Instead of investing money on parking, how about invest money on more beds in ER , better doctors and efficiency. I u sweat and hospitals are busy right now but how long have we been under covid 19 for over a year. This should be the norm by now, learn to adapt and have better transparency on wait times and where in the line you are to get seen. Put a system in the ER to show where you are in line and how long it would time, average time of course since you can t be 100% sure of time.

I had a wonderful experience at mount sinai hospital in Ocean side. It was my first labor and delivery. Going into this experience I was extremely nervous and anxious but meeting with the doctors and nurses they made me feel extremely comfortable. My process through the labor was easy. The nurses were very helpful and stood by my side and helped me every step of the way. I made it to six centimeters and baby didn t want to come down so they prep me for an emergency csection. I was extremely nervous but all the nurses, doctors and anesthesiologist made me feel comfortable they prep me right away and with in 25 minutes the baby was out and I was rolling back into my room with a healthy baby boy. The staff, nurses, doctors made me feel comfortable being here. I had such a great experience and would highly recommend this hospital.

The emergency room nurses are the worst I have even seen!!! I wish I could give minus stars. Asking for a cup of water they make you wait for half an hour and you had to ask for it like 4-5 times. You ask whatever with the nurse the smallest thing with which they can spend half a minute to help you, they say wait for minute and then totally ignore you. And I am not the kind who like to bother the nurses if I don t really need help with something. I am a patient who came to the emergency room on 9/26 and I will testify in court and swear truth about what I said .

ABSOLUTE WORST HOSPITAL!! DO NOT COME HERE FOR AN EMERGENCY!!! They will make you wait for hours and hours. You will only be seen if you have a stroke and literally crying for pain. Brought a family member in for CHEST PAIN!! We were sent from urgent care. The Patient had heavy chest pain. We presented an ECG from urgent care as well. We sat and waited for over 2 hours. Patient is still in pain. Meanwhile, patients after us were seen. Due to HIPPA I will not disclose their information but it was not as severe. Rapid chest pain is a silent heart attack!! Come on South Nassau. DO BETTER. Staff your department. This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!!! IF I CAN GIVE NO STARS... I WOULD!

I would like to say a big thanks to ER people and to Covid-19 Ward. My son spend 5 days in the hospital, he came to ER with high fever, short of breath and being weak and dehydrated. He was shortly admitted to COVID ward and they took a great care of him. A special thanks to Dr. Anderson and Dr. Marquisi together with nurse Gabi and all nurses and stuff on the ward. Dr. Anderson was always ready to speak with me and explain to me what is the therapy plan, what tests results say and how is my son doing. Because of the DR's and nurses professionalism and good caring skills, my son was discharged in 5 days, and now home and fast recovering. May God bless you all.

Was sent there from the Long Beach emergency facility after experiencing extreme stomach pressure from an intestinal blockage. In Long Beach they did a scan and pumped my stomach & I felt much better, but was told they had to send me to South Nassau for follow up (which I was reluctant about). At South Nassau they did more scans and kept me in the emergency room overnight. First nurse was good, but second nurse at night did nothing- no follow up, no checking on me, no water or nutrients despite the doctor ordering an IV solution.

I was told a doctor would check on me but no one did for over 10 hours. When a doctor did arrive, she told me I had to be prepped for surgery. I was like, "Surgery?? What for?". "Oh, well an intestinal blockage is very serious", she said. "But I feel fine now" I replied. She then left. Still in my bed with no food, water, nurse or IV nutrients the one person who did come by was some young woman with a clipboard going from room to room asking people to sign a waiver that they would not hold the hospital responsible for any excessive-billing (basically saying I agreed to waive my right to sue if they were to rip me off). As I had nothing else to do I actually read what they were asking me to sign and when I realized it was attempting to limit my rights as a patient I simply told her I wasn't going to sign it. She said "ok, no problem" and walked away.

Between the waiting, the no water or nourishment, the unnecessary diagnosis for surgery and the blatant attempt to rip me off I had had enough. I pressed the call button and waited about 15 minutes for the nurse to not respond, at which point I began simply pulling out the nasal gastric tube and I-V needle (connected to nothing) on my own, and got dressed. I walked to the nurses desk and told her I wanted to leave. She said I needed to be discharged by a doctor or sign myself out as leaving against doctors orders. I did the latter. Went home, took some Miralax and made sure to consume only liquids & soft foods for the next few days. I eventually moved my bowels and recovered fully without any surgery. This took place two years ago and thankfully so far, so good- no recurrence & no issues since then.

This was my second experience with South Nassau, the first was when my Mother had a stroke and the ambulance sent her there- she did not recover (as South Nassau is unfortunately not a Comprehensive Stroke Center). As she laid on her deathbed, a hospital rep told us that we should arrange to have her transferred to a hospice facility because they prefer not to have the death occur in their facility as it negatively affects their statistics. My family ended up arranging for hospice where Mom lasted less than 24 hours before passing away.

Given a choice, I will avoid South Nassau whenever possible.

I am sad to say that our family has not experienced the addition of Mount Sinai as an improvement. I have brought my 97-year old mother to South Nassau Hospital more times than I can count, prior to the merger. The nurses, doctors, techs & staff were always courteous, competent, kind and professional. They provided respectful care to my mother. The first time I brought my mother to Mount Sinai South Nassau, after the merger, they returned her to me sitting in a wheelchair on a blanket soaked in urine. I couldn t believe it. The next time I had to take her to the ER, I went to Winthrop. I need to believe that the staff are the same caring individuals but perhaps they are being pressed to work under unreasonable conditions. I brought my mother to the ER today at 2:30pm and have been calling since 5:30 to see if she is being admitted or sent home. Every time I call, they tell me to call back in 90 minutes. I JUST called again and they said to call back at 10:30pm! I am a single parent. I will have to drag my child out of bed to pick my mother up if they don t admit her. In 10 years with South Nassau nothing like this has ever happened. I hope that this merger is intended to help patients in some way and not just the bottom line. Don t throw out the baby with the bath water. I want my old hospital back.

I am a medical doctor and came to ED for my wife. I saw unprofessional approach, disrespectful, and knowledge deficiency here in the ED based on my experience. I will never come back here again !!! I would give 0 star .

South Nassau hospital in Oceanside is an excellent hopital. Last year I became very very ill with Deadly Sepsis and Septic Shock. . The Surgeon saved my life. And the nurses took excellent care of me. Everybody knew exactly what to do. I was there for a little over a week. Had it not been for South Nassau I wouldn't be here. The Er is excellent also. Grade A. Hospital all the way. Thank you God Bless.
