Working with Stephanie (front desk clerk) has been a five star experience. Since day one she has been pleasant to work with. While my husband and I did not schedule an appointment to view the apartments, Stephanie stopped what she was doing to give us a tour. After we left she followed up as promised the following week. She is more than pleasant to work with. She's always friendly and helpful when asked to do something. For example, I needed a copy of my lease for DMV purposes as she was Johnny on the spot in getting it to me. I would recommend family and friends to Ashston and direct them to Stephanie to work with.

We have been living at the Ashton SF since June 2017. We can't say enough GREAT things about living here. Priscilla is an incredible community manager who has lots of appreciation and support for all the tenants. Stephanie is very welcoming each time you see her in the lobby and has a great can do attitude. The maintenance staff is amazing and quick to respond with any problems that you may have. We've enjoyed getting to know our neighbors through the amazing events the community puts on monthly. If I really had to say any cons about living here would be that you're a little far from grocery stores and shopping. But the community itself is small, quiet and very welcoming. I highly suggest you take a look!

A Luxury Apartment in an oasis. You will not find an apartment community in San Francisco that will offer such diverse large square footage floor plans, waterfront access, and decent rental rates. The build quality of this community is superb compared to others. The staff is hospitable and go above and beyond to ensure that residents are well taken care of. This is as good as it gets!

These were the best apartments I found when living in the Bay Area. These are practically brand new and well equipped with high quality appliances. Garage parking and storage is available on site. The insulation is good so you can never hear your neighbors and the area is very quiet at night. It's a 15 minute drive into San Francisco so although there's not much going on in the immediate area you can get around very easily from here. The management and maintenance staff are excellent and I would have stayed here for much longer if I hadn't moved out of state.

LOVE this building & my apartment- it is my most favorite I have ever resided in in the last 15 years! Building & units are gorgeous with high end finishes...all of the staff are super friendly & happy to go above & beyond. The location is ideal- just south of downtown S.F. but north of South S.F.! Super happy!

12/15 7:00pm. Very rude front gate door lady ( who looked like man with lady voice ) she did not open the gate for my Uber ride. So My wife and I had to walk all the way to the gate. With luggage. When I asked her why she refused to open the gate to let Uber driver in.
Her response was Uber or Lyft are not allowed to pass the gate. For security reason. Which was not true. Beside, the driver had to illegally park the car on drive way waiting for us. It s also dangerous.
This young lady ( or young man ) seemed really hate his job.

Pros: Friendly neighbors and good amount of space compared to SF proper
Cons: Not a safe community. Had my first floor unit broken into. (while my gf and I was sleeping) After I asked management if I could change to a new unit at a higher level floor they said "Sure! But there will be a $500 unit transfer fee" So I asked to break the lease 2 months early and they said "Sure! But there is a 2 month lease break fee" Lol what a joke. Funny thing is I found the same lady who broke into my apartment squatting next door. :)
There are some crazy move out fees as well...I think I paid over $200 for cleaning and $400 for paint!

Move in troubles:

Move in troubles:
We were moving to SF for work from SD and we fell in love with the beauty and elegance of this complex. We were set on renting a downstairs unit that was available but we wanted to wait a few days to apply. I was reassured by Priscilla that it was not a popular unit and that the likelihood of anyone else applying within the next few days would be slim to none. On top of that, they told us that if anyone else showed interest in the unit, they would let us know right away so that we can apply for it to take it off the market...

Well 1 day later, I get a phone call saying the unit is no longer available and was rented out after-hours. I was extremely upset because we would have applied for the unit right away had they not assured me we had ample time to wait until the weekend. No remorse or apologies from the staff as I was in tears asking how this could have happened... We ended up applying for a different unit, and our application was still being reviewed. We requested to have our 2 weeks extensive to move in that they agreed to give us for the unit that we originally wanted, but were informed they need to "check back with the manager" to see if they can approve it. It's obviously not our choice to change units so I don't see why they would refuse our request...

Our overall experience thus far - Let me just say that if you make any agreements with Ashton, get it in writing, or else it will just be broken promises. I will be updating this once a receive their response.

Move out troubles:
Funny after two years, I still had the above post saved in my drafts & unfortunately my experience with Ashton had worsened. I got what I needed in writing & they still charged me $450 on top of keeping our $500 deposit.

I have emails from the staff confirming our deposit would cover wall patching & cleaning & yet they decided to charge us an additional $450 for it anyways.

Sure the apartment complex is nice but beware, they re money hungry & don t really care about their renters lives or well-being & make empty promises & so NOT stand behind their word.

