Ashley O'Dell has been Providence Gardens Condominiums' SMG manager since the first half of 2018 and I've had the privilege of working with her since last June. Ashley has worked hard for us as we've decided to address a backlog of projects for our complex. Together, we've successfully completed several major projects on the complex, with more planned for the future. I appreciate her experience and guidance on several topics, as well as her timely responses to our inquiries and issues. It's been a positive experience working with her. Thank you Ashley!

I have been reporting a dead shrub at the entrance to my townhouse for over a year and a half. There has been no response nor has the shrub been replaces. My HOA dues are paid on time every month but they fail to deliver services.. Update 07/20 ... the shrub has been replaced. Thank you for finally getting this resolved.

If you like Smith Management now you will most likely change your opinion when you put your unit up for sale. They are asking that my father's trust put $6,000 in escrow for Smith Management to use for fix ups even though the unit is sold and we have made repairs from various inspections completed by the new owner and St Louis County. My father lived there for 30 years and this is the treatment his family gets. They also want $200 for pool passes. My mother would not get near a pool and my dad had been ill and not swimming before he passed away. He could have already turned in his pool pass for all I know and I doubt seriously my mother ever had one. I'm just warning you to be ready for Smith Mgmt to want big money when you sell your unit (at closing) if they don't like improvements you have made.

I am not normally a fan of Community Archives and Smith Management, as it can be incredibly difficult to find good help, the charges are extreme and every requested document takes a million years to get back (unless you'd like an up-charge... and even that doesn't work all that often). That being said, every time I've had an issue, Jennifer Andrews always comes to my aid. She's always incredibly helpful, efficient and friendly. Y'all... take care of that girl. Jennifer is a star!

I contacted Smith Management Group on 10/13/2015 to report a parking violation. I spoke w/Julie and she realized who I was (from a previous alleged incident reported by a neighbor) and she instantly became argumentative, very rude and unprofessional. Julie then abruptly terminated the call as I was speaking. I immediately called back and requested to speak w/the person over Julie. I was advised to speak w/Mindy and was transferred to her voicemail. After leaving a detailed message Mindy never returned my call. Shelia return my call who was semi-polite but wasn't willing to look into the possible violation to my satisfaction. I was ultimately told it would be up to us (my husband and I) to find out if they received permission from the other neighbor to park in their spot which is a bunch of non sense. I asked what would be the course of action with Julie for being so disrespectful by terminating our call w/o cause. Shelia stated she will be addressed for what she did and that's all the reassurance I received. They didn't hesitate to send us a letter based on the false accusation of our neighbor who is also leasing his condo but refused to look into our issue of a parking violation. I have strong beliefs that is due to the neighbor providing our race of being Black. This company treats tenants like crap. If your not the owner they will not display any respect or courtesy. They seem to be a staff full of unhappy, miserable people with no professional training. I hope my review is very helpful to home buyers who are considering to purchase or lease property managed by SMG (Montecito Terrace, St. Peters, MO...next to Gold's Gym).

We just had our gutters cleaned by Smith Management and they did a very good job, the best of our gutter cleanings that we have had. They used a large hose and thoroughly cleaned all the debris and especially shingle grit that our gutters have accumulated. In addition, they cleaned all the debris that fell onto our sidewalks and driveways. The 3 man crew was very courteous and was careful working around our patios, garden areas, etc. Great job, we appreciate the quality of work.

Working with multiple HOA companies, and having 3rd parties to be our contact gets difficult, however Jennifer Andrews at Smith Management has been nothing but AMAZING and reliable to work with and goes above and beyond in times of need. This company likes to charge a lot of fees for everything. Not only do they charge a lot of fees, those fees are astronomically higher than they should be. One that I had come across also had an "expedite fee" (there was no reason for it to be expedited), an "office fee" and an "administration fee". Wouldn't those two be the same thing? Which, that "administration fee" was $125.

I also noticed that I had gotten charged a fee, that didn't belong on my account, on the 10th of the month. And then charged a late fee on the 11th. All of which, I admit, did get reversed once I argued the case. But, this is simple accounting that got screwed up! I have to wonder how many others get these same fees and don't know where to even look to see that they got charged.

Mix the extremely high fees, bad accounting and a severe lack of following up and communicating and they make for a pretty awful company to work with.

Robin Juergens is the most efficient HOA manager we have ever had at Smith-Management. In the past 15 years, Carrollton Manor has had at least 6 managers. Robin is kind, considerate and does exactly what she promises. She know how and what to say to residents when called upon. I personally enjoy her sense of humor and the idea that one must laugh a great deal when dealing with multitudes of people. She is the best and makes my job very simple.
