I don t know much about the other schools, but Southwest Elementary school is the WORST school I ve ever dealt with. Walking into the school not one person greets you with a smile, they re all extremely rude at the front desk & the teachers tend to have the worst communication skills. I am so thankful my kids no longer attend this school.

Excellent school! A mixture of students from farms and urban areas. One of 4 schools in the state to offer an Aviation Program from full assembly of Cessna Tomahawk to aviation flying. Faculty and administration cares about their students.

Southwest H.S really surprised me with their staff and programs for students. My niece is graduating this year after leaving NEISD so we didn't know what to expect. They really exceeded our expectations at this school. Can't wait to have my own kids attend this school and join their outstanding programs. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They have also gone above and beyond to make the graduates feel special and proud through this Covid-19 shutdown. Her counselor and teachers were in contact periodically to help in any way. #Go Southwest Dragons!

First, let me start by saying if I could rate this...

First, let me start by saying if I could rate this school district a zero that's what I would have done. I want to let everyone know as the parent of a student at Southwest Legacy High School that this district and school doesn't have any students best interest in mind. Here is a little synopsis of why Southwest needs to do better for all students. There is a coach by the name of Homer Flores who coaches at the school and also has a son who goes there as well. My child was on Varsity, however, wasn't getting playing time because supposedly Mr. Flores son out shines every one else on that team as he never sits out, plays every ending not matter what kind of day he is having. I didn't know we were back in T-Ball where so called coaches could have this type of favoritism in high school but let a lone with their own child. How fair is it for this so called coach to be able to teach and coach his own child, but not only teach or coach him but also place him on Varsity and play him every ending because that's his son... go figure!! Also, want to mention that they don't live in the district, however, because Mr. Flores works at the school it's a benefit that the school district provides to their employees. Well... OK... that's the excuse they want to give the parents of students who actually live in the district and can't easily pack up and move to another district because of how dissatisfied they are with the school district. I just can't understand how they treat hard working, dedicated students that want to accomplish their passion for sports in such a way. My child is not only talented in sports but also has phenomenal academic scores. So I went to express concerns to administration and had a conference with them and Mr. Flores about the favoritism Mr. Flores has with his son and let me tell you what Mr. Flores does in return to change his uneducated and selfish ways is by moving my child down to JV so that he doesn't have to hear us anymore. Not only is he providing favoritism to his child and impacting my child and all students the ability to succeed but he has now retaliated against him. Southwest has a strategic plan that consist of 6 goals and one is creating social-emotional environment that is suppose to empower students to do better but Mr. Flores isn't doing that for any student but only for his own son. The district has to come up with a plan for teachers or coaches to not be able to teach or coach their own child to avoid this from happening to any other student in the future. Not only does this type of unprofessional behavior impact students emotionally but also mentally and for that this is called bullying from Mr. Flores. I will continue to express concerns and be vocal as this situation is a not only a disgrace to the district but should be a conflict of interest because Mr. Coach Flores is a disgrace to our students and athletes. To end hopefully one day Mr. Flores will read this and know and feel horrible like he has made my child and any other students feel. Mr. Flores needs some type of training in child development and psychological courses so he can do better in his role.
