First, beautiful micro brewery established in an old church and what a welcome ... our server Michael, super nice, suggested the tasting of 5 beers. Well made and tasty products. Surprising even. He did not hesitate to talk about good spots to see and eat.
I would recommend the place to everyone.
AMAZING experience! Michael is the BEST waiter ever He brought a tourist map and gave his best spots. The Black Lager beer is a must! The food was delicious! Overall best experience in the Niagara region.
The place has no wheelchair access. C'mon guys it's 2019. They had outside seating, but it was full and they said they are going to have a ramp built soon. Neither of these are really the point. You don't have one now and we were unable to access your place because one of our group is a wheelchair user. Bad form guys.
Really neat brewery and bar. The bartender I dealt with was really helpful, and accommodated the two smaller growlers I brought that wouldn't fit in the filling machine. I'd go back for sure.
Awesome little brewery, Stop by whenever im in the area. Chris and Matt are super cool guys and the beers they make are killer. Love the oyster stout.
I love this place. Great spot to sit and have a pint of local craft beer. Amazing food, and the staff are very friendly The best craft brewery in Niagara. There's no pretentious vibe here it's a great atmosphere. Whether you are a local or visiting Niagara this is a must stop.
Good variation in their beer styles when I was there. The food looked amazing even tho I didn't try it myself.
Great selection of craft beer and a beautiful building!
Stopped in with a group of ladies on the weekend and tried some great stuff! Will have to go back for a tour! Take home beer is very reasonably priced.
The only place I'll go for an after work beer. I love this place! The staff are unbeatable and I'm obsessed with Mason's food. Full of locals and regulars. They've got a great selection of beers, including guest taps and limited releases. High quality food. No better place to grab a beer in Niagara!
Friendly service and yummy appetizers! The beer tour was fun and you get a sample glass souvenir.
The beers are ok but on the lighter side in terms of both ABV and IBU. The highlight for me was the pop-up raw bar featuring oysters from across Canada. The preparations are simple and really allow you to taste the difference between a PEI vs BC oyster.
Fantastic beer selection and food. Great for casual pub dining with a church community atmosphere.
My partner and I went for a late dinner here on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed! We didn't get any drinks but we will be sure to next time! I got the ribwich with BBQ sauce which was absolutely delicious and my partner got a chicken sandwich which they also enjoyed. Definitely will be back!
Made an out of town visitor feel very welcome. Great beer and food.
Warm atmosphere despite the chilly weather! Beer samples were well-priced and the pretzel bar ap was delish. Service also on point!
Michael took such good care of us! From the very start he made us feel welcome and informed is of all the different beers they had to offer. Some of the friendliest and best service we have ever got. We will return everytime we pass thru Niagara!
Great atmosphere, amazing live music, and great deal on Thursdays for beer!
Good beer. Good food. Good price. Friendly staff. A lot to love.
Awesome brewery! We stopped in here after a long day at Niagara Falls and loved the beers on tap and the food! Great ambiance, excellent friendly service and a darn good hoppy IPA! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Love the black lager, and the beautiful stained glass window, etc
Tough to determine appropriate review. Location is great. IPA was really nice. But... Not sure what was up with the service. Wife and I sat at the bar. Bar tenders did NOT want to wait on us. Others at the bar had no problem. We are from the US, and so was it the Trump effect? If so I sort of get it as he is a complete piece of s***. But don't judge your customers by him.
If it wasn't that, then it was just really bad customer service. We will be in the area a few more days. But we will not be going back to this spot. Real shame as I love IPA's and cool breweries.
I am all over Canada constantly for work. Been doing so for a number of years. In that time I have never experienced this sort of behavior. Normally Canadians are the nicest people you could ever meet. This visit was really weird.
Beautiful building. Amazing sandwiches. Tasty beer. Can't wait to come back.
Amazing place. The food options are great, the drink options equally fantastic. The atmosphere and look of the place is also phenomenal.
Great location, fine beers (the black lager and the hefeweizen are wonderful). Word of advice: they open at 10am,but you can't get samples before 11am.
Food was phenomenal, if a little expensive. Ambience was great and beer wqs very reasonably priced and delicious!
Outstanding beers with a splendid blackened Haddock on bun!
