Steele has excellent customer service, impressive variety and the highest quality sweet potato slips I've ever received (and I've tried a few sources ) we're in Missouri so if you're further from them than that, proximity may or may not be an issue. I got 2 orders this year for a total of 3000 plants, and both orders were in great shape. Definitely going back next year.
Home town hospitality with a great product! My family has gotten whole sweet potatoes from this farm for years. The "sweet taters" are always delicious and have a gorgeous color and texture. The town has approx 1,200 people total, so don't expect a corporate type of business, appreciate the small town charm and down home love you'll see from this business! A staple in our household!
I order the Georgia jets last year once I added nitrogen to them they took off and did very well I will definitely order again this year
So far I am less than thrilled with ordering from this company. I placed an order early on and put a note on it to get the order delivered within a certain time window. Because on one end I would be out of town, and on the other I needed to get plants in the ground before May 25. I sent them an email asking them if this would be a problem. They eventually responded stating the note was put on the order.
So what happened? They sent the order out on the day I planned to plant. So they are likely to arrive on May 25. Geez. I might be understanding if they let me know why they went out late. But this company doesn't like to respond to emails. And when they do, it's delayed and with very short answers.
Now lets see what the plants look like when they arrive. I should have taken the time to read all the bad reviews on Daves Garden. Then I would have ordered from some place else. AVOID THIS COMPANY. They aren't professional enough to live up to their own hype!
