Founder is rude, abusive, and unprofessional

Ali Ghanbarian (founder of SOMA Magazine) is unprofessional, rude and abusive.

He contacted our firm for services then called us "stupid hustlers" when we replied.

Throughout our short-lived correspondence, Ali sent curt one-sentence emails & demonstrated extremely poor reading comprehension.

Ali lacks any sense of professionalism and clearly exhibits no respect for the people he works with — his conduct is unacceptable and should not be tolerated by any business or individual.

This is not a one-time incident: there are multiple other reviews on Google & other platforms citing similar conduct.

I started as an intern here in college and have worked here for nearly 8 years since. Soma to me has always been known as a safe space for creatives and especially for women of all backgrounds. The editor and chief is an artistic enigma who has a unique vision that is heart of the magazine. He is always very professional, and a great mentor who protects and upholds the professional integrity of the workplace to a high standard.

Was amazed when I initially reached out to the publisher and received a response because I'd idolized and aspired to be in the magazine since I was 12 years old. The publisher gave me incredible opportunities to interview, write and edit in the Influencers section, which enabled me to cover some of the most impactful, thoughtful, gift and hardworking women I know in tech, art and fashion including reporter Aarti Shahani and designer Maya Reik. I appreciated that I was given ample space to be creative in my writing and each piece was supported with incredible imagery from top tier photographers. I appreciate the publisher for letting me skyrocket opportunities in my career as an editor and journalist.

SOMA Magazine and it's founder Ali Ghanbarian have a great eye for talent--and this gem of a magazine oozes strong editorial content.
SOMA magazine has the freshest avant garde content and that is due in great part to how Ali is in tune with culture and high fashion.

I have been honored to be part of SOMA s team for over two years. Throughout my time here, I have started as an intern and worked my way up to the position of an Assistant Editor under the supervision of the editor-in-chief. He has been so encouraging, inspiring, and always attentive to my work, helping me produce the best articles I could produce and put my best work into it.

Tha magazine always features modern successful women in tech, art, design, etc. It features exemplary women with significant achievements who can be role models for the young readership of the magazine in the secrion called Influencers. I personally was happy to work on an Influencer article featuring young women entrepreneurs Gemma Lloyd & Valeria Ignatieva.

This magazine is legendary in scope of its great, visionary content and incredible photography. Publisher Ali Ghanbarian is an utter gem in the heart of San Francisco and beyond, promoting lesser-known talent as well as a strong voice for women and respectable female role models. Perfection!
