I BOUGHT A USED LOWER UNIT WITH A 1 YEAR WARRANTY, AND COME TO FIND OUT WHEN THEY REMANNED IT THEY DID NOT REPLACE ALL THE PARTS, CAUSE THE WATER LEAKED IN AND MIXED WITH THE GREASE. THEY TOLD ME TO GET A PRESSURE TEST, THOUGHT THEY WOULD PAY FOR IT SINCE THEY BROUGHT IT UP. I ENDED UP PAYING FOR THE PRESSURE TEST TO FIND WHERE IT WAS COMING IN FROM. THEN THEY WANTED ME TO PAY FOR THE SHIPPING COST TO SEND IT BACK TO THEM TO FIX IT, WHEN THEY COULD JUST SEND ME THE PART. SO, I GOT THEM TO SEND ME THE PART AND IT TURNS OUT TO BE THE WRONG PART, AND THIS WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AT THIS TIME. BUT THEY TELL ME THATS ALL THEY CAN DO. SO, AM I SUPPOSE TAKE THE HIT OF OVER $$$$THOUSAND DOLLAR LOSS BECAUSE OF THEM NOT TESTING THE LOWER UNIT BEFORE SHIPPING IT OUT? IS THAT THE WAY TO TREAT A CUSTOMER WHEN I AM NOT AT FAULT BECAUSE THEY DID NOT CHECK OUT, TEST, OR PRESSURE TEST THEIR USED PART BEFORE SELLING IT? SO NOW I AM STUCK WITH A LOWER UNIT THAT IS DEFECTED, AND MOTOR I CAN NOT USE UNLESS I SPEND ANOTHER THOUSAND OR SO.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY--- SOUTHCENTRAL OUTBOARDS, STAY AWAY FROM -----SCOUTBOARDS-- ON EBAY. COULDN'T DO A REVIEW ON EBAY UNFORTUNATELY TO MUCH TIME HAS PASSED AFTER THE PURCHASE.
