St. Lawrence Brewer Bookstore Review

A lovely bookstore. It's the only place I can get wrapping paper and cards that are worth sending; not cheap but worth it.

Love the variety of very unique items that aren't found anywhere else in our area.

Great place to find local Christmas gifts like books, clothing and ornaments!

Best coffee and cafe in north country, and gifts are unique,the decorator does the finest job.

It's a little overpriced the cafe is very good nice place for some coffee while studying or doing school work

St. Lawrence University (SLU) is one of the best liberal arts universities in the nation. It may be in the middle of nowhere, Canton, but there are a wide range of activities and organizations to take part in. Being a D1 hockey school, games are intense (especially against their rival school Clarkson University). With all that being said... Here We Go, Saints!

Very nice and cozy store. Has everthing from books to food.

They have pretty much everything. If they dont they will order it. They also have coffee, as well as gifts and candy. Open to the public not just the collage

I love this place for its appearance, warm atmosphere and beautiful merchandise.

Great for a university bookstore. The first floor is just like a typical bookstore with a cafe, books, and gifts. The second floor has school supplies, art supplies, and all the SLU apparel and merchandise. There are also couches and chairs on both floors which are great places to get some work done after grabbing a coffee from the cafe! The adult staff are friendly and helpful! (They hire SLU students which are usually nice too, but they switch so often that it is hard to review them as staff). A bit pricey, but what campus bookstore isn't these days

Beautiful store and inventory. Maybe a bit overcrowded when you first walk in. Items are highly HIGHLY overpriced though. Staff is a hit or miss- usually below average with curtesy and knowledge. They close WAY too early in the day.

Such a cozy and welcoming little book store! We always find something to buy here. There is a wonderful selection of books and many other great items such as their Vera collection of purses. I'm always browsing the books then buying coffee at the sit down cafe. Another thing that I love about this store is the cozy roaring fireplace! You have to visit here if you happen to be in Canton N.Y.

I love the choice of apparel for the Saints. It is easy to find something to wear proudly and support the team. The staff is always so helpful. It is a must to visit when ever you are on the campus.

This store is AMAZING, though dangerous. Be forewarned: you will find it hard to leave without buyng sometime perfect, after spending far too long lost in happy browsing. Things for babies through elderly, students, family, just for fun or high quality art supplies or for in depth reading....

Overpriced, but good and unique offerings. An excellent shop in the North country.

Not just a college bookstore, one of the best bookstores in the North Country. The whole first floor is basically what you'd expect from a nice independent bookstore then upstairs is all the usual campus bookstore stuff.

Fine brick and mortar book and gift store. Good selection of lots of items. Annoying that they compete with local business since they are tax exempt because of their St Lawrence affiliation.

As good as any bookstore in a larger city. Decent art supply section and general store selection too. Food too. I only misses a selection of study books but maybe I did not look hard enough

Been a fan since this store opened in the old Brewer Fieldhouse (a piece of the gym floor sits at the center).

Too bad Google and signs say open at 8am, only to be told store opens at 9am

A real book store! What's better than that. Extensive collection and willing to order what they don't have!

Perhaps the only place around this area to get some of the art supplies that I need from time to time, and a relaxing atmosphere.

I've always liked it here. The first thing you smell when entering is the coffee shop. A must stop for all your schooling needs.

Of course it's a wonderful place, but when I went over Christmas Eve for my decades long tradition of shopping their holiday sale, I was VERY disappointed that they had moved the sale to after the holidays. It was a special trip at a busy time, and what a bummer!

What a great place! Good coffee, helpful staff, wonderful selection of books, as well as gifts, cards, etc. Add a few sandwich-type items (fried egg sandwiches even) and it would be perfect!
