A great school district with excellent music, art and sport programs. One of the reasons we moved here.
Reidville elementary school is an exceptional school. Class sizes are almost half of what Greenville county is, teachers aren t overwhelmed with teaching 6 subjects... teachers divide the subjects so they can develop the lessons and not rush through them, students are less stressed and my children say the children are much better behaved as well. The school is brand new, beautiful and well organized. The teachers and office personnel are so personable and accommodating. I can t say enough about it.
Having previously home schooled both of my children, well I was very pleased with the whole school system. I am impressed that they were able to precisely figure out the special needs of our children and assist radically in their growth. I just absolutely can brag enough on my daughter's teachers and well my son did really well too. Thank you all!
By far the sorriest school district i have ever had to deal with. They kick kids out like it ain't nothing then want you to home school. I am a mother of 4. I don't have time to be a teacher. I have to work to pay my bills unless they want to give me teacher's salary and i would gladly except even though i don't have the education to teach. I truly hope my kids succeed and District 5 sure want get a thanks from me.
The only thing that the superintendent and the principles of any District 5 school cares about is Byrnes High School football and other sports programs they couldn't care less about your children or their education as long as Byrnes keeps winning football games and they keep making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. If teachers want to complain that they need raises they need to look at the salaries of their principals their football coaches and their superintendent's and ask them why they need so much money.
Worst school district ever, my advice to you is to not send your kids here.
This is the worsest district I ever had to deal with when it comes to transaction I ve called transportation SEVERAL times about my daughter who is only 11 getting dropped off in the middle of the road they keep telling me the same thing that she is to get picked up and dropped off at the same stop unfortunately in the afternoon she does not get dropped off at the bus stop she gets picked up at instead she gets dropped off in the middle of the main road and has to walk that main road till she comes to our street not only is that dangerous but nowadays they are so many kids being kid napped and I see district 5 transportation does not seem to care about these kids and where they get dropped off at just cuz it s not there own child I think it s ridiculous that nothing has been done about this situation for weeks already by far the worst district I ever had to deal with when it comes to the transportation office.
