Awesome tour. What a great to see this incredible piece of science history that is still making important discoveries.
Very interesting!! Unfortunately not a place the public can freely visit. Just comforting that such great research is taking place here in the Bay Area.
They gave a nice tour of the facility. Informative and interesting
Wonderful place to work; very exciting science happening here!
If you need to shine an X-ray laser on something, say you want to examine the structure of a particular protein, or knock some electrons out of an atomic shell, well this is the place to go.
Very nice and the employees are great and demonstrated great customer service
We had an awesome experience on a public tour on Friday afternoon. We got to see inside the experimental halls and accelerator building (though not the accelerator itself, which apparently is crazy radioactive while it's running, so... fair enough). The grad students that led the tour were very knowledgeable and great at explaining their work in a way that was still accessible.
Great electron beam at End Station A, when operational! Looking forward to the new cafeteria.
Epic place to work. Wonderful place with wonderful people.
This is the best linear accelerator laboratory in the world! But sometimes, the electrons there are accelerated in a circle as well!
Cool place!
FYI they won't a complete stranger in
One of the best accelerator labs around. Polite staff and security all round. Have a good reason to be here though.
World class facility and staff. SLAC really knows how to science.
Great place the guards are nice a lot of the workers are nice
The SLAC tour is excellent! It gives a good view of the accelerator beam line, and a look inside one of the X-ray physics labs fed by LCLS. The guides were two Stanford physics grad students and they did an outstanding job. I'd love to see tours offered of other parts of SLAC, it's a fascinating place.
The attosecond light source they're building at PULSE is really cool. It is some of the coolest and most impactful science being done in any national lab!
It was very impressive building. I make a tour and I just surprised
I look forward to continued business collaborations, great working with you, Donna!
I attach photo taken on 14/6/20
17 from my window what is that light?
Outstanding place for research and collaboration. Great scientists.
Epic place with cool facilities and cool guides (the workers there)
How in the world shipping & receiving department close at 3:30 PM,
I'm a truck driver, I drove from Birmingham Alabama to SLAC Menlo Park California, 2300 Miles loaded with a 44000 Lbs, I made it at 4 PM on Friday 03/29/2019,
The security were very polite and helpful, but, they have nothing to do simply because the shipping and receiving department is closed at 3:30 PM yes 3:30 PM,
I've been told come back on Monday 04/01/2019 at 7 AM, by the way the closest Pilot truck station is 89 Miles away.
Mostly dirt roads between buildings difficult for wheelchair....actual accelerator kinda cool
Was here for the opening of the BABAR particle accelerator, very impressive!
Great place for X-ray crystallography and spectroscopy. There are so many experts here and the support staff is amazing. If you are lucky to get a room in the Stanford Guest House, your time is much more well spent and convenient. I also really liked their on-site gym.
On site for customer visits and it just happens to be barbecue day at SLAC. Love mitzi, good food, and good people.
A very nice place to learn about particle physics and engineering. Great facility.
An older synchrotron but still world-leading science being conducted.
