Bought a Honda mower here and have had it serviced. Have also had serviced a garden chipper-shredder bought elsewhere. They have helped me understand how to winterize equipment. Experienced professionals, great store.

Horrible customer service from an employee. I believe we experienced a hint of racism- another white customer witnessed it. There s a slew of things that I could say, but I won t, I ll just give the one star and walk away. I would never buy anything from here no matter how badly I needed it.

Can't say enough great things. My snowblower would not start yesterday morning prior to the storm Called Starr and spoke with Pat he said he may not be able to get to it but I can bring it in. I dropped it off around 9:30 and got a call at 3 saying it was done! Thank you Pat and Mike!

We're very helpful and getting me the correct chain for my chainsaw. They know what they're doing when it comes to Power Equipment including chainsaws. I would recommend them for anyone needing this kind of service.

This place went from a dump to the best Stihl and Toro dealer in the area. Very competent, albeit grumpy service. 1st class work.

Well, 2 years later and I can add "honest" to there list of attributes. I was "given" a larger snowblower by my brother in law. The gentleman who helped me showed me why it was not worth fixing. I brought my little Toro up and they had it tuned up for winter in less than 24 hours. It's from 1996 !

My next Toro will be from these guys, they are clearly in this for the long haul. They service my Stihl chain saw which is at least 20 years old and runs like a clock.

I was hesitant to bring my mower here [Norristown location] after reading the negative reviews. However, I was very pleased with my experience. Employees were polite, thorough, and quick. Definitely using them again.

I took my blower to them they said they didn't work on that particular one but the gentleman took it back in his shop to help me out out and got it running properly had it running perfectly in 5 minutes would take my equipment to them no matter what they will always help you out I asked what the charge was he said dont worry about now that's what I call service!!!

Our Snow blower broke during the blizzard of January 2016. Star's service was amazing. They picked it up on Tuesday and had it back on Thursday! 2 days turnaround on what must have been an incredibly busy week for them. High level of customer service. We will be purchasing some new lawn equipment next fall and it will definitely be from Star!

I've gone to this place ever since I was a kid wit...

I've gone to this place ever since I was a kid with my grandfather. I've been to all the local shops and even though there are a couple closer to me, this is my go-to whenever I need something immediately. I would rather go to a place run by people that express their true character as opposed to place that is all about professionalism, which are for robots.

This place is old school without getting too gritty and I like that.

I just went there because i couldn't figure out what was wrong with my Honda lawnmower. I did everything I could do on my own to try and fix it. I couldn't get a spark and brought it in to Pat. He was GREAT! He listened to me and didn't treat me like an idiot. He diagnosed the problem almost immediately after checking if I was getting a spark first (Mower wasn't sparking with new plug). It was a small part that was keeping the blades from rotating. He said that the engine needs the inertia of the blades in order to offset cord pull to get the motor running. He replaced the tiny part in the blade center and it started right up. I was afraid that I was gonna have to buy a new mower, which I can't afford. I would've hugged him if it wasn't completely inappropriate ;') I would definitely go back there, but I would go directly to him in the future.

There are several things I like about Star. 1) My club cadet does such a nice job in a fast way 2) They helped save me money steering me to buy a new part rather than making a major purchase on my Stihl weed wacker 3) I my experience they care about providing a good service to satisfy my needs. Wish more companies were focused on perseverance in satisfying the customer.

Arrived during the eve of the Heaviest snow storm ...

Arrived during the eve of the Heaviest snow storm of the decade.
The line was literally from the sales counter to the front door.
Pat, the sales representative inquired what was wrong with my snowblower, patiently asked me to explain the problem, recorded the details and said he d get back to me a soon as he could. The next morning shortly after 9 AM Pat called my home, said the snow blower was done and ready to be picked up.
The price was reasonable, the service had a short turnaround (less than 24 hours), everyone was pleasant and professional.

However, after I returned home my snowblower wouldn t start, I had to return to the shop and it appeared to be an unrelated problem to my first issue. Again crowded, waiting in line (20 minutes before closing). But again Pat, asked me to wait a few minutes. A service tech came took a look at my snowblower, took it apart made a few adjustments, (again unrelated to my original problem,) put my blower back together. I asked me how much it was and he said the best words I ve heard for some time. no charge . Starr is definitely 5 five stars.
Have been using them for over 25 years and will Continue to do so. Pricing is fair, service is exceptional, promises are kept and again, they are stars indeed.

Snow blower issues on Ariens snow tek. The took good care of the snow blower, fixed all the issues, and even power washed the unit. They did all this in short turn around and even picked up and delivered it for a nominal fee. Great job.

Took my mower after it picked up an issue of the engine dying right after start up (seemingly overnight). The staff was professional and knowledgeable (albeit not the most friendly) as they diagnosed the issue when I started it up as there likely being debris in the choke.

Their shop rate is $90/hr and they claimed it took 0.75 hr to fix which seems about right.

The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because they replaced the spark plug after I told the guy expressly that I replaced it a month ago. It's likely that they go ahead and replace the spark plug and air filter on every mower that comes in, regardless of whether they need replaced or not. Honestly, people don't bother doing the maintenance, so chances are, most mowers that come in need them; just not my spark plug.
The mechanic also forgot to tighten the guard around the muffler, which the counter guy caught and tightened.

Looking for a part try here first. They also have winter snow equipment. Even if you have to drive a bit to get here do the drive. The Norristown team is great.
