After the telephone system was changed on 27 January 2021, our telephone system no longer worked (previously no problems for years). Our external IT service provider invested a lot of time in troubleshooting and repeatedly contacted the hotline – no call-back, no help – nothing.
The cause of the problem: the provider of the Langenfeld municipal utilities had set up different templates (software settings), which, however, were not communicated to us for weeks.
Only after an urgent e-mail to the management and the mayor of the city of Langenfeld late in the evening of 18 February 2025 was there a call back the next morning – the solution was implemented in a few minutes.
Our service provider is billing us for several thousand euros – the municipal utilities refuse to accept any responsibility, citing the ‘transfer point’. But without notification of the necessary settings, configuration was objectively impossible.
To repeat: the municipal utilities (or their service provider TELE AG) change something and, with gross negligence (despite repeated calls to the hotline), refuse to provide information about what has been changed or what needs to be set on our telephone system.
Conclusion: catastrophic service, no communication, no responsibility – absolutely unacceptable for business customers. I will change providers and strongly advise against using Stadtwerke Langenfeld. One star is still too many.
