I honestly don t understand why people are rating this library so low for not having outlets and charging for WiFi. It s a LIBRARY where you go to get BOOKS. Yes you can also do a few other things there but they are not the main focus. Go to Starbucks to work like everyone else and leave our adorable, friendly, cozy, neat and well kept neighborhood library alone.
Never been there so I cannot give a review honestly. I turned around in their parking lot and it showed up on my phone to review it. I give it 5 stars for a nice smooth parking lot.
This is my go-to library due to its location. Helpful and friendly staff. Clean and operable computers/printers. Smaller Library but usually pretty low key because of that.
We like this library and love people working there! Always great service and help with everything!
We also love a beautiful tiny garden, which was created by librarians at their own expense.
I LOVE our library! Yes, the librarians are all polite, friendly and helpful. I love that I can go online and put books on hold and just pick them up. Whatever would we do without our library? I need to hold a real book, look at the cover each time I pick it up, feel the pages, turn the pages, and step into another world for a time. Thank you Skyland Public Library employees. I appreciate you and the work you do!!
Limited selection of books, and staff has been unfriendly every time I've been in. I feel like they don't want people in there, and every time I've checked out books it has been incredibly awkward because they are so silent and just act like they're trying to get it over with as quickly as possible. Yet they chat with each other enough, so I don't get it. I'm local and have a card and don't make noise, so why the weird treatment? And, although I've never tried to work here, there are very few spots to sit and few outlets. I noticed because I work remotely and was looking for a place to work outside of my house. This is not it. Bumcombe County Libraries need to take some lessons from Charlotte and Columbia.
I want to apologize to the volunteers and fellow voters for my odd behavior. I have ASD and I got extremely overstimulated faster than even I anticipated . I didnt mean to be rude or scary. I was focusing so hard on not having a complete meltdown that I never told anyone I was autistic. Thank you for being patient with me and not kicking me out. I'll plan better next time. Hope whoever was there sees this and can accept my apology.
Friendly, knowledgeable professional staff. Over time, I have found multiple services at this location. My vision has changed, so I used the old Ebook system (Overlook), until I updated to the new system (Libby). I find this system for reading good books, to be top notch. Try it!
