St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Reviews

I'm changing my review based off of a encounter I had with a officer . Typically when police get behind us or near us WE DONT FEEL PROTECTED, WE DONT FEEL SAFE . They dont care about situations or personal problems they dont care about helping their community HOWEVER they do care about writing as many tickets for whatever reason OR profiling ppl trying to catch them breaking the law based off their looks or a broken tag light lol . I'm a single mom I work 2 jobs most the time I'm going from one job to another or to pick my children up . I was stopped for speeding the officer seeing how many points I had was very VERY LENIENT on me . I have never ever in the eight years I have lived in St Mary's encountered a officer who actually CARES. I pray for that man and his family every night and anytime I begin to speed I think of him and I slow it right back down NO MATTER HOW LATE IM RUNNING because with out his leniency I WOULD BE DRIVING ON a suspensed license OR NOT AT ALL . WE TRULY NEED MORE OFFICERS LIKE HIM !!!!!

First encounter with SMCS as a ride along participant. Officer that assisted me was very professional, used sound judgement, and quick in thought but thought his actions out very thoughtfully. St. Mary's county is very fortunate to have you all as its men and women of protection and enforcement of the law.

The only county that I know that goes to make contact with civilians at 2am over non criminal matters. Not everyone in St. Mary's is unemployed so DONT COME AND RING THE DOORBELL AT 2AM!!!

Its not a criminal matter it can wait!

I reported a stolen item and Deputy Luffey was very professional and willing to help. Very respectful towards me and my home when he arrived.

Very professional and helpful men and women of blue. Outstanding excellence of law enforcement officers, safety and of the well being of others!!! courageous in all aspects.. and positive leadership outreach encouraging to our youth, communties, seniors and abiding citizens keeping St. Mary's a beautiful and safe family oriented place to live!!!!!! Very proud and respectful in supporting our local law enforcement agencies as well as across our nation!!!
