Silver Lining Mentoring is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to empowering youth in foster care. The organization was founded with the aim of providing these young people with committed mentoring relationships and essential life skills that will help them thrive.
Foster care can be a challenging experience for many young people. They may have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, or other difficult circumstances that have led them to be placed in the foster care system. This can often result in feelings of isolation, loneliness, and a lack of support.
At Silver Lining Mentoring, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. We work tirelessly to provide our mentees with the tools they need to succeed both personally and professionally.
Our mentoring program is designed to match each youth with a caring adult mentor who will provide guidance and support throughout their journey. Our mentors are carefully screened and trained before being matched with a mentee so that they are equipped to handle any challenges that may arise.
In addition to our mentoring program, we also offer life skills training workshops on topics such as financial literacy, job readiness, healthy relationships, and more. These workshops are designed to equip our mentees with practical skills that will help them navigate adulthood successfully.
We understand that every young person has unique needs and challenges. That's why we take an individualized approach when working with each of our mentees. We strive to create a safe space where they feel heard, valued, and supported as they work towards achieving their goals.
At Silver Lining Mentoring, we believe in the power of community collaboration. We partner with local organizations and businesses who share our mission of empowering youth in foster care. Together we work towards creating positive change for these young people by providing resources such as internships or job opportunities.
Our impact speaks for itself - over 90% of our mentees report feeling more confident about their future after participating in our program! We are proud of what we have accomplished so far but know there is still much work left to do.
