Brought my father in for shortness of breathe, swelling of the face and muscle weakness via wheelchair and they sat us in the waiting room. We were waiting for about 40 minutes. With those wait times you can go to any hospital. There is definitely nothing setting them above or beyond the hospitals in the city. I'm outraged by the lack of concern when there were only 4 people in the waiting room to start.
If i could rate negative i would. Slowest possible care. Zero communication with patients. Check in and then wait for 4 hours to see the doctor. Definitely not an emergency room. Pathetic hospital.
Thank you Slidell Memorial for all your wonderful care. Not only have you cared about my hubby, but you have gone through great lengths to ensure he is going to be ok after the car accident last night, .....a special thanks to Ms Mary at your amazing gift shop. Not only did she take him what he needed most (cell charger) , but she refused to keep the change like I insisted on.....your one of Gods good people Ms Mary, and I just wanted to say Thank you ....
From the bottom of my heart ...I'll be coming from Texas this evening to great Slidell.....and you can bet I'm coming to buy flowers from Ms Mary....thank u again .....
If they didn t get so busy and had wait times that go into the hours, I would give it 5 s!! I understand they are busy, and I m not complaining, but that s literally my only complaint!! Competent & friendly staff and comfortable amenities. It s the best your going to get in a hospital in Slidell, be real, they ain t supposed to be fun places, so this is as good as it gets.
From the moment I walked in the hospital I was treated with such care, kindness and gentleness. It started in the registration booth. The lady that checked me in was so kind and thorough. As she told me to where to go, I proceeded on to have some test done in the nuclear testing. The young lady who performed my test was beyond proficient, professional, gentle and kind. She made my test as comfortable as it could be.
Everyone had masks on .....social distancing in all the areas that I was seated in. The hospital was clean.
Slidell Memorial ......you guys are on the right track, may God bless each and everyone that I saw this morning.
I know that it was a combination of Dr. Jacqueline Chan and the staff and the therapy itself that prevented the serious condition that I would have developed if I had not had been prescribed the 30 dives. I am so grateful for their kindness. Highly recommended!!
Don t come for an emergency lol they take forever. Please take your family members somewhere they will actually care about them & in a timely manner. Anywhere else is a better option for your loved ones.
Dominique Lewis in the front area check in is very rude. He would smile in certain people faces and let them go through without any problems. I understand that there are rules however implement them for everyone.
Please get someone else in the front who has a better understanding of people and a better attitude. If anything train him please he doesn't know how to do his job.
Thank you
Slidell Memorial Hospital demonstratively has incredibly LOW STANDARDS of cleanliness and sanitation. The obvious neglect and lack of standard housekeeping, along with the absence of routine maintenance, such as painting, replacing broken light fixtures, etc., has apparently created unsafe conditions for patients.
This hospital s administration is obviously neglectful of the physical facilities, possibly to the point of libelous. Patient s and visitor s health and safety appear compromised due to dirty/unsanitary facilities, with peeling paint (above patient bed), rusted/corroded fixtures, broken florescent light fixtures (bulbs exposed), human hair hanging on fire suppression sprinkler head (above patient bed), discolored/corroded mirror, and broken floor tiles.
As if that were not enough to make you sick, three, yes three different hospital staff doctors came into the room at different times, and all recounted a completely different diagnosis. On one occasion, their staff tried to administer an ultrasound on the wrong patient, and had to be set straight by the patient. Then there was the doctor telling the patient he was concerned about the medications the patient was taking, even though the patient had explicitly told the ER Nurse that they DID NOT take that specific medication. The cherry on top was a pair of USED rubber gloves left on the end table, next to the patient bed, left there all day.
Anyone entering the hospital, mostly those visiting patients in rooms, are greeted by gauntlet of smokers, lined up on both sides of the walkway, directly in front of the entrance (within several feet of the doors).
Although there are clearly marked signs, saying SMOKING ON SMH PROPERTY IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED , and security was present in the parking lot, nothing was done about the smoking. The security guard merely sat in their Security vehicle, with the AC on, in clear sight of the smokers, and did nothing. Just look at the pictures of cigarette butts next to the no smoking sign, and you will understand the contradiction. Of course, the cigarette butts only added to the amount of other trash, liter, and debris surrounding dirty glass door entrance.
But don t take my word for it, look at the photos, they speak volumes. The question I have for this hospital s administration, and board of directors, is simply this, how in hell do you pass the JCACH accreditation inspections, or did you?