This place is like home. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. It's usually always full of people having a great time, but they always find you a spot. The vibe is so cool. The food is great too! Definitely check this place out!
Awesome atmosphere, friendly staff, great beer and food. Definitely will be coming back
Amazing spot with great food. Simple menu and everything came out hot and fresh. Great place to stop while you're going through the wineries for a change of pace.
Absolutely amazing experience. We were visiting from out of town and recieved the best hospitality. We ordered a flight and were surprised at how unique and delicious every craft beer was. After a recommendation from staff, we tried their fried chicken sandwich which was SO delicious. Would absolutely recommend heading here to anyone! Very impressed and will be returning soon!
It's okay but I prefer the staff and atmosphere down the road at Oast
Great brewery. Inside an old church. Great wheat beer.
Excellent!! Next time we have to try the chicken sandwich! Looked amazing!
The only thing better than the food and beer here is the staff. Everyone we met was super nice, helpful and accommodating. We had our kids with us and did not feel out of place. They have 4 mainstays and had 3 limited release beers available. The black lager and breakfast wheat were standouts. The biggest thing was that I learned hot (temperature) kettle chips are epic! I will definitely be coming back here anytime I'm in the area.
Great section of beers and food. I enjoyed the breakfast wheat beer and the fried avocado sandwich. My boyfriend had the sweet and sassy chicken burger and he said it was great. The burgers don't come with sides so we ordered the tater tots. One order is enough for 2 people. The picnic tables outside were spread far apart and everything was very clean.
Only bought beer to go, so unaware of the foods characteristics. Decent price for decent beer. Looked like a nice atmosphere in the restaurant/bar area. Cant remember what beer I bought, I recall it was a decent price/taste.
My favourite Canadian brewery right now. Love the bitter and black lager
Some very interesting beers on tap. Kunch sowcials were varied. The meat pie was very tasty-awesome pastry. The sticky toffee pudding was incredible. The sponge toffee garnish was a great touch.
There are a lot of quality craft beers in the world and those at Silversmith are good, but not some of the better ones that I've had. The space is very cool however and they had a pop up oyster bar when I was there. It is a place worth checking out at least once and I'm glad that I stopped in.
Great little microbrewery serving excellent food and beers. All the servers were really friendly and gave us tips on where to go in the area (along with a map of the Niagara region). The black lager is amazing and surprising light.
Best Haddock in the area. They also sell beer to take with you. My number one is the Breakfast Wheat, it is unfiltered and baby smooth!
Happened upon this micro brewery today. What a gem of a spot. Great vibe in an old church with rustic but artistic feel. Very welcoming and comfortable. Food is top shelf with a great chef. Food was amazing. Do yourself a favour while in NOTL and stop in. You will be filled with joy.
Delicious food...amazing beer and quaint location. Always on my places to stop when I come to NotL.
Awesome atmosphere, food, and drinks. Came here as part of a wine, beer, and food tour. Their Black Lager is amazing, but the rest of the tasting flight was great too. The decor of the converted church is both cozy and fun (bordering on cheekily hilarious with the winged demon above the door).
This place has very fine craft beer! Don't miss it if you're on your way to or from Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Brew pub in an old church. Great vibes. Decent selection of beer and a small good menu.
Black Lager was the reason I came. Food made it more worth staying.
Fantastic selection of tasty beer. Cozy environment set up in an old church. Food is a tad pricey but don't let the price deter you from going for it.
My favourite brewery in the region. Their black lager is exceptional. And the food from Tide and Vine is wonderful. All around it's a great place to visit.
Was simply awesome. Soup was crazy good.
Great beers, great food, nice atmosphere. Will be back.
Best brewery in the Niagara region. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent beer and great staff. Will be back soon to try the food. Best value I've found in Canada so far. Keep up the excellence Silversmith! You've made a new fan!
Food was good service was terrible our waiter spent more time caulking and messing around with random things then serving us. Waited 30 minutes for our check and 20 for them to cash us out.
have only been once but definitely enjoyed my stay. The atmosphere is very cozy and the service is great. I haven t been able to try out any of the food items on the menu so I will definitely be back to try more!!
Great fresh food welcoming servers and some amazing beer
Summary: Delicious food and beer in a pretty building.
Food: Delicious macaroni and cheese! And the duck burger was fantastic (and I don t really even like duck that much). Highly recommend stopping there.
