Really disappointing. If you are used to the high standards of other Sofitel hotels, be aware this absolutely does not meet those standards... it is very far from a 5 star hotel. Peeling paint, broken door latches etc. Will definitely not recommend and will most certainly not be back.
Only reviewing the light bar in the RDC. The female bartender with blond hair, light-skinned, was very professional and amicable. The overall vibe is relaxed and pleasant. Just seeing the reception setup and the restrooms made me want to book a room!
The amazing staff make this hotel a wonderful experience.
I have stayed here 3 or 4 times for work. It has a traditional, upscale, big hotel feel. Lyon is full of adorable boutique hotels but I still love this place for 3 reasons. 1. Location. 2. Hermes Bath products in the room 3. The best hotel breakfast views and spread, ever. The breakfast here is a treat! Downstairs restaurant is fine. Not amazing not bad.
Sofitel is a nice hotel and well known worldwide. However I have to say that the rooms are a bit old and outdated. But in terms of service and cleanliness everything is up to standard. The best part is the view from the breakfast restaurant. That is perhaps the selling point of hotel. At night its home to a Michelin star restaurant.
room is a bit old but still nice to stay. great breakfast
hotel rooms are very old. Breakfast restaurant has nice view but poor choices. Front office team are friendly and hospitable.
Terrible. It s a 3 star hotel masquerading as a 5 star. The gym is lovely, small but the gear is new. The spa is good. The upstairs bar has a great view and breakfast is good....but don t stay here - the rooms need a lot of work to update the and there is barely enough room to swing a street cat...a self respecting domestic cat would find it a tad dirty and treat it with the disdain this hotel deserves.
Old facility with old furniture and design. Beautiful views, if river-facing, and nice panoramic view restaurant. Staff are nice, but seemed inexperienced to me; a few mistakes, the worst of which was with the invoice amount so I ended up paying at check-out more than 10% over what I was told upon check-in. Though a nice place, staff and food, I won't stay here again because of the frustrating repetitive mistakes.. a solely personal choice, though.
