Perfect as long as you pick a fitting lodge. The earlier you book, the better price you will get. They have all types of buildings varying from 6 bunkers in a room and shared bathroom and a separate building for kitchen to rooms that look like 5 star hotels. This year we picked the Pines. The rooms are clean and each has its own bathroom with a conference room and a fridge. Free coffee in the reception is always available. The cafeteria here is really good as well (most of the time). The staff is very friendly. Von fire area available. Canoeing, zip lining, wild life center available at certain times. Might have to pay for zip lining. There are 3 hocking trails, I always tried the yellow and it was a lot of fun(as long

The food was not that great, not many options. The lunch was better than the dinner. Dessert was good and drinks. The rooms were nice, but myself and roommates were bitten by some insect (not sure if it was bed bugs). The sheets and the beds should be cleaned extra to avoid this from happening.

Spruce lake is a great place to spend the day alone or with friends and family. They charge a very low price to get in and once you pay you can stay the entire day. The trails are very well kept and the pool very nice. The one shortcoming that the camp has is it's game room is in very rough shape.

Spruce Lake Christian Retreat is anything but Christian. There is a diligence at this so called Christian Retreat to be rude to anyone of another ethnicity. This is the second time one of my children and their classmates have gone to this so called retreat and been treated with utter disrespect. I am still bewildered by the response given to my daughter that she was not allowed to use the elevators,"These elevators aren't for you." So exactly who are the elevators for? The acts of rudeness at the Cafeteria and stares of disapproval given by Staff and those staying at this retreat is almost a disgusting thought seeing that it is supposed to be a Christian Community and also that it's 2015. This proves to me that we haven't come very far at all. Maybe though when you think about it Christianity is not for everyone if you are of a different creed, color, or race proven this past week at Spruce Lake. I strongly suggest not visiting this place. Also, the one Star is deserving but the word hate isn't. I Strongly Disapprove Of Spruce Lake.

Spruce Lake is an amazing facility, a great place for retreats, and many amazing programs. My church often has a retreat here, and they have a great wilderness camp program for children of all ages, many of which become leaders in training, counselor staff assistants, and eventually counselors and expedition guides. Spruce lake is an amazing place and I would definitely recommend it.

We had our 3rd annual family reunion here and everyone had the best time! We stayed in the Spruce Lodge it was clean new and just beautiful. I can't say enough about the staff especially Emily who did so much accommodating our every need. She is so kind and has the patients of a saint! Mark is another stand out person who seemed to really care if we were being taken care of. He even gave me his cell # if we needed anything I mean Wow how great is that!!

The activities were endless no one was ever board! This is just some of stuff we did: mini golf, zip lining, rock wall climbing, kayaking, shuffleboard, swimming, hiking down beautiful trails. Sooooo much fun!! We go on vacation a couple of times a year and tend to cruise mostly i was so happy when my kids told me that they were having the time of their lives.

Thank you to everyone at Spruce Lake Retreat for a memorable family get together!!

Who doesn't like the Poconos? Pleasant hosts, simple rooms, solid farmer food with a nice salad bar at noon and the evening meal.

Beautifully manicured grounds, woods walk, miniature golf, zip line, and other amenities - as well as the trout-stocked lake itself - make it a good choice for Christian faith communities who want to gather for a weekend or a week away.

Note to fishers: a Pennsylvania fishing license is required.

My church has been planning all retreats at this location. Friendly staff, clean spacious rooms and plenty of things to do during free time. Location is a bit out of the way but fresh air is worth the trip. Also meals at the cafeteria is great compared to other locations we've been to in the past.

We've been going with our church for years. Through changes, updates, new buildings, etc and there have never been any issues. We look forward to coming here every year. The area is beautiful, the staff friendly, the food selections amazing, the sleep quarters comfortable , very clean and it's really great seeing the same people in others groups coming year after year too.

The first thing I noticed was how clean all the facilities were. Everything is kept clean, neat and in working order. The staff members were incredibly friendly and helpful. And the minigolf course was surprisingly big!

I'm almost 50 now but have such great memories of SLR.. Spruce Lake Retreat seems to have maintained its center as first a place of Christian fellowship then a camp. But it excels at both. Camp at Spruce Lake with your family. You will not be disappointed.
