The eggplant and goat cheese sandwich is a fat son of a gun. Weeping with velvety roasted eggplant; the gen-er-ous topping of goat cheese is blessed with that oven-brown toasting. Just a few ingredients fighting Goliath, fresh marjoram accent, the filling puts that baguette to WORK. Didn t touch the soup yet.
The soups are delicious and inexpensive! I've come every couple of days since discovering this place. Kevin is very friendly and happy to make recommendations. I highly recommend this place to anyone.
Yummy soups here and very friendly and efficient service! Delicious variety of fresh soups and sandwiches!
Great soup, rotating menu and super nice, friendly owner.
Delicious! They make their soup unsalted so that you can add your own. It's a small business so you are usually talking to one of the owners. I also really appreciate the variety of vegan and vegetarian soups. The soups change, but I've always seen more than one vegan option. I don't always eat vegan, largely because it's difficult, so it is really nice to have that option well-represented.
The soups are really healthy made and fresh but didn't like the low sodium. It is ok place
The soups are on point and affordable. You couldn't ask for better.
First time ever being there and will always return! Amazing food perfect prices!!!
This is definitely not your regular soup place, it's "different" was a bit confusing for my taste! But they serve healthy food here
Delicious! This place is a neighborhood gem! Soups and sandwiches are just so good. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Great local spot, soups and sandwiches change based on the season, so it's worth eating at during any time of the year.
First time eating here while sick now I m addicted to these soups and pork n ham sandwich is awesome!!
The soup is absolutely "on" point at Soup's On! The soups are amazing, hearty, great price, and a huge variety, including vegan (so good)! I am in love with the crab soup & from word of mouth, their french onion soup is awesome! This is my second time visiting in two weeks! The staff is super friendly, the environment super inviting & cozy. I live near DC, but from now on, I must stop pass Soup's On everytime I come to the city of Baltimore! Ask about the pint club...you won't regret it!
Yummy Sammi sammiches and soup! And such a friendly staff!
Pros: Lots of vegan and vegetarian options Fast service Good variety of soups and sandwiches Cons: Lackluster soup Not a whole lot of seating A little pricey Came here for a late lunch on a Wednesday. I had a portobello sandwich and a red pepper soup. The portobello sandwich was fantastic; the bread was well toasted and buttered while the mushroom was large and meaty. The sauce that was on it with matched perfectly with the rest of the sandwich. The soup was not as good, it was too mushy and bland, there was not a lot of flavor going on with it.
I go hear pretty frequently, definitely one of the most delicious and healthy options in the Penn Station vicinity.
Exquisitely prepared soups and sandwiches. Fresh and fast, healthy menu with vegetarian options.
honestly my favorite evening place. looking forward to coming back with my coworkers. the bill won't break you. ambience is similar to fresno's scene.
So good! Had the French Onion w/ Cuban Sand. highly recommend. Super clean.
A great lunch place for tasty soup and sandwich combos. They also have frozen soups to take home. Their website is updated daily if you want to check out what hot soups are have available before coming in.
So many soup choices! I loved the dining area and vintage feel.
I've never had a bad meal here. Always delicious always quality and always great service.
Fresh ingredients - great soup and sandwiches - very reliable
Soups are always on point, prices are great and customer service is EXCELLENT (my only "complaint" would be that they close too early)
Soup's On is the best! The homemade soups change regularly and there's something for everyone including vegan, vegetarian, meat and seafood options. Salt is served on the side so that you can adjust the salt to your liking which is brilliant. The sandwiches and salads are great too and everything is very reasonably priced. The staff is always friendly and personable and the vibe is artsy and laid back. This hidden gem is a must-visit for lunch if you're in the neighborhood.
Definitely a place to go. It s very cozy, with big variety of options, and most important - good healthy soups. Prices are very very good too. First was worried about the portions, but soups are very nutritious so it wasn t a problem. Sandwiches are good as well. Very nice place to hide from the city and enjoy warm meal
This place always has delicious soups and sandwiches! It s definitely a hole-in-the-wall kind of nugget in Baltimore, but I ve never come here and not liked what I got. They even have frozen soups if you d like to purchase them and heat for later :)
Love this place great soups and great customer service definitely recommend
Small inside, soup was ok, waited a while for a cup of soup
Soups ON!!!! SIX STARS.. Favorite place to eat in the whole city...can get a hearty delicious combo of sandwich and soup for $10. In an area where competition is dense, this place stands out.
