Stayed here twice now, great hotel - unique rooms, friendly staff and excellent location.
Everything was just okay... and very tired. Staff was nice, rooms were very dated... and had an odd feel. Breakfast was mediocre at best, and very $$$$ room wise.
Great staff and great old fashioned hotel with modern amenities. Just wish they had a coffee maker in the room, but not too troubling to grab a cup in the lobby.
Great location within walking distance to myriad parks, bars, and shops in downtown Petoskey. Awesome historic building that is attentively maintained. Our budget room didn t have much of a view but was nicely appointed with modern amenities among the classic styling the only exception being the keyed lock which wasn t any problem. Water view rooms are available but at about double the price. The room along with the rest of the hotel was immaculately clean with great attention to detail. The Noggin Room Restaurant and bar in the basement has great food and drinks at reasonable prices. Breakfast in the hotel dining room was excellent and completely covered by our voucher. While there are other, cheaper places to stay in the area, it s hard to beat the location as well as the charm of an original turn-of-the-century resort.
Attended a wedding. Staff was friendly, venue was very clean, food was amazing and the view of the bay from the garden was beautiful.
Beautiful location, clean rooms, good food, and great history.
The service was great, the bar down stairs was very accommodating as well. Bed was comfortable and good pillows but room was a little tight.
Great atomsphere, beautiful hotel. Food service felt rushed as it was busy but the food itself was excellent.
Beautiful old-fashioned hotel with an amazing view over Little Traverse Bay. Rooms were very clean, stellar service. We visited off-season, so there weren't too many guests. They gave us a bottle of wine and snacks as well as coupons for breakfast at the hotel and meals at any of the Stafford's establishments. We visited the Noggins Room on Saturday night, lots of brews and fantastic entertainment. Didn't catch the name of the band, but they were amazing!
So I have a bit of an interesting review. My partner and I decided to stay here because we read that it was haunted, presumably by a spirit named 'Doris'. We are interested in the paranormal and captured an orb on video in the lobby area, but no other activity. The story gets interesting when 3 days after I get home, my sister (who is neither a ghost believer nor skeptic) begins noticing paranornal activity around the house. This goes on sporadically for about a month until she asks me to sage the home. I sage the home and am directing the spirit to leave as we both simultaneously feel chills run up our body and get goosebumps at the same time. I believe this was 'Doris' passing by us and leaving out the windows I opened. All in all, seek and you shall find. Proceed with caution when taking interest in the paranomal!
Two words... Noggin room. Two more words... Hot wings.
I showed up for trivia night and it was packed. It was a lot of fun just trying to guess even though I wasn't playing. We ordered food and despite being busy it came really fast and was tasty. I would recommend 10 out of 10.
DO NOT stay here !! Staff and management VERY unprofessional !!!
Night 1 - Kids running in the hallway at 10:30pm. Parents refused to control children running in the hallway.
Police called on me for "hallway discussion" with parent.
Day 2 -
"Hallway parents" in dining area started yelling at my wife for no apparent reason!!
The unprofessional way the situation was handled in the breakfast area by the 'so called' owner.
Police called again !
This situation could have been discussed away from the table, not in front of the entire dining area.
Our guests were also asked to leave. They were not involved or did not have knowledge concerning the previous nights situation.
We will NEVER stay at your establishment again.
Wonderful service. Excellent food. Beautiful view in the Rose Room. Been coming here for years and hope to come for many more.
We were here for a wedding and reception. The setting, food and service was very good. The only negative is the price of the rooms and the cost of the reception was very high.
Staffords Perry is a must if you visit the area. The historic hotel has the best view of Lake Michigan. The room/amenities are clean and basic but the service is outstanding. Located in the center of downtown makes it the perfect location to bar hop. If you don't stay in the hotel at least stop in to the Noggin to grab a beer!
Absolutely loved this hotel. The decor was on spot!! Food in the dining room was very good! We will definitely return.
It's a beautiful historic resort. However the amenities inside are sub par. The gift shop is a waste of space as it doesn't offer anything you would actually want when staying at a hotel. No snacks, limited beverages etc. The bar is cool downstairs but the wait staff was less than engaging. The room was small but it was nice. No individual thermostats which I understand because of the age of the building but there were no fans either. It was very warm.
Ate in the noggin room, food was good but the atmosphere was a little too loud
What a beautiful place. Set right off of downtown so everything is just a short walk away, and the view of the water was incredible. Would've enjoyed an amazing sunset from our balcony (room with a view) if it didn't start raining. Noggin room is nothing to write home about, but breakfast in the Rose room was divine on the porch. And I couldn't even tell the hotel was from 1899 until I read it, really well maintained! And the bed was awesome too, not hard like chain hotels. Obviously a really great place and we will be back here to Petoskey soon, highly recommend!
Couldn't ask for nicer staff or better location in Petoskey. Nice hotel. Sure there might be newer ones with larger room, but not more class
A beautiful historic building! We have been here for thanksgiving brunch and it was some of the best food I have had in the area! Definitely worth it to sit on the patio and have brunch.
If you are looking for a Wedding Venue location I highly recommend the Stafford's Perry Hotel. They have a wonderful team and always do a perfect job with their Weddings. I have never had a Client dissatisfied with the Perry Hotels offerings and services.
Love this hotel. Old fashioned high class dining, beautiful 4 to 5 star rooms.
The beautiful room and friendly staff made for a great weekend getaway.
