State fair community college Reviews

I went here for a bit I should have finished my degree but did not that's on me. I did have great teachers then who prepared me for all the various things I have done in my life.
Fast forward a (few,) years or so and I now have a daughter going there on A+ to transfer once she gets her Aa degree to K state to get a BS and perhaps going onto a medical field unless something changes . She has an excellent art teacher there who is continuing to teach her more art .
My wife went for both her LPN and her RN at state fair. She had several great teachers as well .
My sister graduated from there a few years back and works in eduction to this day for MU.
My oldest brother graduated from there then on to kirksville to get his premed then off to med school eventually becoming a great surgeon.
The school seems to turn out a lot of good students. It's only flaw is it not being a 4 year college. Its campus is huge for a two year school.
But the 4 year thing is in the hand of politics for the most part. However it's still the nicest 2 year school of any I have seen.
It also works educating factory mechanics for local factories. I got to go for a few of those too when I was being a maintenance worker at a local protien plant.

This school is terrible with communicating to students. They will take advantage of students and take their money when given the chance. Even if the student is a military member or veteran, they will still attempt to take advantage of them. They will change programs after enrolling for classes, and then they will act like the student is clueless. Do not waste your time and money at this college.

I loved it at State Fair Community College, the overall instructor is definitely above average. I completed my associates of arts degree here. I can not speak for most other departments but the Science department has many teachers that could be teaching a university. They are very helpful and understanding and still manage to keep college level learning standard. WOULD gladly return here for a job or more education.

Great school . offer good education in many areas . good nursing program . they are very helpful .

Terrible atmosphere. Terrible staff. Terrible athletics

My experience as a student at SFCC saved my life. Without the foundation I received here at SFCC I am not sure where I would be. The instructors are student-centered and very helpful. I always felt comfortable reaching out to those instructors if I needed help. I loved my advisors in the TRiO program and could not imagine trying to navigate the process of transferring to a 4 year school without their love and support. My classmates and peers were exceptional and I reflect everyday about the great time I had here as a student.

The place is huge but everyone is helpful and friendly.

I graduated from State Fair with 2 degrees and a skills certificate - now I teach there. It is a wonderful college full of helpful people. I recommend anyone wanting a degree of any type to start with your local community College then transfer credits to a University.