Great vibes from this place. Amazing soups, even better prices and the staff is extremely friendly. Most definitely worth your money!
Great soups and sandwiches, great prices. $10 for a wonderful combo, vegan and veggie friendly with something for carnivores as well. Sometimes they have dessert soups which are always new and delicious!
The ambience of this restaurant is perfect for enjoying a warm bowl of soup or eating a sandwich. The tables are painted beautifully and are each unique to a different theme. There is upstairs seating in a sort of cozy little corner. I tried both the Maryland Crab soup and the sweet potato and maple syrup soups. Both were great and full of flavor. I wanted to try the sweet potato and maple because I was curious if it would satisfy as a meal time soup, and it definitely did! I thought it would be overly sweet, but it was just the right amount of sweet and savory. My photos aren t the best, but I ll definitely go back and update my photos!
Tried to call-in an order here. Man on phone was extremely rude. Won't be trying again. Phone was answered on first ring, but could hear them speaking in the background for several minutes before he actually answered. Overheard him complaining about another customer. Then when he finally spoke to me, he was rude and in far too much of a hurry to actually listen.
This place is such a breath of fresh air. The guy in charge has always gone above and beyond anything I would expect on multiple occasions. Great soups and sandwiches, great specials. You can tell they love what they do there. He even split up some of the soup ingredients for one soup and told me what to do when I got home. One of the best places in Baltimore for a delicious soup and sandwich. Highly recommend!
Arrived at seven, it wasn't crowded. Prices that won't shock you. Reminds me of a place in New York I loved to visit.
Their sandwiches might be even better than their soups, but both are delicious.
My second time here, still very glad to have found it. This tiny place offers some of the best soups I've tasted!
love love love this place. so convenient to work, staff is super friendly. Quick, efficient, caring. Lovely place. Prices are good, soups are always fresh. house salad is bombbbbb
the soup is off in this kitchen. I can do better with a bowl of Campbell's soup, that would be an improvement in quality.
I love grabbing lunch here. Soups and sammies are always on point
One of the best places to get homemade soup the is freshly made on property.
If you're looking for a Panera Bread style soup and salad place, this may not the place for you. You won't find your basic broccoli cheddar soup here, but what you will find is an absolute gem of a soup place. The owner was phenomenal. So attentive and provided lots of recommendations. The soups and sandwiches were all so unique and fresh. I had a Korean chicken soup and pork strawberry sandwhich, and both were delicious. There were many vegan and vegetarian options available. I loved the whole atmosphere of this place. It doesn't look like much, but I highly recommend this place for lunch!
Amazing customer service and I ve never had something here I didn t like. Don t sleep on this place!
Yummy soups, reasonable prices, supporting small business, and the owners are exceptionally nice :)
First time at this location. And it was Great! Kevin really helped me out on the phone And when I came in the Skype is great and I like that I got to sample them before I boght anything definitely going back! Keep up the good work guys!
Definitely one of Baltimore s hidden gems. Delicious soups and wonderful service. Well done!
First time trying it this week and it was oh so good the service was great and food was delicious
Every time I come in I want to give an even better review. Best lunch!!!!!!!
All of their soups and sandwiches are incredible. You have to try half and half of crram of crab and Maryland crab soup.
Delicious and creative soups and sandwiches! I wish they were open later on evenings I get out of work late.
Check out website for the latest soups. Random but try the tofu Banh mi, it s great!
Savvy menu and great grub at a great price. Also wonderful customer service
Fantastic soups and sandwiches, an ever changing menu, and excellent service
One of my favorite spots in Baltimore. Be wary of the bad reviews which say the soup is undersalted - the low sodium content is intentional, and new customers are informed of this. I've often found myself purchasing a soup expecting to salt it, and happily discovering that the flavors are strong enough to stand on their own.
