Winter of 2021 I started taking English 122 at Southern New Hampshire University online. I started this process over at 52 years old and decided to pick Southern New Hampshire because of the treatment in the beginning. Everyone was extremely nice and so welcoming. I had not made a decision until about 3 days before the start of the term. I got an e-mail from my recruiter MS She wrote me this nice e-mail that they do not have all my transcripts but we can still get moving. They sent me a e-mail that said that if I took one class it would be zero out of pocket cost to me. If I took two classes it would be $362.00 out of pocket. I told her why would, I not take one class if it is free. Now comes the interesting part. Being 52 and starting over I was a bit overwhelmed with what was happening. The financial aid people called and you need to release your loan. I said I did not take out a loan. There was no mention of a loan. The email said it was no money out of pocket. Why would it be a loan. This has been ongoing for 8 weeks. MS by this time is now handing me off as she got me to sign up for classes even though it was not truthful how it was done. I complained and was sent to a person by the name of SW. I m a first term student with two years to go which means a lot of money for the school. According to the school policy they will look into issues and include you in the decisions and come up with ways to work things out. Not in my case I was not contacted and I was told by SW my case was closed and the cost was the cost and I was aware of it prior to the drop class time. I left two voice mails prior to the decision and SW did not bother to call back. I then went to her boss MA Associate director of dispute resolution including the president of the University on my e-mail. It has been two business days and have not heard a word from the president of the school on my concern. On Monday, 4-27-2021 I received an e-mail no phone calls from MA director of dispute resolution that my case is closed and nothing more was going to be done. They claim that MS was okay to give me information like this and that everything was explained to me over the phone by the financial aid department. Which is not true. When you hear there is no out of pocket to you it means it cost zero according to the Webster dictionary. My 0 out of pocket and $362.00 has now went to $960 for one class out of my pocket. If you have had the same issues I would love for you to reach out as I m moving forward in a different way. It is only for those who have been told one number and gotten another number that is a bait and switch. My class was good and experience was good. I do not plan to attend SNHU for this one and only reason of them not standing behind an email I sent them. It was a true B&S game to get me as a student. They have now lost me as a student and I plan to pursue all options moving forward. I would like you to be a part of that if you have had the same issues. The university President is extremely protected from calls and does not return emails. It is simply amazing the number of one stars they have received on google. They responded to everyone the same. I would be curious out of all the ones what percentage of those issues have been fixed or resolved. I bet it is less then five percent. Good service runs down hill it starts with school president.

I am 3 years in and have a year left. So far, it is rare to find a instructor that loves teaching. Which makes it tough for the student want to learn and move forward if we get the wrong person. I just had instructor that would not work with me, didn't answer my question, and reach out to see for help the second time and no response. After dispute, all I get is thank you for disputing. I'm spending money on a class and then I don't get anything from it because a instructor wouldn't work with me? I'm sorry but I don't recommend this school online. You might as well go to Udemy or Skillshare for similar experience. I hope SNHU does better eventually and they can learn from people's thoughts and concerns.

My experience with SNHU has been a positive one. I started my degree in Accounting and ultimately switched to Cyber security. The courses were challenging and informative. The vast majority of instructors were excellent and added additional value to the classes. It should be noted that with any online school, you get what you put in as most of the learning is self directed. If you like/need lectures and a lot of direction...this may not be your best option. They do offer a brick and mortar campus though. A lot of people seem to wonder if the degree holds value to an employer. My experience is it 100% does. After getting my bachelors I was offered an excellent job (substantially over entry level salary) with other perks (company vehicle, work from home 16 hours/ week, plenty of room for growth, etc). While this is my personal experience, it is not unique. Many people I know also have landed excellent jobs. I would say it is more about what field you are entering, where you are searching, and what you have to offer. Another benefit is the cost. Tuition did not go up a penny throughout my entire time there and some classes do not require books that cost the student any money at all. Worth a look.

