I was very pleased with my experience at Spotsylvania Medical Center in early September 2021. I was able to pre-register and check-in was so easy. It is exceptionally clean and very new looking. The waiting area for my driver was very pleasant and large. I had a very short wait time to being taken and everyone was very professional and polite. I can't say enough about how nice a facility they have and the experience was excellent!

The staff is wonderful. Pleasant, accommodating and seemed to earnestly care about my needs. It was beautifully clean and everyone asked if they could be of assistance. My surgical staff was terrific and one nurse in particular, Katie, who was preparing me for surgery was wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about my visit there.

The services and staff at this hospital are amazing. From the first minutes there to the last, i was treated with respect and concern for my health. The nursing care is Outstanding. Erie and Andrew took care of me on the night shift. Both were very friendly and helpful. Renee the next morning was up for the challenges of the day. She stayed on top of my needs and got my bandages changed so the I could rest easy at home. Again the food that I was served is better than most restaurants in the area. Just fantastic all the way around!

I was disappointed in the in-processing and administrative activities for my pre-op testing. I was asked to sit near the front desk and someone would be with me soon after I provided some basic information. Later I was called to the desk using only my last name with no honorific (Ms., Mrs., or Miss) I felt like it was a cattle call. At 70+ years old I believe I deserve better than a 30 something calling me from behind an office window by only my last name. Once at the desk, I stood for better than 20 minutes as the receptionist typed up the paperwork for my lab tests and x rays. Even though my paperwork provided the doctor's name and contact information, 11 days later my physician still has not received the results of these tests and I am currently scheduled for surgery in 5 days. The nurses and technicians who performed the x-rays and diagnostic work performed in a professional manner and treated me with respect .

Very disappointed in the ER at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.
Took my daughter in law for adomal pain at 6:56pm on Thursday 10/7/21.
The staff wasn't all that friendly. The bathroom was really dirty. Never seen anyone cleaning even after a person left, They was checking a person for covid a few feet from us.
still no one cleaning up behind patients. they had us sitting in the back in a hallway, never got a room. No privacy what so ever. It took them 2 hours before bringing us a small cup of water.
We sat in hard chairs for 7 hours before they told her they keeping her over night.
I finally left at 2am , friday 10/8/21
Then they finally put her in a triage room and said it maybe a few more hours before taking her to a regular room..
The only thing they had going for this hospital was I was able to go in the back with my daughter in law and we got back there quickly and they tried keeping her pain under control.
I understand and respect the fact it took so long because they tried to do as many test, blood work, CT scan to see what was happen.
I'm sure it can be very stressful in the ER in a hospital at times, but this was a little ridiculous.
Very disappointed in the cleanliness and the lack of privacy.

Brought my wife in. She was initially seen very quickly and a battery of lab tests, X-ray s , CT scan were ran very efficiently. The Dr ordered an extra test as a precautionary measure that required her blood to be drawn again. Maybe we hit a shift change or something, but it sure seems that she was forgotten. Bringing it up to several passers by did not seem to help. We are still waiting 2.5 hours later.

Emergency room staff was very unattentive. The room I was in was disgusting there was old blood and the old acrylic nail, dust and hair on the floor. Even heard some staff talking about patients being babies about stuff. I had to stay in that hospital overnight and the nurses on the inside of the hospital have great bedside manner. I will never go back to that hospital nor recommend anyone else go no matter how short the waiting is.

I took an unexpected trip to the emergency room after a fainting episode. My ER nurse was fabulous. She was carrying, and gentle, and listened to my concerns carefully. While they were not equipped to do all the testing that I needed, the testing that they did do was appropriate. The creature comforts left a bit to be desired, but it is an emergency room. They did allow my husband to remain with me almost to the entire time, so that was helpful. I came in via ambulance and was immediately put into a room, so I did not feel worried about covid exposure. I do not actually live in the spotsylvania area, so I hope to not need to visit this facility again.
After reading a couple of the other reviews, I decided to add to my own. I was here on a Saturday night. After examination, I was referred to other specialists for follow-up. My ankle was x-rayed, and they determined that there was a small fracture. They adjusted my crutches, as well as watching me walk on them and assisting me to and in the bathroom. I was given pain medication in the ER. When I did not like the pain medication they proposed to give me, they did give me the particular medication that I requested my body would have a better response to. They stated that they would put in a prescription for Motrin to my local pharmacy, but I don't know if they did or not because everyone keeps that sort of thing at home.
The neurologist did not have a referral for me in the chart, but it was on my discharge papers, so I was able to get that issue remedied. The orthopedist could not find an actual fracture, but is not ruling out the possibility. Thus, I am still on the crutches that were sent home with me. I did receive a call a few days after my visit from hospital personnel. She did not have access to my charge and did not seem to know that I did not live in the area, but wanted to know if I was able to follow up with an orthopedist. So, I guess they're trying.