So, I have been coming here for a couple of years now and I truly live this place. The food that's served here is like you would at home, fresh ingredients and they they are packed in whatever you get. This place is healthy and wholesome and the best part is the quality is the same every time. The food always tastes awesome and there is a variety of flavors so everyone can make a choice that represents what they like. The Maryland Crab Soup is truly one of my favorites and it reminds me of home. You need to decide on a place to eat? This place will not let you down. Small business where the owner serves you, damn this place is awesome!
Good food at a fair price. Costumer service is very friendly.
Came because it was 4.6 stars and was a bit disappointed. The tomato soup (which should be flavor-full and a solid staple at any "gourmet" soup shop needed handfuls of sea salt to not taste so terribly bland. The sandwich was different but pretty decent. Just definitely not an almost 5star food experience.
Been here a number of times. Highly recommend getting a soup and sandwich combo - they are both great and there is such a good variety to pick from. Staff is superb too. This is a business worth supporting!
Soups and sandwiches are reliably delicious even though the menu is always in flux. I have reached the conclusion that the owner has a genuine passion for experimenting with ingredients from dishes around the globe. Yet, american classics, such as gumbo are delivered with authenticity and taste.
The food is great, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is always friendly. But I will not be coming back here. I was just in for lunch, and a man came in not wearing a mask. I get that he lived in the building, and the staff can't control that. But they let him not only walk up to the counter, but also back into the food prep area. The manager's only reply when I voices my concerns was, "Oh I'll let him know." Absolutely unacceptable disregard for safety. I won't eat somewhere that I don't feel safe, and I will be letting everyone I know not to eat here either.
A great lunch spot! We arrived on a rainy day and was greeted with friendly service and delicious food. A great place to support in the Mt Vernon neighborhood.
Always amazing and always vegan and vegetarian options.
This is a local lunch favorite I discovered (by way of referral) several years ago. Over time, the food has been consistently great and the place has always been clean. The soups are are very creative and constantly changing (they're published on the website). They have vegetarian as well as heartier soups with meat. They also server sandwiches which go great with the soup. The owner is usually there and serving customers giving that personal touch. You may want to order in advance during peak lunch hours because the line can be relatively long. Parking is meter paid on the street and relatively easy to find.
Fast, cheap, and great quality. Soup and sandwhich I got arrived within 10 minutes, and were made with fresh, quality ingredients. These, along with a drink, were only about 10 dollars.
Incredible, homemade soups! Every type I've had is amazing! Quick, friendly service! Cute quirky atmosphere!
Great soups! The french onion is sweet. Cheap lunch.
Great high quality food at a great price! Go to lunch if you are around UB
Some of the best soups I've ever had!!Cream of crab, New England clam chowda, French onion soup are three of my faves. The tomato mozzarella sandwich is toasted and soo yummerz!!! Lots of vegan and vegetarian options too. Please check them out!!!
LOVE Soup's On, it's a staple. The Pork Banh Mi and Roasted Pork Sandwich with strawberries and goat cheese are my favorites. The soups are obviously really good as well, they're always under-salted but they give you salt in the bag so you can salt it to your taste.
Best lunch join in Baltimore. Fresh, high quality ingredients and super cheap. Everything tastes amazing. :p
Curry coconut chicken lemon grass and pasta soup, sad to say, Lil chicken to be found, portions is small in itself for a $5 bowl. Quick and convenient, would try again. My kind of people in the kitchen, let their light shine.
Very friendly service, low price (soup&sandwich for $10 even), and the smell and taste is absolutely incredible!
Friendly owner, great quality homemade soups. Would visit everyday if I could.
As obsessed as I am with soup and the soup from this bistro specifically, this was my first birthday visit! I love this restaurant, the identical twin brothers who co-own it are 2 of my best friends whether they've pieced it together or not, and it's quite literally the friendliest place in Mount Vernon! If you don't believe that last line, you can ask my fave bartender from Iron Rooster Canton, Antonio, and he will back it up since he tends bar at the friendliest restaurant on the Canton Waterfront side of the Harbor! Amen!
