Stella's Southern Bistro Review

Food was great loved the shrimp and grits, my wife enjoyed the NY strip steak. The peanut butter pie dessert topped off a great dining experience. I like that they locally source ingredients doing farm to table.

Wonderful lunch date for my wife and I. We both had the hanger steak as we had heard very good things about it. We were not disappointed. From the time we walked in this was a 5 star experience. We had the sampler appetizer with pimento cheese, bologna, okra, etc and it was amazing. The main course was the best as the steak was so juicy yet very lean. There was a okra and greens side dish with it that was also very good and the squash casserole was amazing. The fried egg on top of the steak was a nice touch and something we had talked about trying at home but never have. Then my wife tried the bread pudding dessert and I had a blueberry "fritter" or something similar and both were extremely good. The service was excellent and the entire experience couldn't have been much better. We will be back!

My wife and I have been here a handful of times and every single one has been five star treatment, food and experience. This is our go to place when we want to treat ourselves.

Wow! That is all I can say! I was in town for business for a few days. Our supplier took us here for a business lunch. The food was awesome! I would go here again!

The menu was New Southern and quite inventive, IMHO. I did not expect to have food this good in South Carolina.

Ate here on April 16, 2018. We did get there knowing it was closing soon, and feel bad, however it was one of the only restaurants, from Google reviews, that sounded good. I live in Asheville and travelled this way, so I had no idea of Where to go. I must say it was an Excellent choice! My friend and I got the Special : Filet and Eggs over some root veggies and Brussels sprout leaves. OMG. Steak was a tad over done but still super delicious. I wasn t going to complain as I arrived so late. Dessert was fantastic too. The Peanut Butter Pie and the Espresso Chocolate were great. Our server was somewhat curt but also gave great service and was more friendly by the end. So all was well. Thank you Stella s!

There is NOTHING not to love! Chef is amazing! Food is fresh, inventive and delicious. Staff is super attentive. This is, far and away, the BEST restaurant in the Greenville area.

Our go to date night place. Not hard to get to or find parking. All the great food from one of the downtown places without the head ache.

We are new to the area. We were impressed by the service and their food. Brent was excellent. I always like the waiter recommend and he was in point. I had the shrimp with grits. My husband had the ribeye with brocolli.. The peach mule was delicious too. Creamy and perfect. We will definitely come here again and again. They just won a customer for life!

We always get great service here whether we sit at the bar or a table. The food is always great as well. My favorite entree is the duck breast, it s so tender and delicious. The bartenders normally make excellent cocktails as well.

I don't get the hype. It's okay, but expensive for the portions they offer.

Nice menu. A bit noisy at lunch.
Hanger steak was flavorful but not hot enough. Get it medium as medium rare a bit undergone. Everything should be served as hot as possible.

The name of the restaurant is a little deceptive as you would think that it's going to be a typical Southern Restaurant with the typical southern food but when we arrived for the presentation for retirement planning we saw a nice menu that was offered for the evening the food was unbelievably delicious if that restaurant was in my neighborhood I would have to go there on some kind of regular basis and I would recommend it to anyone within 20 miles of the restaurant to make a point to visit it. The wait staff were very gracious and again the food that I ate which was salmon and vegetables along with cream of broccoli soup and a chocolate torte dessert was as delicious as any I've ever eaten anywhere in any restaurant and I've been to many countries. My compliments to the chef and perhaps they should change the name of the restaurant to Stella's Gourmet Bistro

All experiences here have been charming and superb. This place is an indulgence of the best kind, and I'd say #1 in Simpsonville. With that, clearly cost is going to be higher, but worth every dollar. Classy menu and choices across food, cocktails, and wine.

Stella's Southern Bistro is 2nd to none in the upstate. Come here if you want incredible food and excellent service. Fresh local ingredients leave little to be desired. The extraordinary wait staff always make you feel comfortable and welcome.

Upscale southern charm and cuisine without the pretentiousness. Fabulous! Appropriate wines to go with every dish on the menu. If your preference or fancy is in this type of cuisine I would highly recommend.

