HANTH Square 2007: It was the beginning of my events. The only good memories I have are of the night in the fall, when my first solo exhibition was in public. It was the only time for a 15-year-old to talk and to know a new world. From people who liked art.

Historic building, with all the amenities for training.
This is the third year that my friends and I train at eskrima and we are very happy with both the facilities and the behavior of the reception staff.

On the pros: Very helpful and polite reception. Immediate response to e-mails and good sense of finding solutions. The small portions. Large, column-free, airy and sunny rooms with wooden parquet. The ability to combine swimming with other types of exercise. The rather large variety of fitness equipment. On the negative: They do not answer the phones. The high cost of registration. It was at 12E and this year it went up at 15E. The nonsense is that the registration fee is paid EVERY TIME and only applies for 10 months. This is not even a year because in summer the classes are completely closed and on Sundays there are no lessons at all. And at the combo gym I attended, apart from the above, Friday and Saturday only has 2 lessons. So we are not talking about registration, we are talking about the annual subsidy of the CSE by its members. Another nonsense is that if you delay your renewal for 10 days, your next renewal will be retroactive from the expiration date of the previous renewal !! ONLY if more than 10 days have elapsed between the renewals, the card will be valid from the renewal date, and not for men. They're forcing you to a monthly subscription. In the combo gym program 2 lessons per week cost 30 euros and 3 lessons 40 euros. Unbelievable, if you think that at other gyms for the same price you do unlimited exercise every day from 11am to 11pm and give you a whole bunch of gifts like solarium, sauna, towel, bathing cap, etc. If you also think that in the specific program of the combo gym there is a limit not only to the times you attend but also to the type of courses you choose to attend (eg studio pilates). Also, in the pool - at least at the aqua aerobic lesson I attended - there was water junk, the equipment was too old and worn out, the water was cold and not according to specifications, the lesson was done with a transistor so a sound could be heard. annoying help in the space as it is also high ceilings, and during the course some treadmills are used by the public for free swimming or other training and there was a great deal of fun. In the women's dressing rooms the toilets and their surrounding area are dirty. The water is wet when you pull the toilet. Disgusting. There is no basis for the health shutters so they are constantly dampened by frequent falls on the floor. The showers are all in one common and relatively small circular space where there is no privacy at all, etc. They are also completely disorganized in terms of shelves, hangers, hair dryers etc. The showers are not enough for everyone and the space generally needs refurbishment. Even the floor is non-slip (no longer). Finally, the changing room area is not heated. In some courses there was a time inconsistency on the part of the instructor so the duration of the lesson was significantly reduced. Also, licenses often merged parts so that the lesson could not be done properly because of the large number of participants. At one point, my instructor indirectly suggested that I should stop with CATH and start private lessons with him. In another lesson I was injured because despite my remarks and the instructor's supposed specialization he made me do exercises that were inappropriate for me. In general, the behavior of the gymnasts (with a few exceptions that I have informed the CATH) is arrogant because of the supposed specialization that in reality does not exist. In conclusion no value for money and for the Christian community no reason. Everything shows that the CAC is suffering administratively. See "surprise lesson" at the combo gym that was so surprising they didn't even know it except at the last minute, the last time you missed the lesson. Partially accessible for the disabled. There is no elevator.

My best childhood memories and the friends I made ...

My best childhood memories and the friends I made there and at their magical summer camp facilities in Agios Nikolaos of Chalkidiki come from the YMCA in Greece ( . . . .). Those years I spent my summers there as a kid and as a teenager not only did they make me a better athlete (picked up tennis and table tennis for life there while I got introduced to volleyball, handball and basketball, learned how to swim well, also diving, sailing, surfing and hiking) but also socialized me giving me people skills, by exploring friendship and bonding with peers. I give my YMCA teen years credit for having built my character and definitely having morphed part of the man I am today. Or should I rather say part of the perpetual kid in me which never grew up...

XANTH is an important part of the history of Thessaloniki. The building is located in the most central passage of the center, but clearly shows its years. The people of XANTH should try to renovate its premises through European funding. A comprehensive study could help upgrade the overall contribution of XANTH to the city's sporting and cultural events.

The closest basketball / volleyball court in the traditional city center. This makes it ideal for other events, such as concerts such as the established Christmas Concert of the Thessaloniki State Orchestra for the purposes and work of the AAC. .

I have left my details in the secretariat 3 times to get me back for a phone update on a program. No serious treatment, they were supposed to call me immediately (specifically all 3 times they told me: "we will call you in the next quarter") and a week has passed.
In addition, in the Christian Enterprise of Youth of Thessaloniki, they increased prices in relation to the previous year in several programs.

I like the place but it has water it is not cleaned well !! Do something about it. Also, the "old" swimmers do as if they are in their own space! There are people who come for recovery, with serious problems! They are not obliged to tolerate your deafening noise, either the way you swim or because you are chatting with people outside the water yelling !!
