Overall a great experience they offer good food and drinks, the food tends to take a bit to come out, but is the wait.
the food here is really good but the service sucks... everytime we are here our waiter forgets drinks and messes up the order. One time our waiter was even like sorry guys my friends are here so it might take me a while to get back to you because I'm serving them. It's just annoying.
Okay place to eat. Food was okay but I have had better. Atmosphere is fine. Great prices. Large portions. If you aren't looking for anything too fancy this would be a good place to dine
It's a very steelers centric place with HUGE sandwiches with BIG flavor
Customer service needs a little help and they have some weird policies
Service is lacking, sat there for 5 minutes and never was acknowledged or saw anyone attending to the bar area.
Won t go back.
Great food. You can order from Twisted if the kitchen is still open to enhance your experience there
I've had lunch here a few times and really enjoy the comfortable atmosphere, great food, and great service.
Can't find a number for this place not even open for it's hours I'd have an easier time pulling teeth
Response.

Response... Wow glad you figured out how to use Google or put a sign on your door or website for that matter good job...
Good bar food and beer. Local vibe. Clean and friendly.
Love the saucy fries. The sammiches are good. They are a direct knock off of Primanti Bros. and embrace it.
Great comfort food. Lots of seating. Great service.
We ate here twice over the past week while attending a Church conference at IUP. The service we received from everyone that waited on us was great--they practically kill you with kindness; not really used to that out here in the NYC area, so that's really what drove us to visit twice. The food was good too; I might add we came in at around midnight on both occassions and the lateness of the hour didn't seem to impact the quality of service one bit. Kudos to the management and all the team members at this location.
Craving a *cough* Pittsburgh style sandwich and don't feel like the drive? This is where to go. Fresh bread, great slaw and fries. Delicious.
Had good chicken wings, good service, and a good time! First time there and will definitely be back!
Great place to eat. The service was quick and the food was fantastic for the price. I look forward to visiting again soon!
Very broad menu and very fairly priced. Extensive drink menu is also fairly priced and they have very good nightly specials/happy hours. Food was great and came out incredibly fast
Great local watering hole that has a great selection of craft beer on tap.
We were seated, waiter got us our drinks forgot half if them, took our order for food then came back 20 minutes later and asked us again what we wanted, then came back another 20 minutes later and asked us one more time. An hour and half after being seated and many people around us had gotten there food and ate and left. We still never got our and had grown frustrated at this point. Told our waiter we will just take it to go. Another 20 mins past. Told him forget about. Manger got involved after I avoiding our group for several minutes and then apologized for everything and told us we didn't have to pay for our drinks after our waiter gave us the Bill's before we even got our food. Most frustrating and worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant in my life.
Relaxed, lofty atmosphere. Extensive menu with good food. Excellent service. A little pricey for a family. Had a good burger and pierogies.
I got the Mad Cowher. Best burger ever if you can finish it.
Good food and good service. I only got bad food once, but they were busy, so i could see a little lack in quality.
Good food but the proportions were a little small for me.
A great tribute restaurant to the "pittsburgh style" sandwich (think Primanti's). Everything I've eaten there has been awesome!
Interesting sandwich menus with unique selections and many options for sides. The staff was very polite.
I been wanting to try this place for awhile now, finally got the chance too and was very disappointed. I went to Pittsburgh last week and had a great Pitt style sandwich at Primanti Brothers and steal city sandwich was soggy and I found plastic pushed onto my bread. I have also removed things off my sandwich that I made aware I did not want. And on top of that found a nice big egg shell in my egg. I got to taste the three 3 little pigs samich and the twisted pig burger, two completely different sandwiches and they tasted the exact same. No unique flavors. French fries was a disappointment too. Especially for the price I paid.
we went for my grandma's 93rd birthday and our waiter was such a delight and the food was delicious
Terrible food. Buns were way too heavy and large. Also incredibly doughy. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody. If you want a good restaurant just go to permantis. They have the best food by far. Overall don't go to steel city samiches. They have bad food.
Bring your appetite! The sandwiches are amazing and delicious! I had the Polamalu, and it was fantastic! Great service and great atmosphere! I look forward to trying another samich when I come back to IUP!!
First time eating here. I'm not usually a coleslaw and French fries on my sandwich kind of guy but I let them out it on my Old McDonald sandwich and it was very good. I will eat here again. The service was excellent and the owner was very nice. He tried to get my nephew to try his coleslaw. His plan didn't work. He even offered him a free sandwich just to try it. It was all around a good experience.
We were looking for a different place for lunch/dinner while visiting my daughter at IUP & found this place. Food & service was great! Would definitely go back again! No smoking was a plus!
The waitress was great, but the kitchen messed up my order by adding a spicy sauce to my sandwich (The sauce wasn't part of the sandwich and I can't eat spicy food so I definitely didn't ask for it). The problem was fixed, I just hate having to wait a second time. The food was good when it was made correctly though so I might go back someday when I visit the town again.
Our server Delaney was awesome!! We asked her what was good on the menu, we took her advise and it was awesome!! We will be back!!!
Large portions at very reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Food was a touch bland for my taste, but honestly that seems pretty common in that area of PA.
Very good sandwiches. Fun talking with the staff. Will definitely go back.
Service, cleanliness and atmosphere was good, the sandwich was good, just not great, but it was what it was.
