Spokane Police Department Review

Watched someone steal from me, no help from police, had a police impersonator pressure money out of me and no help, facebook hacked and had proof on where the money went and no help. HOWEVER, as a senior I was woken up by the police being drilled on where mail went that was supposed to have been sent to my house. This person does not live here and does not have permission to sent it here. I was asked where it went to, how would I know. She was young, I'm old, is that it or what?

Spokane police department is compassionate and they handle situations case by case with due diligence.

This is the most worthless service spokane has to offer us for safety. Absolutly useless.

useless. i reported multiple times about threats of violence and theft. they never bothered to respond. and when the thieves showed up and took my model t parts several weeks later all we get is a run around. this is why people take matters into their own hands here. get with the program spokane.

Patrol Captain Thomas Hendren, who was very professional and helpful, guided me in applying for the body cam footage of the two officers who were present when I was rear-ended by a pickup. It's actually very interesting footage.

Zero Conflict Resolution Skills. Corrupt. Inefficient. Rude. Disrespectful. Loose-Cannon. Dangerous. Sinister. Useless. Hypocritical. Shameful. Bigoted. Discriminatory. Racist. Unprofessional. Petty. Worthless. Sleazy. Yellow Streak. Everything that you do not want from a police department or a "neighborhood watch" for that matter. That is the condensed version of this review. That goes double for the neighborhood watch and District 81 police that do not at all address gang activities or racial profiling that exists to the detriment of the community. Spokane is not a safe place for anybody at all. Trust that your tax dollars are better spent literally elsewhere. Spokane is really just a lost cause 1950's ghetto than it is a "place to live" or "Feel safe". And these people make such a conclusion justifiable. Get out of Spokane when the opportunity comes your way.

I was tailgated by one of your officers while driving home from work. I was going the legal speed limit while he was riding my bumper for nearly a mile. YOU ARE NOT ABOVE THE LAW. Either flash your lights so we know to move out of the way, or slow it down and drive safely.

Best Uber drivers in town, doesn t take me home but they always accommodate me on my ride, usually it s when I m drunk or yelling at my wife, but they always take me to their hotel and I receive the best service after a night of smacking my wife around

Hey SPD, you might want to ask whoever was driving unmarked-car #220 south on 12/8/19 just before noon at the corner of 16th and Perry what was so important. He didn't even notice my dog or I trying to cross the street because he was too busy texting with both hands. I'd have expected better from you people, you're the one's who are supposed to be enforcing the hands-on laws. I expect him to get AT LEAST the $136 fine I'd have gotten for the same offense, if not fired for failing to uphold his civil duty to obey and enforce the laws. He had, literally, one job.

I was going back home when a car was tailing me. For 3omins, l called the police right become l trun home, the trailer got arrested, tuen out he was an convict. Thank you for the quick response

What kind of police department doesn't answer the phone on the weekends?? Its left just an automated system saying call back Monday through Friday between 8 an 4 and hangs up. Great. I'm glad they are always there to help......

I would give this a zero if I could. My home was invaded twice and I was robbed both times. They only wanted to do a report on the phone. I had the names and information of the people that did this. But the police didn't care and didn't take down the information or follow it up. I was also harassed why I was walking down the street. I had a pants malfunction they kept slipping down. All of a sudden four patrol cars pulled up onto the sidewalk poignant guns at me because they thought I had a gun in my waistband. I did not have a weapon.Very disrespectful.

They put two snipers and a SWAT team on a group of Christian mothers, who were peacefully protesting outside a drag queen story hour. What cowards! What tools of the State! They should be ashamed!

If I could pick zero stars I would. This police department is beyond disgraceful. When a false claim is made against someone and they show up at your house and you try to explain the truth of the situation all they do is tell you to call someone else. Plus, if you are having a medical emergency, they stand around and just ask if you want them to call for medical assistance. Not actually call, but belittle you and provide zero help whatsoever. When calling because of drug activity in your neighborhood, NO ONE shows up. Where exactly is the serving and protecting?

