Sofitel Hamburg Alter Wall Reviews

Due to Covid we had to reschedule our stay. The hotel staff was not helpful at all. First they did not response our enquiry and when they responded they denied our prolongation request. They were open to reschedule our stay only after it turned out that the hotel will be closed due to Covid. We had to write several emails and beg for helping us. The staff was very unhelpful, recklesss to our problem and lazy (after 5pm the reservation department is closed). A few months after we managed to reschedule our stay, they notified us that they cancel our reservation and will refund the fully paid fee. This approach to clients is fully ununderstandable. We will never make reservations at Sofitel or at any Accor Hotels.

Nice staff, nice location, just in the center of everything. The breakfast is not big but the food was delicately prepared.

This hotel is sadly reportedly closing on 30th June 2021 and will be demolished as reported by various travel websites

scary design, they put a very scary photo behind the bed, I ask remove or change room but they told me they cant do anything. said: it's our design. Unbelievable ! who the hell design this! will never stay in this chain again!

Excellent hotel with great location. Perfect service and very good food. Vry wide selection for the breakfast. A bit expensive but this can be justified by its quality.

Great hotel. Great rooms! The beds are always so comfortable at Sofitel. Nothing wrong with this hotel & spa, but one point they're not doing well is the reception. The waiting times are just too long. So make sure you're ahead of your schedule and calculate the time lost when waiting to be served. It seems they need to shortened the check-in/out procedures and have more people at the reception. Other than this one constructive criticism, enjoy your stay!

This was a nice hotel. Location is just perfect! Right in the center of Hamburg, close to the main shopping street, lots of places around in walking distance. You can get there easily by car, public transport and of course taxi. From here you'll be able to do almost anything by foot in the center. Especially if you don't shy away from walking a bit. Would stay again!
