If I could I would give this specialty establishment 10 stars. This place sets the standard for Hatch green chili New Mexico cuisine. I am qualified to make this statement because I lived in New Mexico. The service was superb. The tortilla chips are second to none and the salsa is obviously prepared by the chef. The is truly an eating experience that will thrill your taste buds.
We moved to the area a few months ago and stumbled onto this place. What a lucky find. Sopapillas is absolutely awesome! We've brought several friends and recommended it to many more. I highly suggest you give this place a try. We love everything about it!
We hadn't been to Sopapilla's for a while, but we'll be visiting more frequently in the future. We had the Ahi salad and the Tres enchiladas, subbing pork for the cheese. Everything was excellent, fresh and full of flavor. Our server was attentive and informative. Great dining experience!
Great Mexican restaurant. Upscale, great for a date night.
As always food is great. However service not so great. We were a party of 2 around 230pm on a weekday so not too busy. Ordered water and drinks right away. Waited and waited. Finally got water but food arrived before drinks with no apology. Our server never checked back with us. Our table was never cleared even after we ordered dessert. Hopefully our next visit will be better.
1. We had a 7:30 reservation for 2 that we checked in on time for and we weren't seated until 8:15. What's the point of a reservation? If we just walked in without a reservation and was told it was a 45 minute wait, we would have declined. So, waiting that long with a reservation was not acceptable.
2. When we checked in, the hostess said, "we are a 'little behind', please feel free to grab drinks at the bar while you wait." I stood at the bar for about 3 minutes and the bartender actually came to me and said that she is too busy to take my order and that i wouldn't be able to order drinks at the bar. Not acceptable.
3. After I walked away and continued to wait for my table, I saw other people after me get bar service. Not acceptable.
4. When we were finally seated, we were actually seated inside of an entirely different restaurant (the two restaurants are connected). I imagine the two restaurants are owned by the same people. Somewhat Acceptable, but definitely strange.
5. The food was pretty good but not amazing and certainly not good enough to cleanse the pallet from the awful experience. we felt that the prices were reasonable as well.
All in all, would not recommend and would not go back.
I met some friends for lunch and had a great time. We sat outside and I thought it may be noisy due to the restaurants proximity to the road, but I never heard the traffic. It had a great atmosphere, the service was great, and food was great especially the enchiladas. I m looking forward to coming back
Normally I don't review restaurants I visit as a service technician on the job. However, this place was by far the cleanest restaraunt I've seen in the area. Both in the lobby and the kitchen were emaculate. The manager was also very proactively roaming the floor engaging customers and ensuring quality. Food looked good, but wasn't able to order anything. 10/10 I'd go back as a customer!
The best I have since I moved here. Taste fresh not like the cheap meat and fillers! Service was really good! Surprising how reasonable they were for the quality
Hubby and I went for the first time. Liked the more neutral decor. Everything we put in our mouth, from the complimentary chips and salsa, the tamales to the crab and shrimp quesadillas was amazing! Our waitress was great! I was surprised at the good service considering every business is short staffed right now. Highly recommend
