As a welder of many years I get through four or five welding head shields a year I brought four last month an find them not fit four purpose the ratchet adjustable headband when adjusted constantly adjusts its self although they are cheap I'd expect them to do work the model was meteor 2185 very disappointing the arc shut down is good but you need both hands to weld not one holding shield to stop it slipping down every time you use it regards Terry coxall auto repairs letchworth garden city

I bought an SIP hydraulic workshop press via a retailer last year, on arrival various parts missing, paint finish damaged, generally not happy with the quality. I managed to speak with Mark from Customer Services who said he would look into it but never came back to me, no apology received ...... very disappointing indeed.

I had reason to contact SIP reference a problem due to a fault with my new SIP 01700 Bench Drill. It took at little while for a response, however I have to say the way this issue was address by a Mr Robert Greaves was excellent which is a credit to himself and SIP. Very happy now to recommend SIP UK to my contacts in the future.

Superb customer support.

I recently bought a second-hand SIP 01930 10" table saw. When I put it all together, I found I was missing one of the extruded aluminium top pieces. The online SIP dealer, (World of Power) were unable to supply this part as they don't carry it as a spare.

As an outside chance, I phoned UK SIP UK's main company technical department. I explained my predicament to a guy named Liam Holahan, and he promised to look out for a spare part for me. He asked for my email etc. To be honest, I was really surprised that Liam was so helpful - this wasn't a warranty issue and nothing to do with them. I wasn't holding out much hope.

To my amazement, Liam emailed me within a week. His team had located a returned 01930 table saw that could be stripped for parts. They stripped it down and salvaged the part I required. SIP then sent it out to me, without asking for payment for the part and without charging me for delivery.

This degree of customer service stands out for special praise. SIP were genuinely interested in me being able to get the best out of the machine. They clearly had pride in their job, their brand and their company. So hats off to SIP and hats off to Liam for going the extra mile. As a result of this experience, I will not hesitate to buy more SIP products.

I also wanted to mention that I have been able to adjust the blade angle to get it parallel to the fence track and, properly set up, the 01930 table saw is a fantastic piece of kit for the money.

Bought an 8" bench grinder. Got it home and both wheels were wobbling. Took it back within a week of purchase and after no use as a grinder and was told I'd have to wait for SIP to check their product before having my refund issued - took half an hour of fighting this before the company apologised and issued the refund. Since SIP have sold out and just resell Chinese rubbish in order to maximise profits without regard for whatever reputation they used to have, I certainly wont be bothering with them in the future.

I bought a SIP weldmate187 from MTS in Dublin who is supplied by SIP industrial Products LTD Shepshed England. It had a 2 year warranty. It broke down after 18 months. I was happy with how the welder worked
and it served me well until it broke down.
I sent it off to the suppliers. They looked it over and said it had grinding dust on the diodes and it shorted out. They would not honour the warranty.
I was quite disappointed. I had always made sure it was off the ground and under the workbench I worked on. I look after my gear. I thought this may be a design fault - workshops are dusty environments. Where there are welders there is always grinding dust.
My disappointment was with the service and lack of back up not so much the welder. Needless to say I won't be dealing with that crowd again.
Having had that experience I was careful when I bought another welder and am really pleased, a Migtronic focus stick. Same price, 360 Euros, 5 year gaurantee and lacquered circuit board, best welder I have owned. Got it in Dublin from Proweld.

Bought an ARC inverter welder via Machine Mart, however item ships direct from SIP. When delivered the ground lead was half of length quoted online and in the manual. Phoned SIP customer helpline and have to say they were excellent. Sent correct lead via courier, here within 48 hours. No messing regards this at all, didntd even ask for short lead back. As for the welder that's awesome, whole different league to my old AC transformer welder. Overall very pleased, definitely recommend company and its products.
