Very nice lodge, bar and nice restaurant across the road. We stayed during the winter, snowing outside and it was very peaceful place. Jacuzzi available in some rooms. Hotub outside, even when snowing. Very romantic getaway. Snowmobiling available in the winter. In the summer, Roughlock falls is right there near by. Many trails too.

Loved everything about this lodge! The staff were all very friendly and attentive to the guests.

Plenty of snowmobiles for rent, but I would still try to book in advance for more options.

The lack of cell service made the experience even better, as we could truly disconnect.

The hiking trails brought us to incredible views of the canyon and although a bit tricky we're still available in Winter.

If you decide not to stay, at minimum take the scenic drive to their restaurant. Best food in the area. Bison stew was tasty, the fresh walleye was prepared to perfection among other meals we had being spot on.

I am not someone to travel to the same place twice but we will be back. Thank you to all who made our winter vacation wonderful!

It's great! We stayed here for a recent snowmobiling trip with some family members and our experience was wonderful. The lodge has such a warm feel to it and the restaurant food was great too. We loved that the sleds were clearly maintained well which made us more much comfortable going out on our own. We'll be back for sure. Thanks again!

We have spent several nights in the lodge and enjoyed the beauty of the Canyon. The rooms are nice and the restaurant and bar have been wonderful. Many things to do in the Canyon and the Lodge has the ability to rent you a snowmobile, atv, or a slingshot... After a long day gazing at the stars from a rooftop hot tub is a wonderful way to top off a day. There is a wonderful gift shop with something for everyone. There is a wonderful trail behind the lodge to the falls. So day use is even something to keep in mind.... It is a special place anytime of year with helpful people people who can make any gathering a special time. We enjoy celebrating our anniversary here and we will continue to....

We had a lovely 4 day stay here in early May. Food at the Latchstring Inn was incredible; I enjoyed trout three ways, including grilled with dill for breakfast. On Thursday night there were very few guests, but the numbers increased with Mother's Day weekend. Beautiful waterfalls are only short hikes (about a mile round trip) from the road. There are more extensive hikes for those who want them. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were comfortable. Ours had a great view of the creek and a canyon wall. We had two beautiful days with a high of 70 degrees, and then two days with some rain and even a few snowflakes as temps dipped into the 30's and 40's.

My family and I stayed over Christmas and absolutely loved this place! The lobby was decorated perfectly and had the fire going all the time. Very cozy to read or play games. One of the best things is your dog is welcome here!! Staff was always very helpful and kind. The facilities and grounds are gorgeous. We came through Rapid City and then Spearfish where the temperature was close to 50F. Came to the lodge and it was a winter wonderland the entire time. If you are looking for a cozy, wintery destination, this is it!!!

Had an excellent stay in early October. The lodge is beautiful, and the Calamity Jane suite was an incredible room. Great location for access to several different hiking areas and fabulous scenery. Not far from the Sylvan Lake area for some of the best trails around---Sunday Gulch, Cathedral Spires, and Little Devil's Tower.

This is one of my favorite places to stay anywhere. It is so beautiful there surrounded by forested canyons and a creek comes right through. Wonderful lodge and warm atmosphere makes you want to stay there forever! Right next door is a rental outfit that can set you up with atvs or slingshot or snowmobiles and head out on the hundreds of miles of trails you can access right off the back of the property! And there is a wonderful restaurant there as well, you have to try the buffalo stew!
