Save yourself the time and take a look around the Sony foyer instead. I couldn't work out if the highlight of the tour was catching a glimpse of the wheel of fortune set(which was all covered up) or when we were taken on an overly detailed tour of the Goldbergs set(15+ minutes on the set of a sitcom?) - very disappointing.

The rest of the tour was just the guide pointing at a building and saying so-and-so worked in there etc. Only really interesting part was the foley sound studio.

Until they put some effort into this then I highly recommend the Warner Bros tour as an alternative.

The best studio tour in Hollywood. It's the complete opposite of the Universal Studios experience. You get the possibility to get through working stages, see and touch how a set is made. It is not uncommon to see stars. During my visit we hangout with Sean Giambrone from the Goldbergs. It is a 2 hours walking tour. There's also a beautiful shop with unique merchandising of Sony movies and TV-series.

Can't recommend this tour enough. An intimate and real inside look at a working Hollywood tour.

It's a walking tour among the studios in Sony's lot. No vehicle just driving you around a few spots and then dropping you off at a carefully curated exhibit.
You get an actual feel of what it's like to be in the studio, and see working places and a real behind the scenes look at some magical places.

Note: It's more a professional and real look, and doesn't offer much in the way of entertaining visitors like Universal or Warner.

I love the studio tour! I took the tour 2.5 years ago and have been begging friends and family to come and visit and take the tour ever since.
This is a fun tour that walks the lot and talks about long ago past history as well as all of the current shows that are filming on the lot.
When we were taking our tour we ran into Master's of Sex filming their first season and got to talk with Michael Sheen.
Whenever I see a tour going on (there are multiple per day) I always try to over hear what the guide is saying as I'll typically pick up on a new tidbit of history.

If you're in the L.A. area and enjoy TV and Film make sure to put this one on your list to check out.

This is the real deal I've worked in Hollywood for over 30 years and actually got my start at Sony Pictures here it was actually called metro-goldwyn-mayer back then so when you go on the tour be sure to ask them about some of the old history like the wizard Wizard of Oz and the yellow brick road

The tour was OK, what we saw the most of was the outside of studio buildings. At least we did get to walk on the Goldbergs set. And a free souvenir picture. Not sure if it s worth 50 bucks, another studio tour we took last year was much better.

It's neat to learn the history and see some working sets. We went inside the jeapardy set where you can stand behind a mock contestant stand. They had some cool vehicles, the new and old Ghostbusters cars, a truck car from Talladega nights, the braking bad RV and a couple others. The building where the tour office is has a number of movie displays that we didn't cover on the tour so be sure and look around before leaving. Vaket parking is free and convenient in the underground lot, with the entrance right in front of the building where the tour office is. There is a good short movie at the beginning. We also got to go in a Foley set. The prices in the gift shop were too high so we didn't buy anything there. It's a working set, so a lot of the tour you're walking outside the buildings while the guide talks without a lot to look at.

Absolutely loved this tour! Keith Coogan was an amazing guide who really connected with everyone in the tour. The background and information he provided on the history of the lot was fabulous. I would do this tour again, it was great! Thanks to our both of our guides!

First of all, I can't emphasise enough what an amazing tour guide Angela was!

Really enjoyed my time here and would highly recommend. It was interesting to learn about the history of the studio, see the Goldbergs set, and learn about how much detail goes into post production.

Compared to other studio tours, this is 100% on foot and has less of a 'wow' factor but it's less scripted (so feels more like a unique experience). I'd do it again definitely.

This is a really interesting look into how a movie studio operates. We got to walk through the "Goldbergs" sets and see many cool things. Ran into Jeffrey Ross walking around the studio, and while I missed him Adam Sandler was on the premises the same day.

We bought an LA Go card and the Sony pictures studio tour comes as part of the card. We called more than 8 times to book our tour and every time were told that they weren't open, that we had to call a specific number (which was the number we had been calling), or that because some other department didn't pick up it got transferred to someone else and they couldn't help us. If you don't want to be part of a program like the LA Go Card, just don't be. Don't give customers a run around so they can't book the services.

This studio tour is a must-do for locals and tourists alike. It was a slow day on the lot, so we got to tour the sets of three major TV shows. Our guide was a working actor with decades of experience, offering insightful jewels throughout the tour. The Studio Museum is particularly interesting, with various pop culture artifacts like the set from Seinfeld, props from Breaking Bad (including vehicles), and a painting gallery with props featuring the likes of Will Ferrell, Chevy Chase and Bill Murray from various films.

The guides made the tour worthwhile and provided the backstory on the history of the area, shows, and actors. We were able to visit the studio where Wheel of Fortune is shown as well as the setting for "The Goldbergs". The souvenir shop was alright. I think it would have been fun to talk with people who work there to get more direct information but if you want to listen to stories and see some sites this is a good idea.

