Our ARNP, Carlie Felion was absolutely fantastic, she glued our 11 month old daughter's finger right back together without even waking her up from her nap. The staff and providers were so kind and helpful, even giving us a spare diaper which we forgot in our rush to the clinic. Thank you again for fitting us in and making us feel right at home.
Terrible emergency room care. Takes hrs. for a Dr..to get involved and usually miss diagnosed. Been this way for quite awhile wife sent home from c-section with infection that left a terrible scar, sons knee and foot fracture, shoulder fractures misdiagnosed. It's worth the commute even in an emergency to find a more competent medical facility!
Visiting from Texas, I had to use the ER at 5:00 am on a Sunday morning. The staff was incredibly nice, competent, efficient and professional. I was seen immediately. Great service from all of the staff.
Thank you SVMC! We Stopped in to get an X-ray on my daughter s hand on our way up to a ski weekend. We were in and out in an hour. From the receptionist, to the nurse and PA and X-ray technician, everyone was super kind and helpful from beginning to end. Thank you!
My son's first pediatrician. Nothing but good experiences. Dr. Hagan came to visit us in the hospital when he was born and we were super happy with every visit afterward. We would still be patients here if we had stayed in Vermont!
My wife and I have both been treated there and found the staff to be outstanding. Building and grounds are keeped up very well nice all around.
All of the nurses are great there! Some of the drs are too. But when it comes down to something severe some drs just don't give compassion at all. I had one tell me oh ur here all the time. Yea I was here 3 times in one week because my head felt like it was going to explode and guess what? No one ever did any testing and come to find out it was meningitis....now I'm back with the same probs and I haven't had any relief and no help. But my concern in the right side pain I've been having and it's traveling farther and every time I eat it gets worse but no one can seem to find out what's wrong. Dr Cohen is a great Dr and all the nurses are very caring. So they would have the 5 stars but the other drs make it hard. :(
I had the worse experience at their emergency room tonight that I have ever had.
I had to go to the ER for a glass cut while on vacation in this area. I am super impressed by the staff and doctors. It took them less then 2 hours to get me all stitched up after x-rays. In my area in NY it would've taken triple the time.
October 8, 2020, I was an outpatient at your wonderful hospital. Working in healthcare for 30 years, in a much larger facility in Ct., I was so delighted to see the absolute professionalism from all of the hospital staff I encounter. From scheduling my procedure, Laurie Reyes, RN., & Mollie McMahon, R.N.going above and beyond to accomodate me, Jacqui, Aleshia and Michelle all R.N.s in the O.R., my two Anesthesiologist and importantly Dr. Qamar. All them so friendly and all very attentive and knowledgeable. I would recommend SVMC to anyone and small does not mean any less professional care. Wonderful job all of you and I am thankful you are going to be my local healthcare facility. Kudoes! Thank You so much all.
My family and I have gotten very good care at this hospital. The staff was very professional and competent each time we have needed hospital care in Bennington.
First aftrr giving my insurance information receptionist comes out and asked me when I retired or if I got government assistance
What's with that? I have Medicare and blue shield. Then waited for almost 2 hours,never saw a Dr.I went there to make sure that whatever was going on in my eye wasn't the onset of a stroke. I left, never to go there again. Worse hospital experience ever.
