DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY HERE, THEY MEDICALLY KIDNAP YOUR FAMILY AND REFUSE TO RETURN THEM TO YOUR CARE
We faced the difficult decision of placing my father in long term care in a facility due to alzheimers and being non ambulatory. I looked at 3 different facilities before deciding on SKNR. I chose SKNR because of overall cleanliness, friendly staff and a dedicated secure dementia unit. I had my father admitted from home, versus discharged from a hospital. He recently passed away, the staff treated with dignity through the entire process. Nursing home care is expensive, though we're fortunate enough to afford a private room about $1,000 more a month, which was nice as you can decorate it to your liking.
Also they allow 24 hour access to your loved one, I visited with my father as early as 6 a.m. and as late as 9:30 PM, i also kept a bedside vigil for his last 48 hours.
My Memere works there and I have some bad times there....but everyone is nice and if you have family that needs to go in a nursing home or rehab center...come here I have friends there and almost all of the staff know me they are friendly and have a awesome staff the staff loves everybody that walks through the door and is not as confusing when it comes to finding who you were there for
How this place is still open is beyond thought. If you want your loved one treated with dignity, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE! My father was in here for a month and went to the hospital 3 times for dehydration. I went to visit him on Christmas night and he was lying there in nothing but a diaper not wearing the pants we provided for him. When I finally broke him out of this prison, I noticed that the catheter they had put in for no reason at all had no bag connected to it. This place should be shut down!
