working in the admissions office . That I could not partake in the program do to physical disability. So I took up the Medical office Professional Assistant program. When it came time to place me @ an externship site. One was not available the school wanted me to take more classes. Long story short had to get my student loan debt revised and then got approved for my loan to be discharged. A lot if the staff are helpful. A few other individuals are judgmental if you want to try the school be my guess.Everyone's experience is different .

If you decide to go here make sure you have a strong backbone cause you ll be teaching yourself & medical background/ connections otherwise you ll be struggling FOREVER TO FIND A JOB

During the past few months with the new administration change I personally noticed how things have turned around for the better. The school is definitely going in the right direction. Our voices are now heard, we received lot of support and they made us believe in ourselves. I can t say thank you enough to Stone Academy for giving me a great student experience!