While we were in California for vacation, we toured Sony, Warner Bros. and Universal Studios. All three were different experiences, but I thoroughly enjoyed our Sony tour. As opposed to the other two, Sony is a complete walking tour, which I liked because you could stop and look in the individual studios rather than riding by on a tram. Our guide, Keith "Coogan" Mitchell was excellent. I wished I'd realized who he was before we left because I liked his movies back in the '80s (Adventures in Babysitting, Toy Soldiers, Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead). Obviously he knew a lot about the industry and was very informative. My favorite part of the tour was visiting the set of The Goldberg's. We love that show and it was so cool to actually walk through their "home" where it's filmed. We had the LA Go Card to visit a variety of places around L.A. and we had no issues using it for this tour. We even called ahead and scheduled our visit, which I suggest doing. Great studio tour and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Fun tour of the working lot of a studio with a ton of history and Hollywood influence. The site is manicured from top to bottom and is clean and lovely. With many shows currently in production you may get to see your favorite game show host of leading lady depending on when you go. Must visit.

We had a Blast here! Also met a few stars (John Amos & Sean Giambrone - the kid from The Goldberg's) while on tour so that was an extra treat. Our tour guide Dave was extremely knowledgeable and seemed to know everyone! We had the chance to walk around quite a few sound stages, saw the Foley room where they make the sound effects for the movies and my husband and I (being the movie buffs that we are) were in movie heaven. We happened to get there as they were shooting an outside scene of The Goldberg's so got to meet Sean aka Adam Goldberg who is truly the nicest person you can meet truly. He was just as excited as we were which was great to see from an actor. Was great to see the history behind some of the iconic movies we've watched and love. Also got a personal free wheel of fortune photo to take as a souvenir! Loved it!

Sony pictures studio was amazing, we visited all the studios and Sony Pictures actually let us inside of the stages, specifically to "goldbergs" stages! Also we went to sound stage, stage 1! The tour is simple, meaning they don't provide you those carts like other studios but it was even better tbh! It's just different experience, universal f.e is on different level with huge and mind blowing special effects! All the studios were great!
Thanks to our guide at Sony pictures Dave :)

Excellent tour. Interesting, informative and fun. Our guide was exceptional. "No photos please!" ... we also saw Norman Lear zip by in a golf cart ... still working and in his 90's. Recommend: Add to a must do list.

After doing the Warner tour the day before I had high expectations of the Sony tour and wow was I disappointed. Our tour guide had no knowledge and everything she was saying felt like she was reading from a a script. We went in one set which was the wheel of fortune but it wasn t currently filming so the stage wasn t set and everything was covered. We just walked Building to brown building. Waste of time and money, go to Warner absolutely amazing!

Sony pictures studio tour is a two-hour walking tour where you get to go into a soundstage, we saw the Goldbergs stage, a game show stage we went to the Jeopardy stage and the Barbra Streisand scoring stage. It's a lot of walking but it's a cool tour. I did not know that the Sony studio used to be MGM where they filmed movies like The Wizard of Oz.

First of all, our tour guide was great and you could tell that he lives for the cause. Another great thing is that parking costs nothing. However, it was already with the positive experiences. The tour of the site is only for people who are happy to be told that this film was made in this building 30 years ago. Of course it is interesting to learn something about the technology and to see a room where something is said, but you can also go to Babelsberg. In addition, there is a visit to the wheel of fortune with a video message from the moderators and the set of a series that Germany (still) does not know. Maybe nice for Americans, but not for us Europeans. There are no replicas of old sets, except in the first room (5-10 minutes) where utensils from films and series are exhibited. All in all quite disappointing.

I took the tour not knowing what to expect but knowing some of the history of the lot and what is currently filmed there I had a small list of wants. I wanted to see a Goldberg s set, some Ghostbusters stuff and I wanted to the Wizard of Oz stage (Particularly the trap door that the Witch used).

I got to the lot 2 minutes late (LA traffic ) and was quickly valeted and our tour guide came back to get me and catch me up on the tour. I instantly recognized him. My tour guide was Keith Coogan. As someone who loves eighties movies I was excited. He s fourth generation Hollywood and he knows his history. He is extremely engaging and personable and made the tour extremely fun.

Got to see the Goldberg house set.
Got to see the Oz stage but it s occupied so no trap door yet.
Got to see Ghostbusters props, car, and Ivan Reitman!!!

Got to see a lot more but I don t want to ruin the entire tour for you.

It was funny when Keith he confirmed his identity to the the group stating, yeah I m Brad from Advertures in Babysitting! One lady screamed like she won the lottery.

GREAT TOUR!!!!

I want to return to see if I can catch a glimpse of that trap door.

Cool place to wander around. If you're a movie and TV buff, this is the place to be. I was super excited to see the replica set of Seinfeld in the museum. The studio grounds are well kept and pretty exciting to see a real working movie area.
