About Southwestern electric cooperative
Southwestern Electric Cooperative: Providing Reliable and Affordable Energy Solutions
Southwestern Electric Cooperative is a not-for-profit, member-owned cooperative that has been serving the energy needs of residential, commercial, agricultural and industrial members in 11 counties along the I-70 corridor between St. Louis, Mo., and Effingham, Ill. for over 80 years. Based in Greenville, Ill., Southwestern Electric is committed to providing reliable and affordable energy solutions to its members.
As a member-owned cooperative, Southwestern Electric operates on a different business model than traditional utilities. Instead of maximizing profits for shareholders or investors, Southwestern Electric's primary goal is to provide its members with safe and reliable electricity at the lowest possible cost.
One of the key benefits of being a member-owner of Southwestern Electric is that you have a say in how the cooperative operates. Members elect their board of directors from among their peers who serve as volunteers without compensation. This ensures that decisions are made with the best interests of members in mind.
Southwestern Electric also offers several programs designed to help its members save money on their energy bills while promoting energy efficiency. These programs include rebates for high-efficiency appliances and HVAC systems as well as free home energy audits.
In addition to providing reliable electricity service at competitive rates, Southwestern Electric is also committed to giving back to the communities it serves through charitable donations and volunteer work by employees.
If you're looking for an energy provider that puts your needs first while also giving back to your community, consider becoming a member-owner of Southwestern Electric Cooperative today!
