St. Laurence Catholic Church: A Place of Worship, Community, and Growth
St. Laurence Catholic Church is a vibrant and welcoming community located in Sugar Land, Texas. As a parish of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, we are committed to spreading the Gospel message and serving our neighbors with love and compassion.
Our church offers a wide range of programs and activities for people of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you are looking for spiritual guidance, fellowship with other believers, or opportunities to serve others in need, St. Laurence has something for you.
One of our most popular offerings is our Weekday Children's Programs. These programs provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn about God's love through age-appropriate activities such as Bible stories, songs, crafts, and games. Our dedicated staff members are passionate about helping children grow in their faith while having fun at the same time.
For elementary school students (grades 1-5), we offer CCE (Continuing Christian Education) classes that meet on Wednesday evenings during the school year. These classes provide an opportunity for children to deepen their understanding of Scripture and Catholic teachings while building relationships with their peers.
Middle school students (grades 6-8) can participate in EDGE (Encounter-Discipleship-Gospel-Evangelization), which meets on Sunday afternoons during the school year. EDGE provides a dynamic environment where young people can explore their faith through games, skits, small group discussions, prayer experiences, service projects,and more.
High school students (grades 9-12) are invited to join Life Teen on Sunday evenings during the school year.Life Teen is designed to help teens encounter Christ through dynamic liturgies,music,speakers,and small group discussions.Our goal is to empower young people to live as disciples who make disciples by sharing God's love with others.
In addition to these youth ministry programs ,we also offer numerous adult faith formation opportunities throughout the year.These include RCIA(Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults),Come & See retreats,bible studies,speaker events,and more.Our hope is that every member of our parish will continue growing in their relationship with Christ throughout their lives.
Of course,a big part of being part of any church community involves participating in various ministries,gatherings,and events.St.Laurence has many different groups that anyone can belong to.Some examples include Knights Of Columbus,Ladies Guild,Social Justice Ministry,Hospitality Ministry,Men's Club,Widows & Widowers Group,Couples For Christ,Faith Sharing Groups,and many more.Whatever your interests or talents may be,you're sure to find something that resonates with you here at St.Laurence!
