St. Ann Church and National Shrine: A Place of Worship, Reflection, and Community
St. Ann Church and National Shrine is a Roman Catholic Church located in the heart of New Orleans, Louisiana. As a part of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, St. Ann's has been serving the community for over 100 years with its mission to anchor faith in people's lives.
The church is named after Saint Anne, who was the mother of Mary and grandmother of Jesus Christ. St. Anne is known as the patron saint of mothers, grandmothers, and women in labor.
St. Ann's offers daily masses for those who want to attend mass regularly or just need some quiet time for reflection during their busy day. The church also offers confession services every Saturday afternoon before mass.
One unique feature that sets St. Ann's apart from other churches is its National Shrine status granted by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). The shrine honors Saint Jude Thaddeus as well as Saint Anne herself.
Saint Jude Thaddeus is known as the patron saint of hopeless cases because he was one of Jesus' twelve apostles who preached about hope even when things seemed impossible or bleak.
The shrine attracts visitors from all over the world who come to pray for healing or guidance during difficult times in their lives.
In addition to its religious services and events, St. Ann's also hosts various community outreach programs such as food drives, clothing donations, and volunteer opportunities at local shelters.
Staying true to its mission statement "Anchored in Faith - Your Soul...Our Mission," St. Ann's strives to be a welcoming place where people can come together regardless of their background or beliefs.
Whether you are looking for spiritual guidance or simply seeking a sense of community within your faith journey, St. Ann Church and National Shrine welcomes you with open arms!