Terrible experince with this University. I was quickly admitted and given no real guidance on how to navigate the online courses. There was no help from the academic advisor when I was struggling with a class after I notified him.

The Financial Aid office is also really difficult to work with. I do not recommend this University to anyone.

I've taken 6 classes here so far. All the instructors have been invested in their classes and get grades back in a timely manner. Each course is 8 weeks long. There is reading and discussions due weekly along with some other type of assignment (journal, quiz, etc.). Towards the end of a course 1 or 2 final projects will be due. I was afraid of this college being a joke but, I've worked really hard for the grades I've gotten so far. My advisor has been wonderful as well. He emails me back within 24 hours and calls me from time to time to check in. But, some of the administrative departments, like student finance could be better. You have to really advocate for yourself which can be difficult for first generation college students. Books are cheaper than brick and mortar schools, you just go online to buy them. Overall, it's a convenient option for me.

OMG run as fast as you can .

OMG run as fast as you can .
This school does an excellent job of getting you in the door but once your hooked in they leave you to fend for yourself. For starters I had an Instructor so rude and biased behaving I literally am still in therapy behind his abuse. I decided to withdraw and made sure to follow all the appropriate steps to make sure that I left in good standing and didn t have any debts. Sure enough after I checked out and was told all was well months later I get a bill saying that because I didn t respond to a request for verification for financial aid that I owed for the classes I took the prior term. Not only that but the way that they requested the Information was through my student email account that I did not access post withdrawal. Just a way to get money from people and ruin the lives of folks trying to return to school to earn a degree. Very unethical and disgusting practices. Beware!!!!!

RUN AWAY. HORRIBLE is an understatement. It is a cheap quality school. They don t teach but it is a correspondence school. Just post things online with no substance. My friend had a very bad experience with Human Resources Management instructor. The dean is not available to students on phone. The teacher Lough is her name has a horrible, prideful attitude. She is as biased as nothing and teaches Human Resources Management. My friend submitted her final Paper to her but pressed the wrong button to upload assignment. She uploaded wrong assignment. She resubmitted the right one. She was told it s late and would not accept the paper and failed her the whole class. Gave her an F. Wanted her to pay again and repeat the class in this horrible college. She transferred to a sensible school and she is happy. It is a nightmare and disaster school.. ..disastrous is an understatement

I cannot speak for campus life I can only speak for on line learning! I am a single parent of two children one who has severe autism. I was hit with tragic circumstances I was an essential worker and I got struck with Covid 19 then unknowingly I passed it on too my children. I was sick so we re my children I had to take off work for months and I had to take off school. It was not at all planned I pay for school with loans so I didn t want to loose my opportunity. I only had 7 classes left for my bachelors I had to write an appeal which I poured out my heart to them and told them the truth about everything, they denied two appeals and I lost my opportunity for my degree and now am a single mom in student loan debt. It was sad that the school didn t do more to help especially due to my circumstances. They were quick to take my money with no remorse and leave me in debt with out my degree. I suggest you be very careful with this school they paint a beautiful picture to the world but are really about money not students. I will be attending university of Phoenix online they were sympathetic to my story and understood the circumstances I had to face! Shame on this school I give the online learning one star. The only good thing about this school was that a handful of advisers actually cared.

Beware of this University. I was excited to attend Southern New Hampshire. I was supposed to graduate this year and instead my life was turned upside down and I was left with a balance over $8,000. During COVID my State which is Michigan was on a strict stay at home order. Around that time the Department of Education requested a notarized Statement of Identification form which I could not provide, being that everything including the courthouse was closed. This resulted in my money being sent back and me being left with a balance for classes I had already completed. No matter what I say they refuse to listen and their appeals department keeps denying me. Up until then I was pleased with the school. Now I am disappointed and feel they don t stand by their values. I work full time, and I am a single mom of two disabled children. I can t believe after working so hard all these years my educational journey would ve turned out this way due to no fault of my own. If you want a University with understanding and compassion employees who aim for the success of their students please look elsewhere.