I have never in my life experienced such horrific healthcare. The emergency room is a waiting room for auditions for a circus act. First, not ever have I witnessed a single person from the staff wash their hands. The staff does not listen to the patients, I guess they feel they know everything. Which gets me to the next complaint, lack of privacy. The staff not only ignored my concerns they ignored the people around me as well. Dismissing their concerns. I'm pretty sure I'm not suppose to hear the complete history and complaints of another pt.. I know what medications other people are on, their address and whatever else there is to know. There was one poor pt complaining about a headache. Well apparently she has been in a few times before and without revealing why she had a headache they pretty much said you had those test last month why are you even here. Drs words not mine. Taking into consideration her primary diagnosis I'm pretty sure she needed a other round of test. Well if you're reading this and you want the world to know your problems this will be the place to be. HiPPA. Will just love this place. I felt like I was in high school. The staff along with ambulance staff were literally bad talking another pt and I believe their child was there listening to it all. I sure hope that was reported. How dare you say anything about about a patient you cared for, no matter what you think. You people are disgusting. If I had a chance I would file a complaint myself, but I dont know the parents and it's none of my business. Another woman lie there I am assuming for a long time. She was elderly and asked how much longer. The nurse I guess said that a bus pulled up and they took priority. The woman said how are they any more important then I. She replied well there is an emergency.and all of the staff is required to care for her. That was an outright lie. There was more staff in the middle of the er talking and laughing having a great ole time. There were empty rooms. I will never return to that hospital and if I accidentally get bought there I will demand be transferred another hospital my family knows this as well. I wouldnt feel comfortable bringing my pets there. It's a Mockery of the healthcare system. I've been to under developed countries that have better healthcare. The excuse is always the same, it's a country hospital it's hard to get good staff. Well first you just admitted to how horrible the care is and second other providers in other places say it's a joke avoid if possible. Who's the administrator? Oh dont complain that the er is to small, you have so much waisted space, I think it's about time for a remodel. Awful just awful!
The emergency department gets 5 stars. They are amazing! I had to spend a number of days there once and I couldn't have been treated better. The "express care center" is not so good. I waited 3 hours to be seen one time and when finally seen I was seen by a nurse only. Don't go to express care.
The worst emergency room I have ever been in! The nursing staff is great but the doctors are the worst... To the point of being deadly. My parents had to have me air lifted down to NYC or I would have died at their hands in Bennington. This hospital is like horror movie.
ER extremely long wait. Hit or miss with good doctor's.

This place is the greatest hospital.Vending machines are way to expensive though.Staff helped my MOM in every way possible.
Not a big fan of this hospital...Many of the staff is very rude and/ or have no clue what they are doing...They are very slow at giving care even in emergency situations ..I mean some of the nurses and doctors are ok and the technicians as well I guess it's all in who cares for you or your family ...I do understand that the staff is under alot of pressure with everything they have to deal with in a shift but it's a part of their job.. I guess I'm a bit judgemental but I've seen alot of things that could have been prevented over the years and it's unacceptable..I honestly don't think I would want to be brought to this hospital if it was a life or death situation...I'd rather be at Samaritan or AMC ...But hey that's just me everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
My wife arrived there by ambulance with acute back pain and muscle spasms. The pain was so severe should could not even walk. They took her in and administered drugs and then tried to x-ray her but she was in too much pain. After several hours they were able to get an x-ray and said they could not see anything wrong. She was given prescriptions for pain and muscle relaxer and sent home after 8 hours in emerg. During all this time, they did not believe the severity of her pain and even went so far as to infer that I was abusing her. They deduced that I was an "angry man" just by looking at my very normal facial expression. We moved on to Knoxville where she saw an Orthopaedic specialist who found that she has pinched nerves in her lower back due to mild disc bulging on 5 vertebrae. She was then given proper medical treatment and is now recovering. The Vermont facility should have seen this and treated it accordingly at the time.
My son hurt his foot. The x-ray showed a small fracture. They put a cast and gave him crutches. The works. Two days later saw the orthopedic and his words were the emergency room went overboard took the cast off and told us no need for the crutches. Just take it easy. Then we get the bill for ER visit over $500. Not sure exactly for what I requested an itemized bill but never received it.
Today I got a notice from a collection agency but no explanation for a bill. I m sure the bill reflects charges that were not needed if an orthopedic had reviewed the x-ray. Just charges for my insurance and me to have to pay.
We will be traveling west towards Albany for emergency room visits from now on. Can t be any worse. We will be paying the bill because apparently that s the most important thing to them. Pay blindly because not itemization has been provided.
Your better off going to Albany Medical, Berkshire Medical or Dartmouth Medical because SVMC does not have the staff or expertise to perform quite a few medical procedures that a medical center should have.
Wait far to long for an emergency department staff is snotty and have no compassion my husband went there and waited 45 mins in waiting room thwn another 2 hours in a er room never seen a dr or a nurse other than the shotty nurse that triaged him stuck him in a room and lwft him sitting there for 2 hours with no communication from anyone but the receptionist to get his info to bill out inaurance we left after 3 wasted hours so worth the trip to another hospital... Staff is/was rude and have no compassion at all for people.