We had to move out and move back home to SD due to COVID. Thanks Ashton for making these struggling times harder for us.

Love living here! Its quiet, neighbors are friendly, close to the freeway. Since we ve lived here we hosted a bunch of parties. It s brought our families together. The open floorplan makes it ideal. Next party, superbowl! Can t say enough about this place:) Management is attentive and keeps the place looking sharp.

I am currently living in Ashton. I moved here as my good friend from office advised me. Thanks to her suggestion! I feel like home and the management team is very good. I really like the building. It is well maintained and also very pleasant. We call it the "resort" ;) soft music is playing as you enter from front entrance and a smile from Eric or Albert at concierge. John has been very friendly so far. We are lucky to have him. He is such an excellent person. So these guys are all in the management. John is the manager overseeing our building.
Ok these are what the stars are for. What would make this place even more excellent is a n area to be able to walk by, go shopping and even feel you are in SF. I mostly feel I am missing these flavors but we all know you cant get all you want in life right;)
There is also no rent control. If you happen to like the view from 7th floor. Rent it for sure and plan to move to lower floors as you see how much your rent increases;) just saying.

HORRIBLE STAFF ATTITUDE. The super is probably asked to stay home most of the time because he's the biggest troll in the SF area. Not great when you need something and quite possibly the worst area to live in SF unless you enjoy views of grey business park. There is nothing close to here so a car is absolutely necessary
Edit: Unfortunately my significant other lives here but not to worry I have no intention of being on the lease and we are looking for a new place together far away from here!

This is the most gorgeous, well-constructed apartment community I've had the pleasure of viewing. This is a converted condo building now apartments. The fixtures are wonderful, even double ovens. The floors, counters, appliances... everything. It blew me away. The amenities are plentiful. The price is right. So, why am I giving a four star review and why didn't we rent here? This is why.

* You're in the middle of nowhere. You're not in a walkable area at all. You won't get the San Francisco city lifestyle here.
* You're in Hunters-Point. This community itself doesn't seem dangerous, but you are near one of the most, if not the most, dangerous areas in San Francisco. My relatives gave me worried NOs once I told them the neighborhood.
* There is construction going on maybe even a building tear-down and replacement. This means less parking will be available, and you'll have to deal with construction. But... this isn't uncommon in other areas of SF too, however they're mostly just renovating than reconstructing.
* No guarantees on parking

So yes, this is BEAUTIFUL but we wanted to be in the city San Francisco, not a trip from San Francisco. This is more like a community *near* San Francisco.

I just moved from Chicago to San Francisco and I m glad I decided to move in the Ashton Apartments. I looked in the city and didn t find anything close to the size and amenities Ashton offers. The quality of the apartments are luxurious and the property manager Priscilla really cares about the property and the tenants. The maintenance staff is excellent and they re willing to help with anything from letting you borrow a hammer to actually hanging the picture for you. Pricilla has created a family environment in the building with the monthly tenant party. I thought I would be so lonely moving to a place where I didn t know anyone. The Ashton apartment Staff has made me feel so welcomed and I m sure I ve made some lifetime friends and it s only been 5 months. The only downside I could think of is that there s nothing in walking distance which I ve gotten use to because I usually can drive or uber practically anywhere in the city in15mins.

Definitely recommend

We absolutely LOVED this community and the staff. Priscilla was super helpful all throughout our time, from helping us with a video of tour of the apartment due to not being able to be there to tour in person, to helping us have a successful transition out. The apartments are stunning and spacious along with having a beautiful view of the bay on select apartments. We loved that there were monthly community events along with having a great resident portal in which you could post various discussions, such as if you were needing help with something or looking to sell an item. The management team was great at providing different updates and ensuring the community was safe. We unexpectedly moved to Seattle and are already missing Ashton! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The building looks nice, but that's pretty much all it has going for it. The apartment is literally in the middle of nowhere. There's nothing around--no stores, no restaurants, nothing. The staff is fairly incompetent on the best of days and hostile on the worst. Recently there have been a spate of false fire alarms due to faulty wiring or something that has gone uncorrected. It has made living and working from home difficult and the staff was unwilling to compensate residents for the anxiety, stress and danger that they put all of us in pushing us down the stairwells and out of the building in the middle of a global pandemic. It often requires an inordinate amount of work to get maintenance to perform maintenance--and when it's done, it's often not done satisfactorily. The staff lacks basic courtesy and kindness. If tree-trimming is happening and cars need to be moved, they will send out an email at 4:55 PM the day before and then tow cars the next morning at 9am, even if it is a holiday. I personally wouldn't recommend living here after 3 years of living at this location.
