I have always enjoyed going to the Stag Theatre for a night out. It is a lovely theatre and we are lucky to have a facility as good as this in the town. Apart from the usual films being shown I was lucky enough to see some years ago Al Murray the pub landlord and what a night that was.

Small local theatre/cinema with a lovely atmosphere. Well priced refreshments (especially in comparison to the local chain ones..!). Will almost certainly have any major and recent film, with plenty of screenings.
The theatre itself hosts many interesting events throughout the year, from concerts by local and traveling choirs, as well as a variety of performing arts from magic to dance. The comedy evenings especially are a good night, with both well known names and rising stars. The bar for the theatre is a little more expensive, but still very reasonable.
Overall, would certainly recommend it. Only advice might be that early evening screenings of the more childish films can be a little loud in the holidays, but then that's true of any cinema these days.

The Cinema is excellent as for the Theatre, the performances that i have attended over the years have always been very good. However the seating plan is absolutely awful for someone 6 feet and over. I am 6' 3" and since they upgraded the seating area, its been almost unbearable to sit for an hour. I had to sit with my legs out into the isle as my knees no longer cope with being crammed in with my knee caps squashed against the seat in front. Hence the 2 stars.

I regularly visit the cafe with my young baby and some other new mums. The cafe is very baby friendly and they have a nice little play area in the corner of the room. I always let my baby play in the corner while I have my lunch with my friends knowing that she is safe. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming.

Great local theatre with interesting history.

The Stag was originally built as the Majestic Cinema, and opened on August 22 1936 with the musical farce When Knights Were Bold which the Daily Express described as a rare triumph of unimaginativeness . Now 80 years later, the shell of the building looks almost identical. But the 1930s shell hides a dark and twisting story, a tumultuous, ongoing drama which has refused to stick to the script.

Despite the long-term economic downturn which followed the Second World War, the cinema enjoyed a golden era through the 1940s and 1950s. The stage area of today s Stag was, at that point, one of the largest screens in the region. The cinema seated 1360 in total, with a large stalls area and a dress circle whcih is now the theatre auditorium.

In the early 1970s, the cinema was converted into a triple-screen complex, and plans were even hatched to include a discotheque.

But the 1980s brought gloomy times for cinema. The advent of video and the flagging film industry meant that the cinema was increasingly unloved. Planning permission for the disco was refused

Very comfortable cinema with pleasant staff. But last nights showing of Blinded By The Light was ruined by an audience member who shouted out, made comments & laughed ridiculously! Difficult to deal with as the person seemed rather disturbed...maybe staff training...

A lovely venue with big comfortable seats. The food and drinks are very reasonably priced. We are very lucky to have such a lovely cinema in our town. It is much nicer than the usual chain cinema.

If you are over 5 foot 6 inches tall or bigger than than an anorexic supermodel, you will struggle to fit in the theatre seats!! They are fairly recently put in and are ridiculous! I can tell you that everybody was complaining to each other at half time!
However, the show, Pete Storm, Elvis tribute artist, was magnificent! 5 stars for him!!

Went to the cinema. Studio 2. A little way into the film, the door was held open so someone could watch without entering. Light streamed in and so did the noises in reception as did a cold draft. Further into the film, in one of the quiet parts it sounded as if someone was running a coffee grinder in the next room. Not a great experience!

Stag Cafe is my regular haunt- food very generous portions and great quality for the price. Good selection of hot drinks, good prices, lovely children's play area.Very clean-up they got 5/5 on Health and Hygiene,so I feel confident about the cleanliness.
Very consistent.
And the reason I go is due to the staff- Julie, Hayley, Rachel and all the other staff are so lovely, efficient and always feel so welcome- and I love even going on my own.
My favourite cafe in Sevenoaks.

What a great local facility. It's got it all, just smaller than the vast, characterless out of town venues. Lastest films, theatre with a huge range of events, arts centre, cafe, bar, car park. Ands its right here in town, not 10 miles away in the back of beyond.

Lovely local theatre in original building. Great place to watch movies, performances and pantomimes. Ticket price can sometimes be a bit expensive but is well worth the practicality of the Stag's location. It is always good to support a local theatre.

Had a fantastic evening at the 2019-20 pantomime Aladdin, the cast were amazing and SO funny, especially Danny Beard and 'Silly Billy'. Lots of jokes for the grown ups as well as for the children. It was great to have the music played live More

It's a 1930,s venue run by a trust, a beautiful building if you like that sort of thing, modern and comfortable cinema seating,2cinemas I think, very reasonable prices for food, drinks and the film tickets.
There is a large carpark to the rear which is not imediatly obvious however we arrived in the dark so I may have missed the signage.
This was a very pleasant experience and will now be my new first choice cinema to frequent.
It also has the largest theatre stage in the south east.
Well worth a visit

The panto this year was incredible!!! The whole cast seemed to enjoy themselves and the energy was contagious. The gospel choir and the young women who did the big hula hoop and the rope made it so unique and different. A great evening