I absolutely love this hotel! My family and I have been coming here for almost 30 years. The staff is so friendly and the rooms nice and clean. I d recommend spending just a bit more $ for a view of the Traverse City bay. Make sure you have breakfast on the porch during your stay.
Expect the best service and staff. Always a good choice for breakfast.
Came to Petoski for the first time and I really enjoyed my stay. For a guy in his early 20s it wouldn't be my top pick. It's defiantly more attractive for a older generation. Kinda reminded me of going to my grandparents house.
Absolutely beautiful rooms and views. Service was excellent.
The noggin room has the best fish in chips in the state and the Perry is beautiful
lovely classic historic! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and spacious. Can't wait to go back.
Our Wedding was perfect and it was all due to the Perry and their wonderful staff. Angie and Debbie are great at with all the planning and Evan will coordinate and orchestrate your day perfectly. The Perry is beautiful inside and out. It has breathtaking views of the Bay and the grounds are perfect. The food was amazing, as good as any we have had while in Ann Arbor. Let's be honest, Wedding food is usually underwhelming at best. Ours was wonderful, and the staff was great from the servers to the bartenders. Ernest Hemingway loved the Perry, we loved the Perry and you will too!

Very nice, but they should have heaters out on the porch for these sorts of nights
I love this place. It's historic and beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and have different price ranges. The expensive rooms are amazing and the inexpensive ones are small and comfortable.
Amazing hospitality and the food was great I loved it And so did my family it was pricey but really good food and a nice place
I thought it was really good I liked all the food to
Manager was extremely rude. We had a large party and we're treated terribly.
Quaint hotel, wonderful staff, great food. Appears geared for hosting weddings
The Noggin Room is a fantastic place to eat! I love to stop in and have their Spinach Artichoke dip for a quick snack with friends! Yum!
The hotel honors the past grandeur of vacation spots like this. After all, how many hotels in the Midwest can say Hemmingway stayed there.
The Noggin Room Pub in the Perry Hotel is my favorite restaurant! Great food and great atmosphere
It was my husband s 82 Nd birthday and it coincided with the 70 plus ski club fest. Kenneth welcomed us at the front desk and assured us that if we needed anything, they were available. Hailey took our reservation and I told her it was my husband s birthday. She arranged a gift bag and delightful cake d for Jack. Drew was also very welcoming and accommodating. Brady was very good at serving our breakfast. The food in the bar was delicious! And the dinner dance on the 2 Nd floor was 1 st class! Thank you Stanford Perry!
The noggin room is always good to meet up with old friends good food and good drinks.
Amazingly clean room with a beautiful view, even in the winter. Staff was very friendly. Love the location being right down town. We will stay here again next time we are in town.
Excellent Staff! From entrance to exit they are accommodating! Woke up to a flat tire and they arranged the maintenance man drive me with tire to Royal Tire in Petoskey- above and beyond! Thx . Please visit if in town.
Highly recommend this hotel. We went for a girls night out and we were 100% satisfied. The rooms appropriately decorated for era of hotel. Dinner and Breakfast were delicious. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We will go back!!!
Visited this location for an event open to public. Staff was friendly and it was a great experience.
History, beauty and a great staff. It is like you are stepping back into the 1930s with the grand pianos in every meeting room
Our party of 7 went to Noggin Room for lunch at 11:45am on Saturday, October 28th, 2017. The restaurant was not even half full. We were met by a very rude manager the refused to seat us at a table that was meant for four. We asked for a larger table. We were denied as their larger table was 9 top. He said he was not willing to "loose 2 seats" by giving us a bigger table. This was hands down the worst customer service experience I have ever had. We will never go back.
Clean hotel, beautiful views, walking distance to restaurants and the pier. Breakfast is totally worth the money...the creme brulee baked French toast is amazing and something you will never find anywhere else.
If you can appreciate old-world charm, then this is the place. If not, then keep your cheap self at the casino hotel.
It was absolutely incredible to stay in such a historic building! The breakfast service made the experience extra special.
Stayed in room 214. Great bed, shower, service, and comfort options. Never been more comfortable in a hotel
Love this hotel. Old fashioned high class dining, beautiful 4 to 5 star rooms.
I have always loved old, historic places so this place was a great choice. The staff and service was near perfection. I was there for a wedding and the care and attention they gave to the reception and guests was incredible. I would highly recommend this hotel. I hope I get a chance to visit again.
I ate at the Noggin Room and it was pretty good. It took a while for the waiter to get to the table and stuff, but the food was rad.
We had to fix the toilet 2xs, no fridge in room very small and over priced for what we got. Good food at both restaurants though.
What a beautiful hotel that is historically preserved! Clean, excellent service, great food, amazing views and THE BEST location to stay in Petoskey. We all had an amazing stay and we can't wait to go back. Thank you Perry Hotel:)
This hotel is a step back in time, if you prefer modern atmosphere and furniture this is not the place for you. If you like a nostalgic experience I highly recommend you stay here. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the accommodations are great.
Real nice hotel. Good view of the water. Cool bar called the Noggin Room as well. Walking distance to everything.
A very nice hotel. Rooms were very clean, and the staff were very helpful and nice. It's not very often you find a staff that is this attentive and nice. My family felt very welcome from thy he moment we walked in the door.
Downtown Petoskey, the food was good with a good drink selection
We were here for a wedding and reception. The setting, food and service was very good. The only negative is the price of the rooms and the cost of the reception was very high.
Quiet place for brunch with great food and a view of Little Traverse Bay. Can't beat that!
Went for pizza and beer happy hour at the Noggin Room. Great food at a great price!
