I have been a member for about 2.5yrs now. I enjoy being here at this particular one (Spears). They always made my family and I feel welcomed here. We have put our boys (3yrs at the time) in swimming classes and the swim instructors that we had; has been great and patient with our boys. Although we have not ventured into the sports arena here at Spears yet, but only time will tell, but for now; like I stated above we have not yet have any negative vibes when we walk through the doors of Spears YMCA.

Yesterday went at YMCA to ask about their membership programs also personal training, how disinterested front office staff was you can t imagine as if they are paying to public to take the membership, lol . Lady who assisted us was super rude. She didn t give a facility tour or any other information, we have to ask her about the Benefits and other complimentary classes that comes with the membership. So today I am going to cancel the membership also for personal training they choose the trainer for you. Again you are paying $40 for an hour with membership. No free trial or any thing just fill the form and we will get back to you.

Love this YMCA, especially the fitness instructors and the child watch staff. I love that childcare is included in an adult membership, without the need to purchase a family membership if you are the only one actually using the gym facilities. The fitness classes are great, the bathrooms are clean, the front desk staff are friendly. The only negative is the parking situation---sometimes it is so crowded, its difficult to find a parking spot.

I've been a member for quite a while and don't use it because it's inconvenient, typically crowded with kids, and there's no racquetball. But the other reviewer's comments regarding customer service ring true with me as well. That is, it's not a customer-service oriented place. It's difficult to get the attention of the front desk folks, or anybody in the gym to assist with using the equipment, and when I just called to terminate my membership I was transferred into oblivion.

Edit-- Bumped up the rating one star based on the courteous response I received to an email I sent. It's still disappointing the emphasis the facility has on basketball courts, and the absence of racquetball courts, but if basketball with kids is your thing, this just might be the place for you.

Really enjoy working out here. It is a nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly people all around, both the people exercising and also the staff. They have a good variety of exercise programs. The pool is a really decent size and never seems to be overcrowded. The facility is always clean.

The opportunity for outdoor group exercise classes...

The opportunity for outdoor group exercise classes has been a real lift as social distancing drags on. They are a great way to stay safe and still be motivated by working out with other people.
