Very expensive for what you get. $169 for a day pass, that's more than I'd ever want to pay. Clearly Silicon Valley money at play here, but I have a hard time seeing the logic in "punishing" the people who actually show up with extreme pricing? Mammoth anytime instead

Great resort but I really don't thing the management were prepared for the weather and crowds. Online information was not being updated or was wrong, shuttle services were running at a fraction of the posted times, and several ski runs were closed even though many people were skiing them quite safely. Too early to tell.

Squaw still ranks as my favorite general focus, all-mountain mountain in California. It's got a ton of terrain, plenty of snow, great access to fast lifts and gondolas, and a proper resort feel for apres-ski. No wonder squaw has hosted seminal moments in NA skiing history with events like the '60s Olympics and many actual olympiads. Add the growing collaboration with neighboring Alpine Meadows, and you have thousands of acres of exciting snow playground. Not to mention that Squaw keeps it's lift and season passes more affordable then the competing Northstar resort.

Way too expensive for what it is. I really enjoyed it 10y ago when a day pass cost $65; went up 8-10 times a season. Not worth double the price though. The last few years I haven't spent a single dollar in Tahoe but prefer to go to Utah or Europe (if I have more time).

Squaw is a love/hate relationship. The mountain itself and its village are certainly the best in Tahoe. Squaw is truly a world class mountain. The problem is that most of the time, a majority of the mountain is closed to public. If you decide to go, understand you may not be able to ski what you want.

Great place to ski, it was easy to learn how to ski there, and the classes helped. There is a lot to do there, but like many other resorts almost everything is overpriced. All and all I had a great time there.

Classic Sierra crest ski resort that loves to stay open as late into summer as possible, July 4th weekend closing is normal. IKON pass discounts on food and merchandise all day any day. High Camp hot tub party is a spring ski must visit. SVAM parks crew works hard into summer, keeps the big jumps snow conditioned and plenty of rails.

Been coming here for years. My favorite place in Tahoe and in the American West. So glad this resort hasn't gone corporate ugly in the way other places have. It's friendlier, fun, varietal, and there is never a day where the beauty on the mountain isn't absolutely exquisite.

Great Skiing!

Great Skiing!

Skiers need to learn self-awareness and inform other skiers when entering the area.

The lift tickets are expensive, but there is so much great terrain at every level. You could ski KT-22 and the Headwall all day. Check the lift status before you head to the mountain. On a great day, be prepared to wait in lift lines in the morning. The food and post-ski options are average - we had very dry sandwiches and waited a long time for beer. My mom has had a bad experience with the ski patrol people here, so look out for your own!

TUBING SUCKED! They won't let you go tandem with another, jump on the tube, go on your stomach, or have fun at all! Even though you signed an insurance waiver that no matter what happens I you won't hold them responsible. So I tube at my own risk. Shouldn't that grant me the right to tube the way I want?

Great place for summer hiking in Tahoe. If you're looking to take a tram for "high-up" views during the summer, choose Squaw Valley over Heavenly. You can get quality lake views at free lookouts around the lake. You can't get mountain/meadow views like you get at the top of the tram at Squaw.

Last tram returns to the base village at 5:30pm so plan ahead. There's a ton of family friendly hiking at the top, and a small restaurant at the top too (although restaurants at the base village are probably better). Be sure to check out the Olympic museum!

I have been an avid supporter of Squaw valley not only as a visitor but as skier.

If the name is changed I will never set foot on your property.
This is an iconic venue with Olympic status.
To change the name would be a crime. We need to evaluate the crisis going on and make decisions that are not made due to pressure.

While the skiing here can be great, the early season is terrible and they offer no discounts for early season. We paid full price for 20% of the lifts open. Additionally, the majority of the runs during December are in the shade and completely icy. The staff seems preoccupied with catching up with their friends and smoking weed- there are exceptions, but the majority are immature and don't treat it like a job. All in all the worst ski experience I've had in 30 years of skiing (including Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Europe, and even back east in Massachusetts and Vermont. I waited 2 months to post this, but after an awesome day at Bear Mountain of all places, with peaks at only 8,500, I just realized I paid twice as much for Squaw, for only half the experience.

Loved the Tram ride and the Olympic village view from the peak which is at 9050ft .. The peaking view of Lake Tahoe was an added bonus.
Worth paying $46/ticket & you can ride as many times you'd like before it closes for the day.
