This was one of the top three worst behavioral health units I have EVER been to. While I do understand the importance of safety the rooms looked like an institution and the day area was very small and uninviting. The nurses and doctors were terrible. The doctor barely spent any time with you each day and thought what he had to say was far more important than what the patient had to say. Some of the nurses were rude and they all would mostly keep in their office and you had to wait until one of them noticed you looking in the glass before they would crack the window. Did NOT follow HIPPA and transferred a call to me without a signed release. DO NOT GO HERE. If you were to go anywhere in the state I would suggest you go to Mary Greely in Ames, IA.

Service was good. I'm not one to complain much but, when you get you statement which claims of a discount for prompt payment just hold your phone. The only way the discount is valid is if you call them first. If you don't they just keep your money. I work hard for what little I have. Wish they would say to call them for the discount rather than if you pay the full amount there is a discount. Guess it is a wording scam. As far as it goes they took me for about $400... Doesn't sound like much but it is a lot for me. MAKE SURE YOU CALL THEM BEFORE YOU WRITE THE CHECK!!!!

Wish I was able to give negative stars. VERY UNHELPFUL at the front desk. I didn't know where I was going and just got told a general area. I had to park far away and hobble in with a broken foot. Hopefully never have to use this hospital again. Spencer could learn a lot from the Storm Lake Hospital.

Was hooked up to an IV all prepped for surgery when director comes in and says the anesthesiologist canceled my surgery due to not having insurance or being able to pay all upfront. Now to me this is a bunch of bs. The entire time before surgery all everyone kept asking about was money and the cost of operation. Here I lay sick and thinking they are here to help me feel even a little better and all they care about is getting paid. But because I was not dieing or something they refused to do my surgery 15 min prior to being taken back for scheduled operation.

Took my boyfriend to spencer hospital emergency room dr Parker was the dr we did not like him from the min he entered the room he acted like we were a burden to him sorry Dr that is part of your job if you don't like working as a dr or can't have any better bed side manners then change your profession

I spent five days in the hospital and the staff were nothing but kind to me and my family. The rooms are large and it has some of the best food that a hospital can have!

Staff is friendly and helpful. Attentive to your needs. Great with kids. Coffee, water, snacks availanble, vending machines. Looks very modern and up to date. The Dr was informative and available to answer any questions you had.

The northwest Iowa bone joint and sport. Me and my husband are very good customers.The x ray lady that took my x rays today was rude. Yes I didn't have an appointment. But she used my very good insurance. So I am a patient.

Always great care, whenever I have had to stay there. Fantastic nurses, ALL of the staff, no matter what department.
