This has been a favorite of my husband and I for breakfast since we've lived in Bellingham. We were shocked when it came under new ownership and we were apprehensive about whether it would keep the same vibe.
We have been overwhelmingly surprised with how good and delicious the menu is. The owner really stepped it up a notch and has made this a go to spot for both excellent food and beautiful atmosphere! We love the french quarter vibe of the back patio.
The new menu is impressive in quality, with the Eggs Benedict being a stand out. So few places take the time to get their hollandaise sauce right but Skylark's hits it out of the park.
One of my favorites is their breakfast potatoes. So many places get breakfast potatoes totally disgustingly wrong. (Lumps of boiled and reheated rocks that sit in your stomach.). I rarely eat them and am so disappointed that I know I'm paying for something that's so disgusting. The breakfast potatoes at Skylark's are a revelation! I don't know how they cook them, but they are delicious! Perfectly cooked, soft, well seasoned bits of joy!
I would like to personally thank the new owner for helping make this favorite place and go to for my entire family with his delicious and delightful food.

This really is a hidden gem! The atmosphere is cute and you really can't ask for a better staff. We shared a more than generous portion of the Beef Stroganoff and probably the best bread pudding I've had in a long time. The view both looking in and out will feel nostalgic.

Our server was fun and the food was amazing! We got the Skylark Benedict, crab, avocado, egg, on sourdough, was the best Benedict I've ever had. The banana bread french toast melts in your mouth and is basically a dessert. The biscuits and sausage gravy has some amazing herbs in it that really create a fantastic flavor combo. The cranberry cider is like an apple cranberry pie in drink form. Our new favorite restaurant in Bham!

First off, our server John was great. This is not a reflection on him. However, we ordered a BLT and the bread was burnt, basically completely blackened on one side. John offered to take it back, which we took him up on, and they sent us out the least toasted "toast" you could imagine. So either the kitchen doesn't know how to toast bread, or they handle their mistakes very passive aggressively. Either way, you can do better elsewhere.