Great service , atmosphere and great food. Not your typical southern comfort food for sure. I had the duck sampler and heirloom tomato salad - both delicious! Locally sourced meat, produce and beverages.

A friend recommended Stella's when I was back in SC visiting after living away for 9 years. Stella's was perfect choice - the food was outstanding - just what I was craving - a variety of Southern Comfort Food. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was impeccable. Never had to wait for Sweet Tea to be replenished. Stella's is a definite do-over. We will be back - all the way from California.

They have never failed us in any way whatsoever. The service is always excellent, the food is always superb. My husband and I go for a date on our birthdays and anniversary to Stella's because we know they will make it a wonderful dinner that we won't leave regretting. We got family meals when everything was closed and all four of our kids also got to enjoy them! We have never been disappointed.

If you are looking for quality food and Quality Service in a great environment this is the place to eat in Simpsonville. No reason to drive downtown when you can eat around the corner at Stellas and always have a great meal.

This is a great place for quality southern food. It is quite formal and you will not feel bad taking your boss here. They get fresh fish from charleston and cook with good rice and other authentic ingredients.

Great place. Had lunch there with 3 friends. The food was delicious. Being a southern girl I love fried okra - this was excellent. Shrimp and grits had just enough spiciness. Service was very good . Definitely will be back.

Hidden away in Simpsonville this little Bistro should not be overlooked. The unique and seasonal menus feature locally sourced foods served classic / new southern style. I really cant say enough, this place is right up there with the best Greenville has to offer and better than any and all of the chain restaurants.

I enjoyed Stella's very much. The food was delicious. I was there with a large party of people so an experience with just two to four people might be different. Service was slow but friendly. We we're not checked on as frequently as we should have been. The food is very expensive and frankly if I had known that before I wouldn't have gone there.

We went to Stella's for our first time last night and loved it! It was a nice change of pace from downtown. The food was amazing. I had the shrimp and grits and my boyfriend had the New York strip steak. We shared the baby wedge salad and the macaroni cheese, too. All of the food was excellent! Our waiter, Levi, was very friendly, funny and really made the experience for us! The only complaint we had (which wasn't a deal breaker) and the reason for 4 stars was neither of us liked our drinks from the bar. I ordered a mojito and my boyfriend ordered the hibiscus margarita. The mojito did not taste fresh and the margarita tasted just like a normal margarita with no hibiscus or extra flavor. We would definitely go back but probably stick to beer or wine!

We tried Stella s after seeing their almost perfect reviews on OpenTable, and I m thrilled we did.
The menu and the friendliness of the staff made me feel like I was sitting in Charleston. Absolutely nothing negative to say. We had the fried okra, roasted quail with fried duck wings, and the beef short ribs. I cannot wait to return. Delicious.

Shell's food, service and employees were on top of everything. Their French fries were out of this world. You will not find better food or service any where. Shell's is a culinary delight. Try them if you have a chance

Hidden gem on Fairview Road in Simpsonville. Enjoy Greenville's fine dining without the hassle of downtown traffic and parking. Stella's is outstanding.

Had dinner on Christmas Eve and had the NY strip which was amazing. Our server Becky was excellent and we couldn't have had a better experience for Christmas Eve!

The best casual fine dining establishment in the Upstate of South Carolina. There is not one bad thing on the menu. Just had the House Ground Cheese Burger with pimento cheese and applewood smoked bacon. It was fabulous! I'd been craving their Fried Green Tomato BLT but the cheese burger won out.

We've had dinner and lunch here a few times. Stella's might be the best restaurant in Simpsonville.

Why 4 stars? Our lunch entrees would have been 5 stars alone but the chick pea salad was rather bland, like it needed the kick of tahini instead of the bland watery dressing that was served. Our wonderful waitress realized my wife wasn't happy with it and made amends. So nice when professionals know these details, actually rare for them to take time to notice. So big kudos here.

I'm sure we will be back. We tend to be somewhat more critical with the better restaurants, they would certainly be a 5 star choice with only chain restaurants as competitors.
