Came in for usual lab work.
Met before getting to the counter. Paperwork turned in. Asked to take a seat. Waiting area was no crowded. Very short wait time. Technician called me back. Introduced herself. Was very professional. Excellent job in drawing my blood. I again complimented CHI St Joseph on the skill in doing the sticking the best in hitting the vain a doing a near painless stick.
Area clean. People friendly and courteous.
Good visit.

Staff and doctors were great. Wait time for my outpatient surgery was not bad. I was taken back as soon as I was finished checking in. The nurses were very professional and polite, they took the time to listen to my concerns, and assisted accordingly. All the doctors were polite and understanding and made me feel at ease. I would definitely choose St. Joseph for any future procedures I may need to have.

My only request is to do the blood work before the annual physical. It would be nice to sit across from Dr. Hillner and hear his input on the results. Otherwise, it was efficient and positive.

I was waiting area of the ER from 10:15 am - 3:00 pm.
They took my temperature and blood pressure immediately and then did a EKG which was good. Then they put me in the waiting room. I noticed several people had been called back that arrived after me. I went to the desk and asked about that and I was told those people had minor issues and they needed to get them in and out quickly. This was a Thursday. I was sent to the ER by my regular physician (should have been a red flag to me which they confirmed) I had went to do blood work and chest x-ray late Wednesday afternoon. I had 104 fever at the doctor s office. Around 1:30 I was brought to an area where a nurse asked some questions about how I was feeling. I explained my situation and she told the person at the desk I needed to get in the room ASAP. They took me back to waiting area. After about 15 minutes they came and got me to do blood work and a x-ray. I then was sent back to waiting area. After some time the nurse that had done the blood work came and got me and and took me to a room. Which was right at 3:00. The doctor came in around 3:30 and told me I had pneumonia with Sepsis. They wanted to keep me. By 6:45 no room. I told them I was leaving and I would follow up with my doctor the next day. They would not give me medication since I was leaving without their approval.
I sat in that waiting room feeling very ill and was sent there by my doctor who had called them prior to my arrival and still was not seen until 3:00. I assume if more people had come in that they thought they could get in and out of there I would be still sitting there? Why are these people coming to the ER for a hurt hand or ankle (that I saw limping around, when it was convenient) when they could go see a doctor instead wasting the ER time for people who really need it.