Beer: We only tried the black lager, but it was absolutely fantastic. We look forward to trying some other options when we visit the area again.
Ambiance/View: Made in an old church, the venue is beautiful! I also think here was a way to do tours there, though we were unable to make it work in our schedule. Chris, our waiter, was also very friendly and helpful when choosing what to eat and drink.
Had a fabulous tasting with Greg and Michael! All the beer was very tasty. We had a blast. Thanks Silversmith!
We felt so welcome here. Wish we lived closer, because we'd be regular customers! Their beer was fantastic, and food was top notch. Prices were average, maybe slightly above. Employees were super friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was cozy. Beer available in growlers or 4 packs (one of each of their mainstays) to take home. Highly recommend!
First time to the establishment but you can tell that the people working genuinely love their jobs. Best Black Lager I've had and if I lived closer, I'd be a local at the brewery for sure. Thanks for the hospitality and great pints.
Food was excellent, beer was really good. At the end of our visit, I asked for some water - the bottom of the water carafe broke and water spilled everywhere on the bar and on my jeans. The staff helped clean up the water, but weren't very concerned with offering any recompense for me having to cross the border with soaked jeans. I didn't even receive an *apology* from the staff. Sincerely disappointed.
Can't beat this place with a stick. Vacation always factors into these tours, and not having to worry about e-mail and phone calls made this place even more enjoyable. Went with a flight of The Black Lager, Mind's IPA, Dam Buster, Hill 145 Golden Ale & Bavarian Breakfast Wheat, all of which were tasty. My go-to would be the Mind's IPA because I'm a 54-year-old hipster, minus the flannel shirt. Truly affordable, 4 flights, 3 lunches, 1 Mind's IPA bottle plus tip were less than &60.00 USA.
The black lager is amazing. Amazing atmosphere. A must stop in the area.
Delicious craft beer is brewed in this historic church. A lot of the original decor of the church seems to have been preserved.
Service is great. Cheese board and pretzel are tasty. Beer grows on you. And the church is fun.
The only thing I'd add is more food choices, but the place is great. Good beer, good food, nice atmosphere.
Not a very good experience. We came for Sunday brunch. It started when they told us it would take a while to get our food because they were busy and they were right - it took an hour to get our food after ordering it. I ordered my eggs hard, and after the order was taken the waitress came back and said because they were so busy, the chef could not handle any special requests - so they could not flip my eggs over to make them hard. Shortly after that, the same waitress opened the door near where we were sitting. When we asked if they could close the door because we were freezing, we were told no they could not - it was too hot in the kitchen so they could not close the door. I have never been to a place where the needs of the chef take presedence over the needs of the customer, but if you are looking for that experience, this is the place!
Over rated beer. Very nice soup. Sorry can t rave as others have done.
Excellent drinks. Friendly staff. Fair pricing and large pints.
warm, inviting, and exceptional beer. if i could give 10 stars i would.
Shared the duck burger, mac and cheese and pretzels. All very tasty. Had the black lager and the breakfast wheat which were both very good. Neat atmosphere, must have once been a church.
Best brewery in the area. Great selection and awesome limited releases throughout the year. Located in an old renovated church the place looks great. They also offer tours, growlers, and have a nice little food selection by Mason. Friendly staff and they even have shows sometimes. A must visit in the Niagara Region.
Amazing selection of craft beer. Good eats. Great place to check out live music on a Sunday afternoon.
Great service, food and beer. Interesting menu with food choices not on the usual brewpub menu.
They have opened up some picnic tables out front and are now offering some food. We tried their pretzels and the pulled pork tacos -- fabulous
Also bought some beer. We enjoy theif beers a lot and it's worth the drive to get some amazing beers.
Excellent beer(black lager), food and service. Spot on!
Best beer in Niagara. Their black lager is a must try, but they have something for everyone. Must go on Thursdays... cheap night and live music! All of the staff are delightful, Jessie & Sara have always treated me very well!
Pretty neat little brewery. They tell a really interesting story. Yummy brews!!! It is housed in a gorgeous old building. Rather unique looking compared to the others we toured that day. Kind staff with a zest for beer Easily answered al questions. Worth checking it out when in the area. Parking is slightly limited but they are across the street from a YUMMY little bake shop!
