It's understandable, their job is safety, and.. niceness is not a requirement. But, neither is treating people, like subhuman trash.

Avoid driving/ going through Sparta township, if you can. Getting a ticket, can be a dehumanizing experience.

The surrounding towns citizens, will all tell you, about their experiences with Sparta officers.

I didn't get the name of the officer but thumbs up to the guy who ran to the station to get a booster pack when I stalled my motercycle on the highway and killed the battery trying to restart it after running out of gas.

The operator on the non emergency line answered quickly and asked the right questions to make the response time as quick as possible.

I had the officer arrive under 10min to my location on route 10 South near mile marker 18

I managed to get home without having to call a tow truck thanks to the officer that helped out July/14/2019 around 5:15PM

They do the best they can, nobody's perfect. They are trying to keep people safe as best they know how. Their hard work helps keep peace and is for everybody's long term benefit. Again, mistakes are made because life is like that. I speak from experience as I've said things I later regret, and I face nothing of the dangerous challenges they face. Safety and peace to all.

Officer gave me a speeding ticket for going six miles over the speed limit as well as a ticket for obstruction of view from a car freshener as well as one saying they couldn t see me license plate because of a little frame surrounding the license plate I was extremely polite to the officer from the first minute but it was the end of the month so I guess he was needing to reach his quota like the good pig he is

Why can t I give this place less than one star? This police force is BEYOND RACIST! Apparently driving while black is illegal in Sparta N.J. My husband has been pulled over and told that they didn t have to give him a reason for pulling him over, however he still had to show his license! They ve given him tickets without actually giving them to him! Yup you read that right. He was told go ahead and go have a nice day. We realized the officer gave him a ticket when the judge issued a bench warrant for failure to show up to court! They ve pulled my entire family out of our car on multiple occasions! Accused him of being on the phone when I had his phone. They ve told him to shut the duck up in front of our children! They just pulled us over after driving. Behind us for 15 minutes! They waited until he was in Sparta township to pull him over and then gave him tickets they didn t even tell him about! Do yourself a favor! Don t come through here they will give you a ticket, they will harass you and they don t want you here.

I was so excited to attend the Lake Mohawk Christmas event today for the very first time. I am not from the area and not familiar with the main streets in Sparta. I have a special needs son and found a handicap parking spot right in front of the event. The couple leaving the spot was taking longer than expected but I was pulled all the way to the right, with my signal on and not blocking traffic behind me. There was a police officer directing traffic at the intersection that began signaling me to move forward. I opened my window to explain to him that I was waiting for the spot and he rudely responded screaming for me to move on. I then pulled my car next to the vehicle that was still in the spot who told me they were leaving and that I can have the spot. Another police officer pulled up next to me and again began to forcefully scream at me to move. Needless to say I was close to tears. I could not understand why they were so insistent as I was not imposing on any traffic nor was I putting anyone in danger. I was waiting to park in a HANDICAP parking spot.
I truly understand that it can be very stressful for police officers to keep everyone safe but I certainly did not deserve to be treated in such a harsh forceful rude way. This event is for 2 days and brings income to Sparta. I would think that they should welcome all visitors and treat them with patience and understanding . I will NEVER attend again.