Food was great. Atmosphere is crowded. They didnt have the heat on or something. Even the employees had coats on and some of the waitresses were standing over the grill trying to stay warm.
Food is excellent, little slow on getting waited on. Overall will be back
Excellent seating options! Indoor, outdoor, tables, couches. The food is brought to you with little wait, and is delicious! The price is fair, and the atmosphere is great.
Exquisite food and atmosphere. My party had the salmon
I didn't know even that this place existed until it came up online as I was looking for places to go out for drinks and to eat! I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a a great atmosphere and place to chill and relax. Awesome food! Great prices too.
My girlfriend and I enjoyed a delicious lunch out at Steel City! Our server was warm, professional, fun, and quite attentive to our every need. We had the sampler appetizer plate (cheese sticks, fried pickles, and Pittsburgh kabobs) which was delicious. I ordered the hearty Igloo Club, and would certainly do it again. Washing it all down with a handmade strawberry lemonade was a fantastic life decision! I can't wait to go back, and you should visit too!
This place is amazing probably one of my favorites, I have been going here since they opened and have yet to be disappointed. The wings are amazing although a bit pricey, try the steel city slicker sauce 100% would recommend.
Made me feel like I was back home..fries on everything! Highly recommended
Pleasantly surprised here, was passing through for work. Like a true yinzer I was attracted to the black and gold. I was treated to a delicious meal, kind wait staff, and reasonable prices.
This place took me right back to the burgh! Loved all the fun references to Pittsburgh Greats! The food was great! If you like pirmanti, you will love these Sammiches!
Amazing food, great atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend.
My brother, boyfriend, and I had an good meal here, and I'd recommend it, if you're looking for a sports bar-y atmosphere.
Good food! Will definitely be back to try a different samich...so many to choose off the menu.
Good food. Good prices. Love the Pittsburgh style sandwiches
I ordered for my whole office and they made the order in less than a hour. I am very impressed. I highly recommend.
No flavor to their sandwhiches. A bit overpriced for the quality. Barely any meat on my sandwhich. Mostly just slaw.
Great food very friendly staff! First time in a few years to come eat here and the food is still just as good!
I'm in Indiana each weekend and I pop into Steel City at least twice per month. The sandwiches are really good but their hidden gems are their fries and their milkshakes. They have some of the best hand-cut fries around, and their cinnamon/cajun spice mix is incredible. You wouldn't think cinnamon mixed with cajun seasoning on french fries would be a good combo, but it's seriously amazing. I've actually gone just for the fries before. They also have incredible milkshakes, and for adults they have the option to make them alcoholic. The alcoholic cinnamon toast milkshake will make you forget everything you thought you knew about milkshakes.
Parking isn't ideal, but there is a very close deck nearby next to the Indiana Theater (a block away) that's a 2-minute walk, and is free on Sundays. I've also found it's a little less busy on Sundays so if you're in Indiana on a Sunday and want a great bite, to catch the Steeler game on TV, or just want to get fries and a shake, Steel City is the place to go.
I really wanted to like the place but the food was cold and the beer was warm. The bartender was very nice. The sandwiches looked interesting so I ordered one and it was horrible the meat was slimey and undercooked and the coleslaw tasted like it was a week old and my fries were cold not even room temperature. My husband's wings were under cooked. If the Dept of Health every visits this place they will more than likely be shut down. Hoping we don't end up with food poisoning. Would not recommend this place, unless you are looking for food poisoning.
Terrible! No matter how hungry you are don't stop here. Had a sub for lunch. The bread was hold and hard. Salad looked and tasted like it came out of the fridge after a week of sitting there. Service. There are plenty of better places in Indiana to spend your money,
Took our son here for his 21St Birthday dinner. It was awesome. He got a T-shirt a champagne on the house. Service was excellent and food was delish!
Great waitress... delicious soup, great fresh cut French fries & pretty good burger,
EXCELLENT sandwiches! Might even be better than Primanti Bros.
Great place for a sandwich and a beer. Great food at a decent price.
This is my favorite restaurant in town. Everything you order tastes excellent and the atmosphere is perfect for hanging out with friends.
Beer ok. Atmosphere ok. "Sammich", I ordered the sliders and meh. It had no flavor. I know this place has good reviews so far but I honestly could have used some salt in my coleslaw or at least the fries that they covered my sandwich in. I had added at the table and it helped a little. Maybe try some seasoning? Just saying. Prob won't go back tons of other sammich options
First stop visiting IUP. Definitely coming here again. The shish kabobs were crazy good like facial wow going on. The sandwiches themselves were hot and very tasty as well.
Fantastic food, cooked perfectly, great service, great atmosphere
Don't go here for the food. If you want Pittsburgh style sandwiches, drive into the city! BUT...the service was great!
We started with a cup of chili, which tasted like marinara sauce. Chili should never be that sweet!
The fries on both of our plates looked wonderful, but that is where the goodness ended. They were chewy on the outside and had a texture of grainy mashed potatoes on the inside.
The sandwich buns (which also looked great) were on the verge of being stale. The bacon on the burger was tissue paper thin, not crispy, and reminded me of shelf stable pre-cooked packaged bacon.
I ended up getting a black bean burger...the flavor was wonderful, but the texture was mush. The mushrooms on the burger were canned, not sauteed fresh.
I wish I would have preceded the meal with a few beers to minimize my disappointment with the meal.