A little tight on the handcuffs they put on me. But other than that very professional. And decent travel time to jail. Not too long of a wait. Will get arrested again by them in the future.

Horrible - Spokane Police department is a joke!! I had a $740.00 money order stolen and cashed - but my police department wont even take the case.. Move as fast as you can from this city

I had a car dolly stolen off the back of my pickup while i was at Lowes on North Division at the end of October. Long story short , after a month gone by and several messages left with the Officer and his supervisor i connect and no one had even gone to look at tape! He was suppose to look at it and let me know if he saw anything, but again after many messages left on his voicemail i have yet to hear ANYTHING!!!!! The need to do much better i believe.

People always stereotype police officers based off what they hear in media and give them negative publicity. I've seen some of these officers do incredibly amazing things for our community and have held a ton of public events to bring the community and our officers together to restore public trust and reduce negativity between one another. Everybody will have opinions. But I am a huge advocate for the SPD and thank all of our officers for their service.

I have called 3 times due to my neighbors playing their music and screaming and yelling and such since 1pm its now past 10 pm and my daughter is still awake 3 hours past her bedtime. As to their music so loud its a dance club in our living room over 100 feet away from the neighbors.
I have called 3 times and STILL no cops to tell them to turn the music off or down.
It takes 5 minutes to drive by and say turn it down. But yet no cop seems to have 5 minutes to do that. I call b.s.
Extemely disappointed that my 1 and half year old will not sleep tonight because of no officers making time.
Ridiculous. Do better.

Neighbor of mine says he has a Felony but I don't like the answer he gave as to how he got a Felony. I called the Police front desk they said "That is sealed information and they can't give it to me." So, how am I to know this guy isn't a mass murderer?

Gave them the plate of the guy who had been breaking into cars in our NW neighborhood and they did nothing. Tried calling, didn't return calls. What's the point of reporting?

Absolutely useless and criminal department, they don't respond to 911 calls, they grossly mishandle any one with mental instability, charge crimes based purely on here say with no attempts of an investigation, stop people and arrest them for asking why they were stopped. Personal vendettas and corruption run rampant here.

When I was 16, I got lost downtown and lost my car. I got stuck downtown until 3 am. And was harassed by multiple men. I called them and the operator told me that she would not send one of her officers just because I was getting harassed. Keep in mind I was 16 and 3 men in their 40's were following me and trying to grab me. I would give them 0 stars if I could.

Spokane PD is utterly worthless and corrupt. I say this as a supporter of law enforcement and someone who has knowledge of how a PD is supposed to operate. SPD is terrible, hence the very high crime rate in this city.

Apparently they are not teaching officers, properly, about civil rights. I've seen too many videos show officers violating these rights without any concern of repercussions to themselves or their department.

The worst ever lost my wallet with all my iI'd passport card medical cards and bank cards and crime check wants to only do a crappy report I want my property returned or the results spd will not like I will take the law into my own hands

I was rear ended in the hospital district by an uninsured driver on my way to see my dad who was about to have heart surgery. Officer Taylor Johnson was very professional and made sure to get me on my way asap so I could see my dad. I did not get the name of the other officer who responded but he was equally as professional not only with me, but with the other driver who was not what I would describe as a good citizen. Thank you also to the SFD who waited with me until the SPD arrived.

I live in a neighborhood in northwest Spokane. What I have seen of police conduct in this neighborhood has been very positive. You hear about police shootings in other cities, but I have been impressed by Spokane Police calm and judicious actions in potentially violent situations.

Glad my neck wasn't broken! How an unarmed 55 year old man having a severe diabetic low blood sugar reaction is a threat is beyond me. Excessive force - yes! Protection and service - no!

Took them a while to show up but after my neighbor hit r fence and didn't come back when they said they would to simply help push it back the cops that showed up helped bend it back into place that's all I wanted no need to go through all the insurance crud but of course after the cops helped me the neighbors finally came to apologize
