I stopped by for the first time today for a to- go order during my lunch break. I was able to pick up my order quick, the food was great, and on top of that service was awesome. Yes, even the little bit of service I had for a to-go order was top notch. I'll definitely be back!

Really good food. Tastes fresh and homemade. A little on the elegant side. I recommend going for lunch because the dinner menu is a little on the pricey side. Great date night restaurant. Clean and cute decor. Knowledgeable staff and friendly service.

This might be the best restaurant I've eaten at in years. The food was divine. I really don't know how they make EVERY item come out so perfectly but my "hat's off to the chef"!
I went during "Restaurant Week" and they had a special on a 3-course meal, so I won't spend time reviewing the individual items in case it's not something they typically offer and hence you won't find it on your trip. Rest assured it was great. My friend got the Duck Sampler, which I believe is always on the menu. He said it was the best he ever had. Just HAVE to mention the macaroni and cheese. This was the best Mac and Cheese I've ever had. It was absolutely perfect. It's exactly the way it SHOULD be made (so why can't other restaurants get this right??? Frustrating!)
Service was so friendly. You can tell the staff takes pride in their restaurant and their food. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about all the items; he had tried them all. That is always a good sign. The worst part about the experience was trying to decide what to order b/c EVERYTHING on the menu was incredible. I'll be back!!!

Simply Stellar. My husband and I have been on a few different occasions for dinner and have yet to be disappointed. The staff is very polite, very well-rounded with the menu details and answering questions, the lighting makes it feel cozy and intimate, and the food is amazing. It s definitely one of our favorite local spots!

A nice place to grab a bite with an intimate setting and Southern Food with a bit of style. I have eaten there a few times...OK I ate their twice but have drank beers there many times.

The first time I ate there I had the seared duck and it was like eating a duck flavored salt lick. The second time I ate there I ordered a salad with prosciutto and it was good.

The service in great, the atmosphere is great, their wine/beer selection is also quite good.

I will likely upgrade the place to a 4-star review after I eat there a few more times and have more to base the review upon.

I simply enjoyed my time at this restaurant. You can miss it if you're not intentionally looking for it as it sits off of Fairview Road. The atmosphere is a very cozy, relaxing and inviting. The staff is very attentive, friendly and courteous. I dined alone among other things and did not feel awkward at all. I will be dining there again. Thank you Stella for a wonderful experience.

My wife and I wished to have a date night so having secured our progeny with the grandparents we adjourned to Stella's. This is not the usual chain restaurant. You will not find any gimmicky or tacky decorations adorning the walls. No minimum flair on the wait staff. The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting with many of the wait staff recognizing and conversing with regulars. The menu is more limited than the typical chain, but in this case quantity is sacrificed for quality. My wife ordered some sort of mexican black bean smoked pork soup and it was incredible. An excellent mix of flavors combining the spice and variety of Mexican soup with the citrus sweetness of southern BBQ. The accompanying cheddar grits, delivered in souffle form, and macaroni with cheese were almost excellent enough to be meals in their own right. For myself I had a few glasses of Odan 14yr and soaked in the atmosphere. We were served by a man named Brent who did a most excellent job. He was attentive and incredibly knowledgeable about the food and drinks. He pointed my wife towards her dinner of choice as well as directing me towards the Oban when I told him that I preferred peaty Scotch. As a locally owned and operated establishment this place is a testament to the skill and artistry of Simpsonville chefs. The only complaint I can muster, if indeed it be considered a complaint, is that the impact on your taste buds is matched only by the impact on your wallet. For food of this quality however it is a worthy sacrifice. Personally, the price puts this place out of reach for a regular meal but for special occasions my wife and I will definitely be returning.

When you leave a fine restaurant so hungry that ...

When you leave a fine restaurant so hungry that you are contemplating a run through a fast-food drive-thru before you make it home, then things really must have been bad. That s how bad things went Friday night at Stella s Southern Bistro in Simpsonville.

We were there 3.5 hours. Now I know what you are thinking it was Friday night and we must have had to wait awhile. No we had reservations and were pretty well seated immediately.

Appetizers came out quickly, but ours was so salty we didn t want to eat it so it just sat there and grew cold.

As far as our meals go; it took 90 minutes for the waiter to first acknowledge that we had been waiting too long for our order. At this point I began eating the overly salty and now very cold appetizer. It was quite disgusting but it was an appetizer so there wasn t much to consume and I was getting quite hungry.

After nearly two hours total our food finally arrives.

Once it arrived, my meal was not eatable as it tasted like someone had dumped half a salt shaker across my plate. I barely ate any of it. After the salty appetizer, I just couldn t eat any more salt. I did consume about 20 glasses of water for some reason.

The company I was with shared some of theirs which was also so salty that it was nauseating.

The manger came by the table, apologized again for it taking so long and removed the cost of the appetizer from our bill and offered a free dessert. We then waited more than 30 minutes for the desserts to come out. I didn t have one as the last thing I want is to eat a plateful of sugar when I m hungry.

We took this opportunity to explain how bad the food was and then she gave us gift cards for a free lunch with I promptly gave to someone else at our table you can tell me you will give me all the free stuff you want, but making me pay for a meal that I waited two hours for and wasn t even fit to eat is entirely unacceptable.
